Avatar n tn I spent 4 days in the hospital with electrolytes out of balance due to dehydration from uncontrollable diahrrea and vomiting; diagnosed as Acute Gastroenteritis. A year ago I began having intermittent bouts of vomiting bile every few months. Have been on all PPI's and Acid Reflux controlled pretty well but still have vomiting episodes. What's your recommendation? This leaves me wiped out for a couple of days with tenderness in stomach and right abdomen.
Avatar f tn I saw doctor on saturday and again tuesday and he just said i had to wait it out. Should I go back to my doctor?
Avatar f tn I have had gastroenteritis for years. I also have gastric reflux a lot now that I am almost 90. The fat around my belly / stomach area is terribly uncomfortable. I have spondylitis of the spine so cannot do the exercises I used to lose weight previously. I do not move much and worry the fat if a symptom of some disease. I complained to my doctor about the nuisance of the fat and he said, "If it is fat" and he did not elaborate. Cancer is a horrible thought.
475300 tn?1312423126 t gotten those results back yet but I also had an endoscopy. That showed gastroenteritis, candidaall the way down my throat and acid reflux (I think that is all too common). So far the gastritis and candida can cause my symptoms. One would think that with all that throwing up I would have lost at least a few lbs, NOT.......LOL One other thing is my blood pressure seemed to have gotten high, it was always perfect if not low.
Avatar f tn I felt generally better since yesterday and will be going back to work tomorrow, but once the general weakness past I was left with sever acid reflux which is ongoing since yesterday, severe muscle pain and today I suddenly started to shiver intensly with no appernt reason (I was not cold at all) and couldn't move for about 15 minutes. Should I be worried?
980756 tn?1313445908 they did CT scan and said every organ looked fine and that i had colitis / gastroenteritis... i got out of hospital and felt great up until about 3 days ago when i,m having the problem and symtoms all over again...anyone else have an experience like this after treatment? i,m beginning to worry the hep came back or something...going crazy have alot of gas and acid reflux going on too if i don,t feel better by tomorrow going back to ER...
Avatar n tn My 2 year old has blood in his stool, dark not bright red, and when I took him to the ER, they said acute gastroenteritis. Basically, acid reflux or stomach ulcers. They didnt do any radiology tests on him, just blood work and a stool sample. We have to wait at least 48 hours to get the stool sample results to find out if it could be a bacterial infection.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar f tn (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.
Avatar m tn This could be due to food poisoning, gastroenteritis with gastric reflux, infection like amoebiasis or giardiasis. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. Drink plenty of fluids (clear soups, water, ORS in water, lemonade). Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals, crackers, banana, rice, peeled apple, etc. Take ORS. Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting).
Avatar f tn Ive spent the last week in hospital as i couldnt stop throwing up and got too dehydrated, they put it down to gastroenteritis and IBS etc but they have referred me back to the hospital as an outpatient as ive been in there for sickness and diarrhea so many times before. I have to go back to work tomorrow now and really not looking forward to it... Please let me know how you got on and if there is anything that has worked for you or helping you.
Avatar n tn My daughter had severe nausea when she had her HIDA done ..her main complaint was nausea and/or significant reflux that would come for no reason and usually passed off as viral gastroenteritis until this last episode .. Gastro reflux churned about 48hrs before an "attack" ocurred but on a daily basis her issues were more intestinal/stomach strapping pain and loose stools and then would go away within 36-48hrs. Not a longer time inbetween meals for hunger, or anything like that.
Avatar f tn Now before i start let me say i have been evaluated by a cardiologist and a pulmonologist, both said everything looks perfect. I recently saw a GI for my acid reflux and was given an endoscopy. The findings were a minor hiatal hernia and some irritation in the stomach. Now my question is can GERD cause chest discomfort through my entire chest and also cause shortness of breath?
Avatar m tn Short-term bad breath may be associated with tonsillitis, gastroenteritis, acid reflux, diabetic ketoacidosis, or sinus infection. Chronic halitosis may be caused by poor oral hygiene, gingivitis (gum disease), oropharyngeal infections or a dental abscess. I suggest you to get it examined from an ENT specialist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I recently went to see a gastroenteritis doctor and had to do an endoscopy and colonoscopy test. I finished both of the procedure today and got the results back with normal duodenum, Normal stomach, a hiatus hernia was found, esophagitis seen and a normal colon. My doctor did a biopsy but I am not sure what or where he did the biopsy for. After the procedure, the RN nurse told me that I have acid reflux. I don't really understand this.
Avatar f tn Every day since I went to the hospital to get checked out I was found out with gastroenteritis and 1 week later taking pills it went away. Now ever since then I've been going to the bathroom and what I've. Noticed is that my poop is yellow and floats. I think I may have malabsorption but I'm not to sure. I'd go to the doctor but my parents wouldn't wanna take me as I had gone to the doctor 4 weeks ago. I'm 14 and I'm overweight for my age. I'm 210 Pounds.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you have the same thing I have, Gastroenteritis and I am totally unsure when it will go away , I just spent 13 days in the hospital and it didn't help. The doctors act like I should be over it but it just won't go away.
Avatar n tn i ate a big meal today and felt it underneath the front of the right rib cage and lower back WTF do i have i am going crazy
Avatar n tn The LES plays a roll in all reflux or GERD. You must ask why is the LES not working properly? When the LES is injured and burned, a vicious cycle develops that you must stop, as it gets worse if you don't. Have you changed your diet? Alkalized your body? Made sure you dont have another disorder or disease contributing to or causing gerd or reflux? Specialist are good at certain areas, but sometimes you need to step back and look at the entire body.
Avatar m tn ve had multiple blood tests, stool tests, an upper GI, endoscopy exam, and an ultrasound of my gallbladder and kidneys. At first they thought it was acid reflux as it showed up on the edoscopy exam. They put me on aciphex, and i saw a brief change but nothing to really fret over. about 6 months later it just randomly stopped, so i stopped taking my medicine. About 7-8 weeks after that it sprung up again...randomly...this time it was worse than before.
