Avatar f tn Hello, There is no relation of farting and pink eye. Pink eye can be due to conjunctivitis, uveitis, dry eye, blepharitis, angle closure glaucoma, subconjunctival haemorrhage, corneal infection, injury, contact lens wear and allergies. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from an ophthalmologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Pink eye is just that: pink eye. Our conjunctiva can get inflamed so easily from a variety of things. The seasons are also changing again, and it's that time of year where allergies and other things in your body will flare up. It's normal, and it's not HIV.
Avatar m tn The day i was diagnosed with pink eye my wife had severe flu like symptoms with fever ( 101 - 102 ), fatigue, cold and diarrhea...My pink eye infection has got anything to do with my wife's health condition? please advice.
Avatar f tn I went to a physician and was given a prescription of eye drops for pink eye. It has already been about four and a half days that I have been taking them and I don't see or feel any improvement. I have also avoided any places with bright lights and haven't touched my TV, computer, or any electronics untill now. With my finals this week, I am worried that I may be kicked out of school because of my eyes and I may miss my finals.
Avatar f tn My eye is killing me right now and I am going to the doctor 1st thing in the morning :-(
Avatar f tn The next day, my eyes were almost the same except with added infections of drainage and unbelievable swelling to the extent that my eyesight was blurry and almost unbearable. I went to a physician and was prescribed some eye drops for pink eye but it has already been about four and a half days and I don't see or feel any improvement. I have also avoided any places with bright lights and haven't touched my TV, computer, or any electronics untill now.
Avatar f tn There is no 'typical' clearing of conjunctivitis ('pink eye is not a medical diagnosis and many things can make an eye pink). It's just like trying to predict how long a cold will last. If it doesn't respond quickly: it may not be conjunctivitis, if its bacterial it may not be susceptible to the antibiotic and often its a virus and antibiotics don't kill virus (like they don't help viral colds).
Avatar f tn Hello Doctor my son is 2.7 years old and two months ago he had pink eye and I still have the ofloaxcin solution that doesn't expire until 08/13.
Avatar f tn 20/15 It started as what seemed like pink eye in my left eye. I went to emerg Doctor and he said it was likely bacterial pinkeye and gave me antibiotic gel. Symptoms disappeared, however showed up in my other eye days after stopping the gel and quickly was in both eyes, to a lesser degree. Bloodshot, very dry. Crusty in the morning. Shiny, glazed. Went to optometrist she gave me more antibiotics and anti inflammatory eye drops. Took symptoms away but came back shortly after stopping.
Avatar f tn t see as well with glasses due to difference between two eyes and eye - lens distance. My husband and son of course treat me the same but I know I look really differnt, my eyes look "teeny tiny" and I feel like a different person. I mean lots of people with " normal" diopters feel better in contacts so imagine me. If I had to of course I would get used to it and I'm sure many people do but I'd really rather not...
Avatar f tn My new born had that and I will put breast milk in a q-tip and I will clean his whole eye around it though not inside the eye and it when away breast milk does miracles
Avatar f tn So I received unprotected oral sex and protected sex about 9 days ago and I have no symptoms until this morning when I had woken up to pink eye. I didn't think anything of it and went to the doctor to get medication but after googling around I learned that pink eye is also a symptom of std's. So my question is how long after sexual contract would I contract pink eye of it is from an std? I have no other symptoms either. No discharge or pain when peeing.
539780 tn?1213943976 I had acute bronchidis, for the next two weeks I had walking pnemonia, then I had strep throat. Now Im much better, but I woke up this morning and my eye is pink, and kind of sore. Can it be Pink Eye? And if so.. what are some home remedies I can take since I really have no more money for another Doctors visit because of this past month?
1503643 tn?1311518238 I was recently exposed to pink eye from my nephew. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. I do not have any symptoms and am practicing standard precautions. Do I need to worry about this? I am staying at his home for 3 1/2 more weeks while taking a class 12 hours away from my home. Should I stay somewhere else until he is cleared up?
Avatar m tn Its likely bacterial conjunctivitis Make warm compress and pour in it diluted amounts of baby shampoo and using a cotton buds clean eye lid margins, eye hairs etc If the itching is severe don't rub instead put some diluted amount of fresh honey on that are as honey is ant-bacterial,anti-viral,anti-fungal etc also quite safe to eye provided its not contaminated. It will usually go within 2-3 days,if not consult a good opthalmologist near you.
Avatar f tn If so, squirt some breast milk in her eye.. your milk has natural antibodies to fight off the pink eye.. And if not, take her to her pediatrician and they'll give her antibiotics. Constantly wash your hands well. Feces particles are constantly in the air, and you'll carry them on your hands after every diaper change, so wash up well! Warm compresses of a warm towel on her eye while she sleeps will help as well.
469349 tn?1217606941 there is no discharge from the eye, the left eye, where all the problem is, gets really pink and my vision gets cloudy, especially when my pain starts. Im schedule to have an angiogram this coming Wednesday, and Im hoping I can wait til there. If someone can let me know if this has to do with the fistula and what should I do, please comment.
Avatar m tn She said I had the bacterial type of pink eye and gave me a prescription for Tobramycin. I used it for seven days and had about 50% improvement, but the infectipon was still present. I went back yesterday and she put me on three days of prednisone --6 pill therapy and a new prescrition for Tobramycin for six more days. If this doesn't work--what are my options? I have read that Tobramycin can cause kidney damage. Are their other drugs to use?
Avatar n tn If you had pink eye conjunctivitis (classic), it was caused by a virus, not a bacteria. Bacterial conjunctivitis is usually in one eye only. Antibiotics are often prescribed but only to avoid a "superinfection" which I have never seen happen with or without antibiotics for my 30 years in practice. They are not usually needed actually. Since you are getting better, I advise using preservative free artificial tears 2 to 4 times a day.
Avatar f tn Hi, I noticed on my 3 month old kitten that the area around her eye is pink/red, swollen, and watery. She doesnt seem to be in pain but she is rubbing it every so often. I'm wondering if it could be pink eye? Please help!
Avatar f tn it is best to be seen by a doctor, but Simialson makes pink eye relief eye drops, I have pink eye a lot, and they work sometimes, sometimes they work just enough to give me a little relief until I can see the doctor....but with any kind of eye problems its best to see a doctor..I am a walking testimony..I kept getting what I thought was pinkeye, so I kept being treated for pinkeye.
Avatar n tn My son, 3, and daughter, 2 in April, both have what I think is Pink Eye. We have not seen our Ped., since its Sunday, but they did call in an eye drop. My question is, how long is the gestation period, just so I can warn who we've been around. Also, whats the best car for the eyes. Should I leave the gunk on the eyes (since it's a fighting battle) or wash it all off. Should I take Lysol to everything?
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
