Avatar n tn The doctor is also clueless and told me it might be due to severe dehydration and infection that has risen my blood sugar level. So, dear dctor, was it indeed due to severe dehydration and gastroenteritis infection that has produced such abnormal blood sugar level or was it due to wrong test method? i have little doubt on the quality of that hospital becos it is run by christain society and it touched my heart becos of quality service and fantastic hospitality i have received there.
Avatar f tn Then pooped so much it filled my entire toilet. I woke back up at like four o clock in the morning with stomach cramps and muscle crams so bad I had to take a pain pill to help me get confortable .I am currently still in pain it is now almost 7am. Avatar f tn I was hospitalized a few years ago with severe vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and dehydration. I was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and acute pancreatitis. This is the only major GI problem I have ever had. I am very slender, 105 pounds, so I was wondering if maybe it was normal to feel a lump during digestion just because I am skinny and it's easy to feel my anatomy, or if I should be more concerned. Thanks!
Avatar n tn Acute Gastroenteritis means "Your stomache hurt really bad, suddenly". You have WAY more serious issues than that! See a gastro doctor ASAP. Bile should NEVER, EVER leave your mouth. Get some keto strips (to pee on) at the pharmacy desk (about $6.00 for 50) and use them REGULARLY. Twice a day will do, until you are well. They indicate ketones in your urine that accumulate when you are dehydrated. BUY PEDIALYTE SINGLE PACKS in the baby section at a grocery store or Walmart type store.
Avatar f tn Hello, Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but some of the possibilities for your symptoms are gastroenteritis and dehydration. Drink plenty of water as dehydration can lead to electrolyte imbalance which in turn can lead to low BP and hence dizziness. Hypoglycemia, anemia, infections, endocrine disorders like thyroid, adrenal glands, and pituitary gland disorders can also lead to dizziness and nausea. What about your last menstrual periods.
3166043 tn?1514260018 This is likely to be a viral gastroenteritis which should subside on its own in 5-10 days. I would suggest taking plenty of fluids with added sugar and salt/ commercially available oral rehydration solution to compensate for the fluids lost. If the symptoms do not settle in 5-10 days or there is development of additional symptoms such as blood in stools, I would suggest an evaluation by a primary care physician for appropriate management.
Avatar f tn I had constant diarrhea for 5 days, plus nausea and crampy pains in my stomach and bowel. I was hospitalised for severe dehydration, where numerous bloods were taken. Results showed a slightly elevated white cell count. My issue is that even though I am feeling slightly better 3 days later and have resumed eating, my stomach is behaving strangely. It is constantly gurgling (almost non-stop) and feels like there is gas bubbling in it constantly. It's not painful, more uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn Drink plenty of water and fluids to avoid dehydration. You should go to the doctor again and get yourself evaluated. A clinical examination, abdominal examination and investigations like complete blood counts, stool examination may be needed. I sincerely hope it helps. Best of luck and regards!
Avatar f tn Since I had to work the next day, we put him back in the car and took him back home. Friday I went to work, Sat me and the man both spent the day in stomach flu misery. It only lasted about 8 hours, but I have not been that sick in years. How about you? Has it hit your house yet? Please keep this in mind while out and about doing your seasonal shopping in large crowds. Yuck doesnt even describe it!
Avatar m tn Even the most recent study of Hill has evaluated a heterogeneous breastfeeding group and does not provide data for HBV DNA in mothers and infants (see the table for reference). Finally, the American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that HBV infection should not be considered as a contraindication to breastfeeding of infants who receive the approved hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) and HBV vaccine[46].
Avatar f tn It is waking me up early in the morning and also happening regularly from late afternoon on. I feel wretched from it and don't want to eat a thing. I am just wondering if it could be related to the fall at all?
Avatar f tn I cant eat or drink anything. Not even water. Even the thought of it makes me sick. I can be in the middle of eating and all of the sudden, I can't eat it anymore and if I try I can't even chew it up. Just the thought of chewing and swallowing makes me very nauseous. And I am throwing up and gaging even when I'm not eating too. But the symptoms seem to come and go. Because of the not eating enough, I have diarrhea that's green.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar f tn (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.
Avatar f tn s alittle info on it hope this helps The BRAT diet is a diet for patients with gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea, dyspepsia, and/or gastroenteritis. The BRAT diet is a bland diet that consists of foods that are low in fiber. Low-fiber foods were recommended as it was thought that foods high in fiber cause gas and possibly worsen gastrointestinal upset.[1] An acronym, BRAT is a mnemonic for bananas, rice, apple sauce and toast, the staples of the diet.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar f tn If you are having vomiting and diarrhea, it is most likely a stomach bug, or gastroenteritis. The biggest worry is dehydration. Try to stay hydrated, drink lots of fluid and get lots of rest. If you are unable to keep anything down, they may have you be seen for I'VE fluids. I'm in WI too so I hear you on the snow storm! Avoid heavy foods, stick to clear liquids like broth and bland foods like toast or rice. And plenty of water!!!
3166043 tn?1514260018 Replacing the lost fluid and salt forms the mainstay of therapy for diarrhea, this is to prevent dehydration. As long as you do not have vomiting you can take soups, coconut water, water, and electoral solution. So, take proper precautions to avoid infections and keep yourself properly hydrated by consuming plenty of oral fluids and consult your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn They told me to stop taking the antibiotics because they suspected viral gastroenteritis, and told me to have actimel and probiotics. A few days later I was no longer vomiting, but diarrhea continued for another 2 weeks and I developed a blinding pain in my left side around my rib cage, I assume torn and pulled muscles from vomiting so much. I returned to work on September 9th. I wasn't 100% and I was very exhausted still.
Avatar f tn I feel Gerd and milk allergy are grossly overdiagnosed in infants. Lactose overload has been diagnosed in breast-fed infants now - and I believe it is also found in babies.
Avatar n tn s more common in boys and on and on and on! It really freaks a mom out! I had issue with my 2 1/2 year old, he would flap his hand and walk on his tip toes..all of which he has stopped now but those are red flags...but for him it didn't mean anything. He is talking up a storm and is definalty not autistic. I guess sometimes the more you know isn't always a good thing.
1361044 tn?1277598308 He has been evaluated by PT and OT and both have said that he is underdeveloped in various areas especially motor skills. I left the ER feeling like I was overreacting but as a parent I know I'm not. They sid they would consider the Chairi severe if it was around 8mm. We have two Ped NSG appts. in two weeks. I hope they can figure out what is really going on. The reason I keep doing more research on this is that I keep hearing that Chairi is easily misdiagnosed and easily misunderstood.
889551 tn?1416184483 Inhalers are very difficult to use on infants and nebulizers are the only effective way to get your little one medicated. I am nurse with a son with pediatric asthma. We've been through it all. I wish you well. If your MD refuses to allow you a nebulizer, find an allergist or another pediatrician.
Avatar n tn Before waiting all holiday weekend so nervous, perhaps you can call the pediatrician office and there Will be a doc on call. Explain your concerns and I'm sure they will talk to you about that. In addition, if the doc dx. that, and then left on vaca, it seems the doc was confident that you could take care of your daughter at this point.
