Avatar m tn Anytime you have blood in your stool you should go see your doctor. Make sure you are plenty hydrated as diarrhea dehydrate you very quickly. Food poisoning can cause bloody stool and so can a number of other things. In order to treat your problem you need to find out what the problem is and get checked out by a doctor!
Avatar n tn It can also be due to bleeding into gut such as due to acidity, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease and even due to gastroenteritis. If this repeats it self get the stool tested for occult or hidden blood. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.
Avatar n tn My 2 year old has blood in his stool, dark not bright red, and when I took him to the ER, they said acute gastroenteritis. Basically, acid reflux or stomach ulcers. They didnt do any radiology tests on him, just blood work and a stool sample. We have to wait at least 48 hours to get the stool sample results to find out if it could be a bacterial infection.

Avatar n tn Thanks in advance for your insight and guidance. In March I suddenly found myself with a range of new diagnoses after being completely healthy 45 year old male with no medical history. In March 2009 I was diagnosed with Eosinophilia (40%), Hypogammaglobulinemia low IgG (407) after going to the doctor with stomach pain and alcohol intolerance (0.5 ounce of wine or whiskey would trigger a violent attack within minutes, while grape juice does not cause an attack).
693811 tn?1245871706 I have been able to work, but have continued to have pain in the bowels, Fasting is very painful, and passing stool is often not a relief. I find kipper snacks are a quick relief for pain and easy when I am out in the car away from home. I often take yogurt, but also take the soil based organisms. These usually work, and I think I am fairly free of actual stone pain now, but my bowels just can't get right.
Avatar f tn While the doctor said I didn’t have food poisoning It was confirmed there was blood in my stool and recommended I get a CT scan. I also struggle with anxiety so I’ve been having panic attacks thinking how everyone could be going through the same thing because of me. How severe could this have effected my coworkers. How bad may I have hurt them (and myself) with my incompetence?
Avatar n tn I also recently developed muscle and joint pain, particularly in my knees, hips, and muscles of the legs which is quite severe. I have no solid stools at all - just water. I have no appetite. I also find that if I fast and drink nothing but water for a day or so, I still have gurgling and numerous watery bowel movements the next day. I also sometimes have severe epigastric pain, not relieved by antacids or PPIs. 1. Rheumatology workup was negative - sed rate, ANA, RF, etc.
Avatar f tn I sat there for a minut and starting passing a stool. I suddenly got light headed, started sweating and vomited everywhere. I vomited until every last morsel of food was gone. Then pooped so much it filled my entire toilet. Please tell me what this could possible be.

20600397 tn?1501628183 Once again, I was sent home. I kept feeling bad, so I decided to do a blood test, heart tests, and stool tests. Also a full scan on the abdomen to check organs for damage. Everything came back negative. I have great blood values, heart sporadically skips beats (extrasystols) but it's no sign of any disease, everything is perfect. The problem is, I keep having respiratory issues. My lungs have troubles filling up, it's like I constantly need to cough something out.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar m tn I live in the tropics and have been here for 5 years now with a clean bill of health until 6 months ago when I started to feel very fatigued, dizzy and nauseous. The symptoms would come and go but I would normally have very soft stool and sometimes mild stomach upsets, I put this down to the less than sanitary environment. A month ago I suffered for the first time a gout attack in my left foot which passed quickly.

Avatar f tn Assumed it was a hemorrhoid so paid no attention to it. Just occasional blood in stool. In the past few months, there is more blood with stool and she has mostly diarrhea when she goes. Not a lot of formed stools now. OK so about a month ago, there started to be small amounts of mucous with the stool (and still blood). Now in the past 2 weeks, the blood and mucous are even more volume. and it is every time.

Avatar f tn Let me preface this by giving some facts: I am a 35 year old male. I have no history of GI problems. Two years ago, I passed a minor kidney stone. I am a hypochondriac, and tend to obsess over cancer. Nonetheless, back in December, I had a weeklong GI-type of infection. It actually started with a four day person of constipation. Then, I had diarrhea for a week, as well as two days of the "stomach bug," or gastroenteritis.
