Avatar m tn hi i took some normal waste to a waste disposal place. any way i was told to put my rubbish in this big metal container. i did as i was told while i was in the container for about 30 secs i took one or two breaths while i was in there when i came out i see some old sticker on the container saying asbestos waste.im now in dispair with the thought that im going to get a illness somewhere down the line. My question is , is that classed as a acute/high exposer?
Avatar f tn • Call your local solid waste department or public health department to determine the correct disposal method for your area. • Ask your health care provider or local pharmacist if they offer disposal, or if they know of safe disposal programs in the area. • Contact the Coalition for Safe Community Needle Disposal at 1-800-643-1643 Ask about the availability of safe disposal programs in your area or for information on setting up a community disposal program. Avatar f tn s before there were state and federal regulations concerning toxic waste disposal. There were barrels of waste from the mills where we played. These barrels oozed sludge and liquid that we called "rainbow water." We would make mud pies from this stuff. Sometimes older kids would come by and pry the lids off the barrels and throw the sludge at us. This would end up in a sludge free-for-all. I have many neurological manifestations with normal MRI, CT Scan, blood tests, etc.

Avatar n tn and tonight I noted the housekeeper preparing to take our red blood borne pathogen container to the disposal area. I asked to have a look inside. I noted well over 100 "single use" vacutainers inside. I decided to "study" the situation....so I took the container home to my shop, used a pliers to remove each unit, one at a time, and removed each screw in needle. I threw the needles all back into the red container....
Avatar f tn Total waste of money and time..I had one with our first and although a little convenient it's just a build up bin...and it does get a foul smell. I breastfed and yes the poops aren't as stinky but when you accumulate a whole days worth it smells bad. I just buy scented nappy disposal bags and get up and walk it to the big rubbish bin...its not that hard and only takes a minute...id rather do that instead of waiting and pulling out a long sausage of stinkers from a nappy bin....

353348 tn?1209695437 My Doc told me to bring my small disposal boxes to him when they are full and just throw my small box into his very large one. I never asked - I just assumed all patients on tx did that.
Avatar f tn t realize how long they actually take to decompose and how much waste it creates in landfills and how it affects the environment. Besides that the savings just make sense to use cloth. And babies in cloth diapers tend to have less diaper rash and potty train sooner most of the time so you're using diapers for a shorter amount of time. Here's an article that really helped me with my decision! http://www.whattoexpect.com/diapering-essentials/cloth-vs-disposables.aspx good luck!!
Avatar n tn The only complication really is if you have an allergic reaction to the dye, but then medication is administered to counteract this. The anaesthetic used is not gaseous, so again there are no complications.
446156 tn?1275859576 Some one on craigslist gave my a Safety 1st diaper disposal and I don't have a clue what to put in it. Any advice you have would be a great help. Anita I just found a website that said.... Safety First Neat Diaper Pail Refill Diapering From what I am hearing, this line has been discontinued!! Is there any thing else i can use in it?
Avatar n tn I am 21 years old and have noticed in the past year that everyonce in a while i have blood on my tissue when i wipe after going #2. Sometimes its a little and sometimes it's a lot. Its not always there either. Sometimes when i go it hurts like contractions for having a baby until i'm able to relieve myself. It's often gaseous and in bits and pieces, usually when it happens i just take it VERY easy on what I eat and drink, but i don't know exactly what is causing this.
Avatar f tn Thanks I'm going to have to ask my Dr for something.
Avatar m tn Yaeh lets just stop flushing em. I am glad i did not read this two weeks ago I would never wanna pee again. I'd hate to waste such good narcotics. LOL It is true if you drink tap water and have city water. That is why I wish we had well or spring water here, but not and thats why we always have gotten bottled spring water to drink we have kids and I never liked tap water for em.
Avatar m tn I got a disinfectant treatment on leg at the ER, but at that time right side of my body contacted with a hazardous disposal box (during operation) it was very small room. They throw away gauze or other things to that box. If there were syringes or needles in that box, and then there was possible contact am I at risk? Actually I didn't feel any pain at that time but when I came back home, I found red spot on my right arm. Im really worried.
Avatar n tn Gaseous and prominent fluid filled bowel loops are seen in my abdomen pls help
907968 tn?1292622204 When my Dad died (congestive heart failure and cancer) he had many bottles of pills left over. I checked with the pharmacy to see if they had a disposal system. They do not because it's too hard to track all the meds that would pour in. What's recommended now (and I hope it changes) is to destroy the pills by grinding or melting down with hot water and then mix them with something unpalatable like coffee grounds or used kitty litter. Bag it all and then toss it in the trash.
Avatar m tn http://www.m.webmd.boots.com/a-to-z-guides/jaundice Someone with jaundice is likely to have a yellow look to their skin and the whites of the eyes. Many newborn babies develop jaundice, but the condition can affect people of all ages. This article looks at older children and adults. Jaundice is caused by a build-up of bilirubin in the blood and body tissue. That build-up is often due to conditions affecting the liver, such as cirrhosis, hepatitis or gallstones.
