Avatar f tn Gaseous prominence seen in bowels
Avatar f tn It states that their is excessive gaseous distension of bowel loops. What does it means? Is it is severe condition.
Avatar f tn Chlorine gas is toxic at certain levels. If the pool is over chlorinated you could be having a reaction to the chlorine, but most likely it is not a true allergy. I would make sure the the chlorine level is safe first. In the US, chlorine is used to sanitize our water. Does that occur where you are? If so, you should be having reactions to that as well. Do you have options to swim at a different pool? When my daughter swam club we had three choices. One of them was a bromine pool.
208764 tn?1249429657 Chlorine dioxide was introduced as a drinking water disinfectant on a large scale in 1956, when Brussels, Belgium, changed from chlorine to chlorine dioxide. Its most common use in water treatment is as a pre-oxidant prior to chlorination of drinking water to destroy natural water impurities that produce trihalomethanes on exposure to free chlorine. Trihalomethanes are suspect carcinogenic disinfection by-product associated with chlorination of naturally occurring organics in the raw water.
Avatar f tn I also have problems with chlorine in swimming pools...and I don't dare go near bleach. "Salt-water chlorine" pools have less chlorine in them than regular chlorine pools. If you go to a fitness center (or wherever) you can ask what type of pool they have and they'll tell you.
Avatar n tn The only complication really is if you have an allergic reaction to the dye, but then medication is administered to counteract this. The anaesthetic used is not gaseous, so again there are no complications.
Avatar f tn Is there an explanation and could I possible have an intolerance/allergy to chlorine in the pool?
Avatar f tn I was in there for like 30 minutes or so. I noticed like chlorine smell, next to my toilet. Idk why toilet smelled like chlorine I'm guessing someone cleaned it in the motioning idk to be honest but I guess I been smelling that the whole time I was there. Would it effect my baby? Ik chlorine is toxic.
Avatar f tn This will remove some of the chlorine. I suspect it is the chlorine that is causing the itchy red spots on your body. Buy at least 2 bathing suits so you don't wear the same one all the time and hand wash your bathing suits. I hope my suggestions have been helpful. The next time you go to your family doctor, tell your doctor you think you may be allergic to chlorine , that your eyes get itchy and what she or he suggests . I wish you well.
Avatar f tn I swallowed a large amount of Chlorine pool water. Does anyone know the negative affects of swallowing Chlorine (pool water) . Since the incident i have had tenderness and pain in my right side of my torso and later developed muscle soreness in the neck area around my collar bone.
Avatar f tn Having visited the neuro last week, who came in, finding me curled up on the exam table!, I was so sick from a chlorine ice attack, we addressed my 4 day hug(ish) followed by more than 2 months of residual spasm in my right shoulder. He agreed that it was a residual spasm and increased my baclofen from 10mg to 20mg TID until it goes away. I think he forgets that when he increases these meds, it keeps me housebound for awhile!
Avatar f tn Pools add chlorine because it kills bacteria. It's a chemical. Think of it like bleach. No bacteria is living in a pool with chlorine.
Avatar f tn Chlorine will not hurt the baby as long as you are in a well ventilated area when using. Most hospitals use chlorine to kill bacteria. It can be toxic if mixed with certain other chemicals so read the labels before mixing.
Avatar f tn The one thing I could think of was a chlorine allergy, probably minor. Chlorine allergies show symptoms very similar to that of Asthma, like trouble breathing, or lightheadedness. The muscle cramps and tightness could be caused by lack of oxygen. If it is a chlorine allergy one thing you should monitor is what happens to your daughter when drinking tap water, as chlorine is very common in the purification of drinking water. Best of luck to you and your daughter!
Avatar m tn I swim in my own pool in the summer and have never developed a rash and the chlorine content in that pool is high.
Avatar n tn It is apparent that chlorine has become an occupational hazard for your son. If he is allergic to cholrine, then maybe anti allergics or inhalers used for asthma may help. However, true allergy will only be eliminated on stopping the use of the pool. Alternatively your son can try for a job at pools which do not use chlorine for purification. Lifeguard jobs at natural water resources like sea beach is also an option. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar n tn Yesterday at work I burned my elbow in some chlorine. I'm guessing it wasn't diluted becaue I have a big red burn on my elbow and it hurts when I bend my arm. I've washed it with cold water a few times, but it's still kind of moist. Someone told me it's a 2nd degree burn. I also put some cortizone cream on it. Do I need to see a doctor?
Avatar f tn Can I be allergic to chlorine? What caused the rash? How long does is take to heal from chlorine reactions? Are more meds needed?
Avatar f tn I really need some advice today I went swimming at a friends house and her pool and you know how the pool is full chlorine i swallow a little bit of the water but I don't know if it's going to harm the baby because of the chlorine and after that about 2 to 3 hours after my stomach started cramping really bad there's no bleeding or anything its just feel cramping really bad and I don't know what to do I just don't want the chlorine to hurt the bby
Avatar m tn You say your daughter may be allergic to some pool chemical. You daughter may be allergic to the chlorine every public swimming pool contains. The chlorine is to kill germs in the water. I used to be a competitive swimmer myself when I was about your daughter's age. I found out that I am allergic to chlorine. My eyes used to be quite red after swimming in the pool and after the races. My skin was itchy too.
Avatar f tn Thanks I'm going to have to ask my Dr for something.
Avatar f tn 1) Does chlorine kill the herpes virus? (Not rid your body of it for good, but prevent it from infecting others in the pool and such.) 2) Does chlorine trigger outbreaks? Some say it has no effect, others say they get OBs after swimming. This question for those on medication for HSV and those not on meds. 3) Can herpes be spread through pools and hot tubs? Most have said no in pools, but some say yes for hot tubs.
Avatar m tn Some sites say Vitamin C is better for a shower head filter to remove 100% of chlorine. Some sites say KDF-55 Media is effective in removing 90% of chlorine and 80% of other harmul heavy metals. However, I have found some website that say KDF-55 is actually a harmful substance that will leach harmful chemicals back onto your skin. Likewise, I have found sites that say Chlorine + Vitamin C = Acid. Can someone please explain the science behind these shower heads?
Avatar f tn This is a tad embarrising but im 25 weeks pregnant and my vag smells like chlorine. It stinks up my bathroom. Lol is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
