Gas pain when lying down

Common Questions and Answers about Gas pain when lying down

Avatar m tn I thought it was a contentment thing as he only did it when actually in the process of lying down. He slowed down a lot in his last few months which I attributed at the time to his age. I thought he was just slowing down as he grew older. Unfortunately Darcy passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve after being diagnosed with Cancer the day before. It was only the week leading up to Christmas that he displayed any other signs of something being wrong (lethargy and went off his food 2 days prior).

1413972 tn?1305583364 I noticed when I came out that all the stuff you talked about was happening. I get pins and needles down my left side mainly,I find i can go weak all of a sudden and drop things I have blacked out as in fainting but I also get periods where I can lose time ( difficult to explain) I have not been unconsious but I have no idea what I have been doing for the past couple of hours.
Avatar f tn He's been really good for the most part, but tonight he was lying on the couch while I watched a movie. He dozed off lying facedown, but when I looked over a little while later, he'd rolled over on his back. Is accidentally sleeping on his back for several minutes enough to completely derail his treatment?
Avatar n tn The pain is about 1-2 inches from my anus going down my left leg. Pain is usually not noticeable when lying or walking unless gas pressure begins building. Pass some gas and it will diminish substantially. CAT Scan found nothing. I have had many DR exams, colonoscopy. I am 45 yrs old. Not likely internal hemorrhoids because the pain never varies in any way and inches away from anal canal.
Avatar n tn It happens that when I'm sitting down, the gas collects in the uterus, and then when I stand up, the gas is expeled from the vagina. It is very disheartening that my gyn stated that if it's not due to a fistula, there may not really be a solution to the problem. Do you have gas from the vagina or the urethra (bladder)?

Avatar n tn Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Avoid lying down for least 2 hours after food. Maybe these tips will help you. If these tips do not help, then liver function test, pancreatic enzymes, and HIDA scan for gall bladder should be done. Food intolerance and inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s, celiac etc should be considered. Log in what you eat and see if there is a correlation between a certain food type and the symptoms.
1222076 tn?1423031349 If I take Beno before hand I'm usually ok but sometimes I do ok without it so I never know. Once I get the gas pain nothing helps. I just have to wait it out and suffer. I have tried Gas X, Beno, all kinds of acid reducers, anti nausea meds, and Probiotics. I don't even get to see my real GI doctor anymore its only his assistants and I have told them all of my symptoms they just try me out on different acid reducers.

Avatar f tn If you experience abdominal pain or cramps when running slow down to walking speed and stretch out the muscle. Exercise Related Transient Abdominal Pain (ERTAP) is something everyone encounters and is really nothing to worry about but if your still concerned there's no harm in consulting a physician.

Avatar f tn Wondering how many people I have disappointed along the way when maybe I could just bear the pain w/o the meds like I am doing now. Trying to rid ourselves of our addictive behaviours. The list goes on and on. Just thought now how nice it is to not have to pill count anymore. I don't miss that the most. You guys/gals ever think of this?
Avatar n tn May GOD bless everyone of you and may your holidays be filled with love and joy and no pain for atleast a day.

Avatar n tn I get palpitations at night, could this be something structural I'm wondering? Maybe lying down, somehow affecting the vagus nerve??
Avatar n tn I do notice that it tends to itch a little bit more in the lower half of my body. I noticed most of the time it happens in the evenings or when I am lying in my bed. I thought it might have been bedbugs or mites or something so I tried washing all my sheets, blankets, pillows. That didn't work so next I switched all the sheets, blankets, pillows, etc. Still was happening, so i switched mattresses with my father and its still itchy.
Avatar n tn The pressure is so great that it distends my diaphragm, and makes it VERY hard to let the gas out. When it gets to this point, the best action for me to take is chewing a Gas-X tablet along with half of a 25mg Metoprolol tablet. There is no doubt in my mind that the gas is the cause of my AFIB episodes. There is also no doubt in my mind that what is causing all my problems is known as "Roemheld Syndrome" - -
Avatar n tn Because I experienced that when there is more gas output, you feel less pain before seems that this strange gas leakage will disturb many girls like me..I am so determined to find the mechanism and will search this alot.. Avatar n tn It hurts sometimes lying down but mostly when I swallow something larger and it hits that area between the shoulder blades. It scares me.
Avatar n tn You might have a bug that's causing the symptoms, or the constipation might be causing a bit of a backup and thus causing some of the nausea and making the gas build up to painful levels. Gas pain often changes when you change your orientation, comes in waves as your gut tries to move things along, and can feel like being stabbed in the gut. Sometimes gas comes with intestinal cramps as well, which just add in more pain. Drink plenty of fluids, and consider a laxative to get things moving.
2095142 tn?1333236800 I have feared this would be the case, when putting her down came to the table as a possibility. My 7 years old cried her heart out when she walked in the room and after thinking she was ok in the gourney, I explained she was now in heaven; My kid told me then in desperated cry ahe was thinking we were going to a regular visit, even when I explained to her what were we going to do; her question was "why did you let that happened?" I am still asking myself.
Avatar f tn The fact it happens after you have been lying down is why I believe Betty thinks it could be heartburn. Acid reflux is notorious for rearing its ugly head when you have been lying flat, which is why they advise you not to eat 2-3 hours before bedtime and to elevate/put a wedge under the head of your bed and not to eat spicy, fried, fatty, citrus, and dairy foods when you have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Please go and get examined in person by a qualified physician!
Avatar n tn My dr. removed a large cyst with laparascopy and I feel okay other than this hella bad gas pressure in my shoulders and sides... I am talking about worse than my natural labor pains. I also get this "flopping" feeling in my stomach when I am lying down and turn over. It feels as if my stomach and organs are like flopping around unattached and it is very creepy. I feel like they are floating around and not in place.
Avatar m tn Also does anyone have these symptoms with them, abdominal pain (mine on left side where I had a abdominal hernia repair but get some slight pain on other side too, also have ibs), crampy feeling, bloating, gas, tenderness when touched in that area and a sensation of pulling? Also eating is a pain. I have to eat small portions. It hurts when I sit down especially and lying down is no fun either.
Avatar n tn It hurts when I walk or even just stand. Some sitting positions cause it to hurt as well. Sitting and lying down are the most comfortable, however I walk around a lot on my job. The pain isnt severe. Mostly very uncomfortable. I would rate the pain at about a 3-6. It seems like I have felt this pain before but it only lasted for maybe a day. At that time, I thought maybe it was some gas buildup or something like that. I have tried Tums with no relief.
Avatar f tn Its bad all the time but even worse at night when I'm lying down. I've tried eating yogurt every day and taking Metamucil, I've also tried gas-x and all that but it hasn't done a thing. I'm so tired of dealing with this and so wondered if anybody could help me. I've been emotionally stressed could that be causing it or is it some kind of allergy or IBS? It's been bothering me for several years but gotten progressively worse. Any suggestions?
