gas pain vs contractions

Decided to try using the restroom. Gas. Gas and more gas. Geez. False alarm had me a little scared. Happen to anyone else?

honestly the gas doesnt do much, try breathing through ur contractions and walk alot that helped me alot! my third pregnancy and im going all natural again! good luck mama!

I had a pethidine injection and gas and air both rubish. Gas and air made me feel so sick the room was spinning like I was drunk.

) with my first pregnancy when i started to go into labor i started feeling contractions in my lower back i guess what they call back labor omg it was painfull my contractions were over the roof since the beginning.. Well now this time around i started feeling i guess contractions every now and then but they feel different. Sort of like really bad cramps like my uterus is being twisted from the inside it feels far less painful than back contractions....

I started having contractions @ 25 weeks and I would feel them coming from my back to the front of my belly and they would get stronger , im not 35 weeks and I feel Braxton hicks once in a while they're not as strong as menstrual cramps and they also do not increase in pain

Can they feel like bad gas pains? I'm a second time mom, but never felt contractions with my first. I've got this pain that feels like I have bad gas, but it won't break down (fart), but it will get more intense every couple minutes or so. Nothing I'm concerned or paniced about, just curious to if this could be what contractions feel like. I'm 35wks today.

I think its not a definite decision that is to be made before hand. I am a ftm and advice I have been given is to take it as it comes. Work from the basics up. Start with plenty of walking and use the water bath for pain relief and use the gas and air. Then if you can't cope move up to the next level pain injections, then if you can't still cope go with the epidural. I have heard that with the epidural recovery time is slower. Tearing and ripping is more common.

It only hurts worse if they give you pitosin

You could be having strong braxton hicks that feels very similar to real labor contractions. But if the pain is there no matter what you do, comes in consistent with intervals, increase in intensity, then it's labor!

For the women that gave birth already what does contractions feel like? Some people say it hurts like bad menstrual cramps but I never had menstrual cramps. Is there something else to compare it to so I'm prepared?

Bad gas pains/diarrhea pain that doesn't go away!

Sounds like gas pain to me. Whenever I get gas pains while pregnant it's up higher (near my belly button) and feels like a sharp stabbing pain. Warm baths and kneeling on all fours can help alleviate some of the pain. Contractions don't come on so suddenly or painfully. They're more of a dull ache like period cramps.

It feels like really bad menstral cramps and bad gas pain together. I don't think that's normal, you should contact your Dr or midwife anytime you are bleeding.

Every time I had this, it was gas. Trapped gas can be a long sharp pain that you just have to wait for it to get out. You can take gas x or try sitting on the toilet with your feet up on a stool. The squat like position helps work out gas and helps relieve constipation.

Hi I am only 31 weeks tomorrow and i have been having like cramping and i do not know if i am having contractions or gas pain? i feel like i need to go to the bathroom but i can't when i had my last nonstress test there were small bumps on the contraction line but i didnt feel most of them and the dr would not see me after the test. i feel like i get crampy for a few minutes then it goes away but i dont think my stomach is getting harder it always feels hard.

Has anyone ever had a contraction feel more like a low stabbing sharp pain following a low back pain. Im not feeling much tightness. And also whrn you are having a contraction does the baby tend to move during it? Please let me know!

Ok so I need help from you guys...do contractions feel like bad menstrual cramps or gas pains? I've been having pain like that all afternoon but nothing is real consistent or anything. Is this Braxton Hicks?

Has anyone ever thought they were having contractions but it only being really bad gas??

So I'm 41 weeks and I feel like I'm starting my period. Just really terrible cramps. I've heard that's what contractions feel like. I also feel like i have to poop, like i have gas pains but i cant go. I've felt awful all day and have really bad back pain as well. I don't know what to think!

I keep getting this pain in my right side, I think its just gas or something. No BH yet for me then, idk, I guess ill know in the next 3-4 months haha.

I been having a few contractions for only like 30 mins and I wouldnt be worried because I know a few are normal at 34 weeks but ive also had a bad pain in my left side all day.

t have any contractions on my own so I had to have it and it was terrible pain. I gave birth without any pain meds or epideral but I can see why someone would get one bc it was the worst pain ever. But it can be done, it was worth it to me.
