gas pain quick relief

was just wondering what type of pain relief everyone uses or plans on using during labour...

In UK gas and air is used as a form of pain relief.. but on here the other day I saw someone from the USA ask what that was.. do you guys get offered it in the country your in? Its all im planning on using! (Hopefully haha ftm here!) Just being curious :) Have a good evening mummas!

This is a funny question but it is something that is painful. I've had horrible, horrible gas pain for the last three days. I've tried gas-x but it hasn't helped. I waited too long to eat the other day and gobbled up a bag of popcorn. That's when the pain started. Even ginger tea hasn't helped. I drank some root beer and it helped some but it has artificial sweetener so i don't want to drink a lot of it. Help, I'm starting to worry.

Does it make much of a diffrence with the pain?

I tried IV meds first and they gave me no pain relief at all. The epidural was by far the best pain relief.

Does anyone have any labour experience with the gas pain relief good or bad....I'd love some more insight......

I was thinking it was my gallbladder, but wasnt sure. Im not hurting now but like I saidd this was the worst one. And prob not the last.

Hi Mamas! I just can't make my mind up about what pain relief method to go for in labour. What methods did you go for and what was your experience? Epidural, gas, injection,...would you choose the same method again? Why/ why not? Thank you!

What are all the pain relief options for when you are in labor, other than an epidural?

Trust me, my grandma has be using them for gas relief for years... I know for a fact they do work for that, now if they will work for you that way who knows but that why I say you should try... I still say try the Sprite cause that works for me... The strong carbonation will help push that gas either up or down and you will soon be able to burp or pass it thru... Good luck!!!

ve not seen any post where people have used other pain relief apart from epidural. It just seem a big leap from going all natural to an epidural.

I'm definitely going to be using my tens machine for the first stage of Labour, already got that packed but can't decide with pain relife to use after if pain gets unbearable. Which pain relief will you be using/having and why?

Quick pain like a knife stabbing the inside of my vagina. It lasts for only a few seconds but then reoccurs. This has been going on for almost 24 hours now. Could this be caused by an infection or a tear?

Good day. Twice in about a month this has happened. I get what feels like an over abundance of gas just looming inside my stomach. My whole lower/mid abdomen is in severe discomfort to the point where walking, standing up straight, and getting up and down are very difficult. My stomach gets extremely bloated-out to the point where I have to unbutton my pants for comfort. Pressing on my stomach and crunching my legs up towards the stomach are very uncomfortable.

Pethadine is not a pain relief it I'd a sedative. I was given gas & pethadine early in my labor as my body was involuntarally pushing the baby out before I was dilated enough. It was great in the sense that it stopped this but it also made me have no urge to push with my contractions my partner & mum really had to coax me.

Having a lot of gas pain. Not constipated. Took gas x did not work, took other suff did not work. Had to take a pain killer. Just having liquids today, wait and see.....? Any suggestions. "afraid it could be recurrence, and on chemo anyhow..

re having difficulties, but I am so glad he made a quick appearance for you! Congrats on no pain relief - even though it would have been nice to get that epidural! Hang in there with the nursing - the first week is the worst but it does get better and he will learn to latch. My little Camille is 9 days old today, and I'm finally getting her to get a decent (not excruciatingly painful) latch on both sides!

t there something like a laughing gas or sum other gas that you can take a few breaths of to numb the pain?

t aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side. I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days.

I am getting up one or two nights a week with high pain on top of my stomach right under my rib cage. I move and have a lot of gas. I begin belching and as I continue to move I will finally get relief. I thought this was a reflux problem but priolesec doesn't seem like it is giving me relief. Any suggestions?
