Avatar m tn Just a general question....I have moments several times during the day when I feel shortness of breath ( like I just can't fill my lungs) I experience it a lot the day after drinking alcohol but not only then sometimes it just comes on for now reason, even at rest. If I yawn this seems to alleviate it momentarily and I can get a full breath. Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar type of thing. I've had it for years and even though I cope with it it really bothers me.
803938 tn?1403748253 It is true that as the uterus expands it can press against the diaghram causing shortness of breath. However, this is usually much later on in pregnancy when the uterus is 3 or 4 inches above the belly button. I don't think that is the case at only 13 or 15 weeks. The uterus is just not high enough or big enough yet. I do think you should probably talk to your Dr. If it is causing you to feel faint or dizzy, it might be best to not wait until monday. Take care.
Avatar n tn m up and around, I start to feel the pressure migrate up to my diaphram and thus causing the shortness of breath. As the day goes on, I build up more and more gas. It's really bad because I work sitting down. I'm scheduled to see my PCP this week to discuss treating my stomach and to do a stress test. All the over the counter meds haven't worked for me, including Tums, Prilosec OTC, Pepsid AC, Gas-X, stool softeners.
Avatar m tn is slowly but surely making your world smaller and smaller. Because of your fears of the shortness of breath and possibly the anxiety associated with that, you no longer drive very far from home nor do you drive alone. You have stopped going out, you have stopped flying and even if you do force yourself to go out with friends, you don't enjoy yourself.
Avatar n tn I just recentely realized that my stomach is causing the shortness of breath, radiating heart attack type symptoms to my chest resulting in the feeling of anxiety. You have to stop trying to breath and let your body do the work, breathing is an involuntary action the more you try to force your breath the more your going to feel like ****. I have been to cardiologists, asthma clinics, etc, they all say its anxiety. I realised that most of them dont know ****.
Avatar n tn Hi, for the past 9 days I have had constant shortness of breath. It started with a dry cough, tightness in the chest and shortness of breath but now it's pretty much just the shortness of breath. I also am constantly burping and I feel as if I have a lump stuck in my throat. I have had a chest x-ray, ekg, blood tests and a CT angiogram of my chest done. Everything came out normal.
1204528 tn?1588786333 Considering there is not much information on such an interaction, I think you were right in suggesting anxiety to be the most likely cause of the shortness of breath. What made me think otherwise was that on the previous occasion, it was when zopiclone (again metabolized by CYP3A4) was on that the symptoms occurred. So the cause is likely to be one of the meds. Probably diclofenac, but we can’t rule out carbamazepine either.
Avatar m tn I found that one in particular I was on was causing really bad shortness of breath. Once they took me off, I was fine.
Avatar f tn For the past few days I have been having shortness of breath. I cant stand for more than 10 min without feeling exhausted and sometimes even when Im sitting down I still cant seem to catch my breath. Any of you ladies experience this? Should I been worried about oxygen supply to my baby?
Avatar f tn At Christmas I had pneumonia and now I am experiencing shortness of breath and pains in my chest. The pains go from front to back, my chest feels tight and heavy and it feels uncomfortable to swallow food. I seem to belch a lot and get acid reflux. I am also experiencing a lot of cramps, numbness and tingling in my arms and hands and sometimes this extends to my legs and feet but I don't know if it's related. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn s possible that my blood pressure meds could be causing my shortness of breath. Supposedly I should not stop taking them, as that is what I would normally do to see if drugs were causing my issues. Does anyone know? My average readings are 134/72/72. on the medications. Irbesartan 300mg. I have been on these drugs for about two or three years now.
Avatar f tn Have you ever read anything by Noah Greenspan? He's pretty plainspoken about the fact that there is not always a correlation between dyspnea (air hunger) and oxygen saturation. The rest of this post is quoting him. You can find articles by him online, and I'll put the name of his book at the bottom of the post. _____________ "There are many, many factors besides just the respiratory system and pulmonary function that can affect how well or how poorly we breathe.
Avatar m tn i was just wondering can anxiety cause shortness of breathe for that long ? i am also aware of my breathing all day long..like manually taking in breathe consciously which is bad cause i think i do overbreathe a lot which causes all those symptoms of breathless and lightheadness..i aslo did a thyroidtest which came out fine.
Avatar m tn //www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/shortness-of-breath/basics/causes/sym-20050890 We are glad you are working with your doctor. That means they are determining what is causing it. In light of covid19 going on, we are glad you ruled that illness out. Scarring can cause shortness of breath as it acts as an obstruction. Avatar n tn Either Lyme or Babesia could be causing my shortness of breath and air hunger, but I have tested negative for Babesia 3 times. I am finally on antibiotics and making significant improvements. My doctor says that some people seem to have latent tick borne diseases that the immune symtem holds in check, until something stressful comes along, like surgery or a major life event.
Avatar f tn That makes sense..not sure why I didnt think of it like that. First time:) thank you!
Avatar n tn constant tickle in the throat, white/yellow furry thick coated tongue, sour taste in mouth/taste distortion, fatigue, drowsiness, brain fog, depression, anxiety, constant burping/gas, sore throats when I lie down, shortness of breath, post-nasal drip, excess phlegm, excess salivation, extremely odorous gas and bowel movements, particles/powder in bowel movement, bowel irregularities such as diarrhea/constipation, a burning throat sometimes that can spread all the way up to the back of my neck n
Avatar f tn The first doctor’s suggestion of the diagnosis of Hyperventilation, in the face of “tingling on my hands and arms”, is reasonable but the recurrent shortness of breath is worrisome and you should be reevaluated for other causes of shortness of breath, some more serious, most notably recurrent blood clots to the lungs (pulmonary emboli) . You also mention that your “heart was racing” yesterday, on your way to the train.
Avatar f tn I'm going through something very similar. I know how it feels. I've been experiencing shortness of breath for the last 2 months. I've had every test done on me like the spirometry. They came back normal but I'm slighly below average on the breathing test. I've never had breathing problems in the past and inhalers do not work for my breathing problems. However, recently I got a scan of my sinuses. It appeared I had a chronic infection so I suspect that is the reason.
Avatar m tn was due to reduction of blood pumped with each heartbeat and the backed up blood in the lungs caused fluids to leak into tissues causing shortness of breath. I had other symptoms of dry cough, fast heart rate. Chest X-ray revealed an enlarged left ventricle chamber and echo showed some impairment of the heart wall movement reducing the ehart to pump adequately. Usually blocked vessels will cause chest pains (angina), and you don't list that as a symptom.
Avatar n tn For the past two months I have been experiencing shortness of breath. I used to smoke, but quit about 6 months ago. One month ago I consulted a cardiologist regarding this and had an ECG, Echo, and blood work. Medical history: Intestinal obstruction surgery in 2008 ECG result: 1. Suspected left ventricular hypertrophy. 2. ST- segment elevation (anterior) As the ECG was abnormal the doctor did an echo and the findings were normal.
2075728 tn?1331768901 Shortness of breath, abdominal cramping and excessive mucus are all listed symptoms of a possible food allergy or food intolerance. Allergies show up on labs tests, intolerances do not. An elimination diet is how to pinpoint food intolerance/s. An autoimmune disease called celiac disease should be ruled out. Also test for thyroid hormones. A few ideas to go with.
Avatar n tn I did not know it was related to stomach gas. Once I was having the shortness of breath, somebody offered me an Ayurvetic medicine called Pachak Shodhit Harad from Patanjali Ayurved limited, as it is customary to offer Harad in India, especially after meal to aid digestion (the person who offered it to me had no idea about my problem). Anyway, just taking one pill (keeping in mouth and sucking the juices until it is consumed),in few minutes, I began to feel better and soon was OK.
Avatar n tn Did you ever find out what was causing your shortness of breath and did you find a cure? I'm having similar issues that just started this past week. All started with not icicle sinus drainage. And then nausea I suspected get in drainage then shortness of breath off and on and to varying degrees, for abt a week (that I attributed to sinus drainage getting into my lungs! No wheezing though). I've had no cold virus even though my husband did.
