I still get the pains in the same spot but much less frequent and the pain goes away as soon as I pass gas. What could be causing all of the gas buildup on a daily basis, I am getting frustrated with this.

It could be bloating from gas causing you pain and making you look bigger. Also, as the uterus gets bigger everything is all moved around in there, so gas can reach up in your chest. And your ribs could possibly be moving to accommodate the uterus. That can cause a lot of soreness in your rib cage. Try some gas x to relieve it and if that doesn't work try wearing a looser bra or one without wiring to help with rib pain! If it gets really bad ask your doctor about it.

I have been suffering with rib pain, acid reflux, and most recently, diarreah and acrid, sulfur smelling gas. What is wrong with me?

I've been having chest pain, just below breast in center of my chest, accompanied by gas, a full feeling, and a feeling of constipation (although I do not seem constipated). Occassionally there is also pain around my rib cage into my back. And my stomach sometimes hurts and makes odd noises. Also, sometimes I feel as though I need to vomit, but never do. Any ideas what might be causing it?

PVC's started 2 years ago for me. I can tell I have gas backed up under my rib cage (both sides) pushing out. I have had so much in there it felt like I had a basketball in there . When that happens PVC's all over the place, and I'm thinking it is causing an overcrowding of the heart and sends it into a funky rhythm. And they don't stop until I take Gas-X or something similar and decompress my upper abdomen.

A cyst putting pressure on your bowel and hormonal changes related to the cyst could cause more gas. Gas commonly causes pain under the rib cage. Or, you could be holding your body differently because of the pressure/pain from the cyst and therefore your muscles could be strained around your rib cage. Stress can cause muscle tensing as well. I do get rib cage pain that was diagnosed at costochondritis when I am tense or have lifted heavy objects.

i had right rib pain as well.............. i seriously believe its just gas..... Gas causes all sorts of pain everywhere.

I have pain right under my right rib cage. I have had this pain for over 3 years and sometimes it gets pretty bad, other times not so bad. I went to the dr recently, got an ultrasound and there was nothing showing that could be causing pain. But I know there is something causing it. What do you think i need to do next?

It may be gas- it can be pretty bad but especially up in your rib cage. But definitely if it gets worse go get it checked out.

Pain under left rib cage, feel light fever, bolted. Pass lot of gas, done endogastopic examination and prescribed regular taking Omerzoprasole, some time do have constipation, not feeling empty the stools, stools look like little bullet and watery, stomach look big some time.I had peppermint oil tablets, do have type 2 diabetic, take regular blood pressure tablets and reduction of cholesterol ….Please advise me what I can eat, is herbal medicine better..

My pain always came on in the evening between dinner time and bed time and would usually last for several hours. I didn't have it every night... Might go weeks/months in between or might only go days in between. There was no rhyme or reason, no matter what food I ate. I don't know how to explain it - it wasn't a "gassy" feeling, like I had to pass gas and I wasn't nauseated. It was a very sharp, stabbing pain that would start just below my right rib cage.

s a bit young, but gall bladder can cause upper chest area pain and abdominal pain which can last 5 minutes to hours and hours. It's an awful pain. Ask about her bowel habits and if that's all fine, I'd see the doctor just to be safe. It could easily be pulled muscles but if you can even do a walk in clinic, they can rule out anything serious.

I had a colonostomy in late May. Since this I have a pain under my left rib cage. Everyone told me that I would have gas for a while. Its been almost two months and the pain is worse. I cant afford to return to the doc. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain or get rid of it.

This happened to me a lot in my last pregnancy due to gas pains..both the rib and back pain. I found that watching what I ate helped some And simethicone tablets for anti-gas. Sometimes having someone massage your back where it hurts helps too but fair warning ..it can lead farting.

As soon as I woke up, I had pain in my left side, under the bottom left rib. The pain persisted, I went back to the doctor and they recommended I get a CT scan and blood work. Everything came back normal. It was then stated I should I have an endoscopy. I then had an endoscopy with another doctor, it too, came back normal. The doctor then stated "there is nothing else I can do for you." I have never had pain in my left abdominal area, until the colonoscopy.

I m week 20 n since last 15 days or more hv been having right side rib pain. It doesnt travel to bk n front, if u feel its really a sharp pain then do consult ur doctor.

However I want to know if a hurt or bruised rib can cause gas and diarria. Im sure alot of you are laughing but its not funny and I dont want to hear go to the doctor, all they do is charge a **** load of money for nothing. Thanks to those who actually can or want to help.

Im 8wk pregnant and im having pain/pressure in my rib area. Is any one else having the same problem as me? Any way to calm it down or something i cant really eat from it or nothing.

This is what I found about GERD. Nothing mentions abdominal pain or rib cage pain. Maybe it's just gas pain you are experiencing. I'm not sure. But this is what I found about GERD for you. I have had the same exact thing. I have been really constipated from the prenatal vitamins. So im gonna just try to eat more fiber. I felt like someone broke one of my ribs today the pain was so bad!

I'm almost 8 weeks and I'm consitinatly having back pain and rib pain. Is this normal? Has anyone else experience this?
