Avatar m tn Just a general question....I have moments several times during the day when I feel shortness of breath ( like I just can't fill my lungs) I experience it a lot the day after drinking alcohol but not only then sometimes it just comes on for now reason, even at rest. If I yawn this seems to alleviate it momentarily and I can get a full breath. Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar type of thing. I've had it for years and even though I cope with it it really bothers me.

338416 tn?1420045702 I've heard a lot of people talk about having shortness of breath. I wanted to pick your brains on this forum and see if you've heard about it being related to MS. I have recurring mild shortness of breath, best described as 'air hunger.' It's one of those things that comes and goes, like the bladder, the weak leg and the sleepy hands, so I think it must be neurological.
Avatar f tn The first doctor’s suggestion of the diagnosis of Hyperventilation, in the face of “tingling on my hands and arms”, is reasonable but the recurrent shortness of breath is worrisome and you should be reevaluated for other causes of shortness of breath, some more serious, most notably recurrent blood clots to the lungs (pulmonary emboli) . If you really "feel great" when you wake up and, if that means that you have no shortness of breath in the early morning, at rest or with exertion, it is highly likely that your problem is related to your activities and exposures during the day; activities and/or exposures that could worsen asthma. That would be the most likely scenario. Unfortunately, anxiety could be another cause. Sorry.

Also I was more winded that usual during my workouts.
