Common Questions and Answers about Gas causes nausea

gas

Avatar n tn I avoided spicy foods and food that causes gas. I took Gas-Ex from time to time when the gas pain was severe. I took Pepto Bismol when I had diarrhea and cramping. I also took over the counter acid reducers for heartburn. My recommendation is to ask for a referral right away to a gynecologist and find out what other tests should be completed to further evaluate and treat the cyst.
Avatar n tn It's possible that it can be gas or bloating. This is my 2nd baby and I feel pain and discomfort which I didn't have with my son. I drink Perrier water seems to help relase gas/bloat. I hope it gets better.

Avatar n tn Hello, Sometimes severe coughing can lead to vomiting. There are many causes of nausea. Stress, medications, reflux disease, gastritis, hepatitis, migraine; CNS causes are few conditions presenting wit nausea and headache. The presence of associated symptoms and clinical examination findings may be important for correct diagnosis and treatment. It is possible that GERD is causing acid and food to reflux back. You will need antacids and medications for your cough. Take light food.
Avatar m tn If nausea is not related to CPAP machine, then other causes will have to be looked into. Commonest cause of nausea is acidity. Take omeprazole and antacid gel and see if it helps. Liver and kidney dysfunction is another cause. Hence kidney and liver function tests should be done. Other causes are diabetes and hypothyroidism. Electrolyte imbalance too can cause nausea. IBS, gluten or lactose intolerance, parasites in gut too can be the cause.

I take Omeprazole and Gas-x and use Pepto . My GI doc says he is out of things to give me and told me to contact the specialist in San Francisco that did the motility test. I did and they said they will discuss it next week at my appt and to contact my doctor here!! My Doc here suggested maybe I go to the Mayo clinic. Oh right!! I'm in CA!!
Avatar n tn It basically is slowed emptying of the stomach (usually due to nerve damage) and it causes bloating, pain, nausea and vomiting. The causes of it are many and it is dxd on a gastric emptying scan in nuclear medicine. Sometimes it comes on after a bad viral or bacterial GI infection and is either transient or becomes a permanent condition, and sometimes it is linked to a neurologic and/or autoimmune disease (diabetes, lupus, scleroderma, thyroid disease, etc.).
Avatar n tn Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! Abdominal pain, nausea, gas, diarrhea, joint pain and fatigue can be due to Crohn's, IBS, ulcerative colitis or celiac disease. Pancreatic enzyme disorders, liver dysfunction, HIV, cancer of the gut, and infections by parasites (giardiasis, amoebiasis) can all cause persisting diarrhea. Lyme and lupus are other possibilities that present this way. Please discuss this with your doctor (GI doctor).
Avatar n tn I have been having nausea for 5 months now and I need some answers!!! The nausea is usually worse when I am trying to get to sleep and in the mornings although it varies throughtout the day. I have put the topic as H. pylori because this is what one of the many docors I have seen has suggested. It had not been that and now I am left stranded. They have diagnosed me with M.E. and I have an appointment with a childrens M.E.
Avatar n tn Gastritis also causes increased acid and gas formation causing acid reflux. Acute gastritis also stimulates a nerve called the Vagus nerve. This nerve carries sensation from all the internal abdominal organs as well as from the throat and respiratory tract. In gastritis, the Vagus nerve gets irritated. One of the symptoms of acute gastritis is nausea - this is also the time when the irritation of the nerve is the most.
Avatar f tn It can be a combination of morning sickness, gas and even reflux. You may feel better if you avoid gassy foods and carbonated drinks. Also, try not to eat fast because you can unintentionally swallow a lot of air causing the gas and discomfort. If there are certain foods that seem to worsen your symptoms, try to avoid them for now. You should also talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for anti-nausea medicine like Zofran.
Avatar f tn Included with the nausea I have lost my appetite and also I have excessive belching with gas. I feel uncomfortable everyday now and have not changed my diet. So I was seeking some sort of advise & see if I can avoid another unnecessary bill.

Avatar n tn I have lots of gas and nausea will go away if I drink pepsi or something that causes me to burp to relieve the gas but the pressure stays. I thought it might be gallbladder but I do not have the pain that radiates to back and shoulder area, just pressure to the right side of my stomach. Sometimes it feels as though my stomach is contracting. Scared to eat anything because it seems to make it worse at times, other times it seems to make it better, Any info is appreciated.
Avatar m tn Flagyl can cause nausea and diarrhea. Many of the antibiotics do. C. diff also causes nausea and diarrhea, so it may be difficult to figure out.
850257 tn?1239515192 Other causes of left lower abdominal pain are Polycystic ovarian syndrome – PCOS, Twisted or Ruptured ovarian cyst,Ectopic pregnancy,Pelvic Inflammatory Disease – PID,Endometrosis, and Bowel tumor. However all of these except bowel tumor will not cause nausea, gas and flutters. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn My a.m. nausea really got bad after a bout of rhabdomyolysis in May of this year. I do have Crohn's so tummy troubles are common, but this nausea is baffling. We are trying different meds but still no relief. Would love to hear any comments.
Avatar m tn There are some bacteria in the gut that produce hydrogen sulfide gas. Sometimes this gas is produced in such huge quantities that the sulfide oxidase enzyme in the wall of the gut is not able to oxidize all of it and convert it to thiosulfate. This gas has a smell of rotten eggs. You need to cut down food items that contain sulfites. Most of this gas comes from sulfites a person consumes, which is a part of all preservatives.
