i am currently taking 2mg of xanax 2x a day i also take 30 mg oxycodone 4x a day my dr retired no new dr will write both meds i am having xanax withdrawal.

Has anyone ever been put on gabapentin for severe anxiety/panic disorder? My doctor just prescribed it for me to help ween me off xanax that I've been on for 7 years. Was wondering if this has ever helped anyone?

I have taken gabapentin and xanax for 10+ years without problems. Xanax is a shorter acting benzodiazapine then librium. You may find you need less librium with gabapentin.

I completely forgot to ask if there was an interaction between these two drugs. I may not even have to take the xanax, only if I have a panic attack will I. Does anyone know if there is an interaction between these two? Also, I took 1/2 a promethazine (phenegran) for nausea in the AM around 7 because the antibiotics made me feel like I was going to throw up. Is there any reaction between the things I just named? I am currently taking 400 mg of gabapentin 3x a day along with, Metformin 500 mg 1 a day, Tripilix 135 mg 1 time daily, Tizanidine 4 mg 3 times daily, Diclofnac 50 mg 3 times daily, Nexium 40 mg 1 time daily, trazadone 25 mg 1 time at bed (for sleep), and escitalopram 10 mg 1 at bed, ibuprofin 600 mg as needed, and sumatriptan 25 mg as needed ft or migraines, I have looked up every drug interaction with gabapentin and found all safe to take except for my anitdepressent escitalopram 20 mg once

I have rapid cycling bipolar as well as post traumatic stress disorder. He has me on Xanax for anxiety, Zoloft and Neurontin for mood stabilizer. Can anyone tell me what they think of Neurontin and if it words? I am very intrigued to know if I am on a good medicine or if this isn't good. I don't go back to him for 3 weeks.

Is it possible these symptoms are being caused by Xanax withdrawal or interaction between Xanax and Dramamine or Azithromiacin (antiabiotic). Most of the muscle buzzing, muscle twitches and insomnia started after mixture of Dramamine and Xanax.

Based on this, it is entirely possible it could be interfering with the xanax - especially if you have noticed your symptoms return shortly after taking the gabapentin. This is something you should definitely discuss w/ your doctor.

Hi, I was on gabapentin and was on a PPI called Prilosec. If in doubt u should talk to ur Dr or pharmacist as they r better suited to inform u on drug interactions. They may inform u to take at diff times and what to avoid to help the meds aid u..... Did u develop the reflux once u started with the gabapentin or did u have it b4?

Doubling just the first couple of times caused swelling in my mouth and around my eyes, so I dropped lyrica altogether. In no time I was hit with xanax type withdrawal symptoms: depersonalization, lack of concentration and dizziness being the most frightening. So, I asked to be switched to neurontin and he wrote out 300 mgs. three times daily for me.

I have tried multiple meds such as antidepressants and Gabapentin... always have had multiple side effects. Things like heart palpitation's, anziety and vision troubles. I can take xanax and Soma with no problems. My question is "could it be the Armour Thyroid that I take that causes the trouble?" Thanks for the reply lulu, I know what you mean about the nerve drugs I also take xanax again i wound up in the hospital last octaber because I tried to stop xanax on my own and the cardiologist put me back on the xanax said I was on that needed them for cardiac issues due to anxiety I only tak three quartes milligram at night to help with sleep and I am supposed to take two milligrams a day but I won't take them, Only at night to sleep.

I'm currently taking xanax, and will start prozac tomorrow. Does anyone know of any possible interaction between xanax and prozac taken together? My doctor says he's not aware of anything, But I just wanted to get some opinions from people who may have first hand knowledge or know of someone who does. So I guess do benzos and ssri's mix well? I really need the xanax untill the prozac can kick in.

m currently taking Gabapentin, Xanax when needed, Busiprone, and Lexapro. Lexapro is an SSRI for depressant and is known for helping anxiety. Gabapentin is a tranquilizer/mood-stabalizer. Busiprone is an anti-anxiety drug as well but non-benzo. It works on Serotonin, and a little bit on Dopamine. Right now after taking the gabapentin and 2mg xanax im feeling a lil at ease. Plus what helps me a tad is to take a walk and observe nature in a sort of meditative way. Meditation is good too.

Hi and welcome, Ambien works the exact same way as benzos. If you looked up Ambien Withdrawal you'll find it's very rough to get off of. But I bet if you resumed your Ambien just as your doctor prescribed, it will eventually build back up in your system and let you sleep again. I have to admit, I'm like you and I second guess my doctor, but he always seems to know best. A couple of years ago I was on Ambien 10mg for just 9 months and it took me 4 months to taper off of it.

So yesterday I took one dose of diflucan which is an antibiotic when I looked up the interactions it said it has a major reaction with xanax... its been over 12 hours since I took the diflucan... does anyone know if I can start taking my xanax now.

You can take Xanax too and Xanax being a sedative, hypnotic, anti-convulsive, anxiolytic medication will make you even more tired and dizzy since you are already on Seroquel which is very sedative in its anti-psychotic kind of med. You get the extended release which should cause less sedation but still when mixed with a benzodiazepine such as Xanax it will add up and make you feel like you mentioned above.

I have been on many different medications such as effexor, paxil, prestique and lastly pexeva. My doctor wants me to go on xanax plus a mood stabilizer pexeva which I have been on for 2 weeks. My anxiety is so bad I can't think straight and when I have tried to come off of a mood stabilizer before it has made me very ill. I know it is a big step, it is the only thing I haven't tried. ve been taking about 10-12 lortabs per day and maybe 4 (2mg) xanax bars for maybe the past 2 months. if i quit cold turkey and just take the gabapentin (neurontin) will that be enough to help with withdrawals? or should i taper myself down on the vicodin and xanax a little bit, and then do the gaba therapy (i don't want to go in and have ANY doctor do anything)... help...?
