Avatar f tn I smoke cigarettes but recently found out I was pregnant. I have seen many smoking those vapor cigs and you can buy them with no nicotine in it. I was wnting your opinions if that would be dangerous or not. Or if you know people that smoke these while pregnant.
Avatar f tn Hi Corrie, I guess we all know that smoking isn't good for us, no matter what medical or health issues we have. I have been smoking for over 30 years & know I should quit and recently had 3 of my doctors tell me the same thing! Last time I quit was when my oldest daughter was born. And I still remember the moment I went out & bought the 1st pack of cigarettes afterwards & how awful the 1st one I smoked tasted. Yuck!
Avatar f tn i was recently told i have bronchidis. you dont want to get it i promise. i say quit smoking. you should be out having fun.
736475 tn?1281259327 I quit drinking, smoking pot and smoking cigarettes all at the same time, cold turkey. I did the patch for the first week or so and then whenever I felt like I needed one for about a month after that. I OD'ed (combination of pills) and ended up in a hospital for 5 days so I figured once I came home I was better off just continuing on with the momentum I had going. It was more of a psychological thing for me.
Avatar f tn t know how anybody could physically light up a cigarette when pregnant knowing all the facts that we know about smoking. All the studys that have proven how bad it is. I couldn't live with myself!!!
Avatar f tn Although I rationally know I feel better, I think about pills and cigarettes all day long and my brain tells me I’ll “have fun” if I just have one of each. Has anyone experienced this boredom feeling and if so will it get better?
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, my Father has been smoking a LOT of Cigarettes since the age of 12, and hasn't stopped inbetween once, and i'm seriously worried about his health now, he's constantly coughing really aggressively, and i'm worried eventually the worst is going to happen - Cancer. I keep telling him to stop, but I know he won't. He is 45 by the way. What can I do to make him stop? And if he carries on smoking like this, will he eventually get cancer?
Avatar f tn I have been told many things about smoking during pregnancy. I am currently nine weeks pregnant and I'm having a problem with just quitting smoking. I've been told that since I've smoked for almost ten years that if I just up and quit I run a high risk of loosing my baby. I've been told to cut back and I've got to where I only smoke about 5 to 8 a day and before I got pregnant I smoked a pack a day.
Avatar f tn ve cut down from a pack to 7 or less cigarettes a day. I need to know if there has been any possible problems I need to worry about, or if its okay to smoke during pregnant as long as I'm not over doing it.
Avatar f tn Anyone else addicted to cigarrettes? I know it's nothing to be proud of but I can't quit smoking from one day to the other.. If I don't have one a day I will go crazy... Does anyone else have a similar problem?
Avatar f tn we are completely healthy and the best advice I have is stay away from smokers as much as possible, keep a tally of every day you go without a cigarette (or get a handy app that keeps track for you) and every time you want one, look up the benefits of quitting smoking, and the detrinent smoking cigarettes while pregnant is! (: good luck ma'am!
Avatar f tn I quit about a week after I found out I was pregnant cold Turkey I'm 26 weeks 4 days now and about three hours ago I smoked a cigarette because I was extremely stressed and upset because my little sister ran away (I found her and she's home now thank god!!!
Avatar f tn I quit smoking by switching to electronic cigarettes. They only have nicotine in them - no toxins and they emit water vapor when you exhale. They are less expensive than regular cigarettes too. It takes a little time to get used to it, but I can't stand regular cigarettes now.
Avatar f tn ve only smoked about 15 or less cigarettes. it was a stupid choice and now in nervous and in always thinking about it. can anything happen just for 15 cigarettes?
1533352 tn?1307054656 Thats so true about the smoking, I totally am weird about how I hold my cigarettes and how I open my pack too! I dont know if thats OCD or what though, but I wouldnt worry about it. The money is harder to say. Since I never really seem to have any money, I dont feel the need to look in an empty purse all the time. Ha. Seriously though, a dozen times a day sounds like alot Rachel. I guess if its on a smart phone its not different than a facebook addiction, but I dont know.
Avatar f tn Is about 15 weeks and has been smoking the entire time i believe. She went to the emergency room for some reason and the doctor advised her not to stop smoking because the baby is addicted and might stress out if she stops. Not 100% if its true but I believe it makes sense in a way. He probably asked her to do something else too.
Avatar f tn So truth is I used to be a pack a day smoker. Once I found out I was pregnant I quit smoking immediatly. i'm 15w3d and past the everything makes me sick so i'm starting to crave a cigarette and finding it harder and harder to resist when I do crave one. I had stopped smoking by the pack and got an ecigarette which is just water vapor and nicotine. I'm trying terribly not to use it or smoke a real cigarette but i'm failing.
Avatar f tn ( I dont want to harm my baby nd I cant find ne thing to help me stop, chewing gum doesnt help nd I dont kno what will ! I cut back alot but I want to stop all the way nd it doesnt help that my boyfriend nd everyone that lives with me smokes cigarettes too! Someone please give me some advice!!!
649848 tn?1534633700 E-cigarettes are not completely risk-free but when compared to smoking, evidence shows they carry just a fraction of the harm. The problem is people increasingly think they are at least as harmful, (which could) be keeping millions of smokers from quitting," Professor Kevin Fenton, director of health and wellbeing at PHE said in a statement.
3079363 tn?1363273715 Thanks everyone! I think I will buy a disposable one at the convenience store tomorrow and try it out. Supermum-I'm sorry you can't try them in Australia yet, maybe someday! The patches leave marks on me too and are very uncomfortable for the 1st couple of hours. I always end up smoking and using the patch too-not very safe, lol! Good luck with this attempt-I pray it will be your last.
Avatar f tn I did some research about cigarettes and it scared me. One reason why I quit abruptly is because I got scared of what I've read. So, I thought that to keep me scared, I have to continue reading and researching otherwise I might forget about it and go back to my old habit. That's why I decided to blog about cigarettes, that way I would keep reading, making me not only scared but more educated about the bad effects of cigarettes.
