Certain tests may need to be done to have these differentials excluded. A baseline urinalysis and urine culture, urodynamic studies, and CT scan of the kidney, ureter and bladder may help. I would advise you to get a urine examination and fasting blood sugar and Hb A1 C test done. If diabetes is ruled out then other possibilities which need to be ruled out are interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder syndrome, neurological diseases, urinary incontinence, bladder cancer(rare) and bladder dysfunction . However they are also symptoms of a urinary tract infection,, which would need treating if that is the case. See your doctor and they can test your urine for infection.

Avatar f tn Other possibilities are diabetes, glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys),urinary tract infection, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia(low potassium),hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, diuretic drugs. In my opinion, investigations like kidney functions, blood sugar levels, ultrasound lower abdomen ,intravenous pyelography , pregnancy blood test, thyroid function tests and cystoscopy may be needed to confirm a diagnosis. If not treated a urinary tract infection can lead to more serious things. One result of a U.T.I. could be a kidney infection if it is not treated. I have had it several times and ended up hospitalized for about a week at a time being on several different antibiotics through an IV. Please don't wait, get it checked as soon as possible?
