Common Questions and Answers about Freezing point depression test tube

depression

Avatar n tn We are trying to get pregnant, and today I am at least five to six days late for my period. I did a pregnancy test this morning that came up negative. How reliable is that result since I usually have such a normal cycle? I don't have any other symptoms besides frequent urination and butterflies in my stomach that could just be from the excitement of the whole situation.
Avatar f tn 0, so endo ordered the ACTH stim test. I did this fri, and my results are back however I haven't heard from my doc....baseline cortisol 13.1, 30 min post injection 17.7, 60 min post injection 19.9. She did not test ACTH or other adrenal hormones except testosterone which came back at 12, just under the normal range of 13 - 29.
481426 tn?1267494840 My first IVF, I got pregnant but lost early, FET was negative, 3rd fresh 1, so far so good. I m about 7 weeks now. But each time my dr did something different, even immune test, hormone supplements, and even given me anti biotics just before the transfer. After the transfer I took baby asprin, predinsolon and cyclogest. I m really sad for you. I mean you ask your doc, is it the quality of your eggs are bad, perhaps he can give you something to boost your hormones.
Avatar f tn Did you have an adrenal antibody test? What was the ACTH test and was it done properly? (chilled tube, spun immediately, processed promptly - otherwise the result is low from handling). T3 has a very short half life and only lasts a few hours - so it should be taken several times a day. T4 pills last quite a while and so can be taken once a day. I take my T3 3x a day and my T4 once a day.
505363 tn?1211210560 and i have raynaud's disease and my fingers are absolutely freezing for some reason, and the heat is off for the summer already here. so anyhow, my mind is going and going, thinking - is it a blocked gallbladder? (i'd gotten pale stools while taking turmeric recently, which went away when i stopped.) is it ammonia buildup (encephalopathy) from my liver being bad? will they believe me if i go to ER or urgent care?
1350342 tn?1294540938 You can talk with your doctor in detail about your desire to preserve fertility and they are very good about working with you unless they have to remove all to save your life. Freezing some of your eggs is another option, but I am not sure if that is possible with large cysts on both ovaries. It is worth mentioning every option with your doctor. I was dx with Stage 1 ovarian cancer when I was 37, so it does happen.
Avatar f tn Hi All! Need some suggestions/advice. I am a 54 yr old woman who has been spotting/bleeding for the past 3 1/2 years. EVERY DAY! Only went away for 5 months 2 1/2 yrs ago, then on again. Just had an endometrial biopsy at the "clinic" (charity care), and they say I have this complex atypical endometrial hyperplasia. They are telling me I need a hysterectomy, but before I can get it I need a hysteroscopy first. Telling me it is pre-cancerous, but that 40-55% is usually cancerous.
Avatar f tn The results of the suppression test will point the way I guess. But I wanted to know from rumpled if you'd be willing to share any information since you seem to know an awful lot about this. I mean, how do they know I don't also have pituitary tumor involvement, they haven't done an ACTH lab. Would that be necessary given my other labs being normal? Geez i have so many questions.
Avatar n tn There was definatly no baby in the womb, so after a general anaesthetic I awoke to be told it was infact an ectopic and at 9 weeks, quite large so I had been very lucky the tube had not ruptured. However the tube was too damaged and was removed. I would suggest you keep requesting tests incase it is ectopic, the earlier they find out, the less risk to yourself and your tubes.
Avatar n tn Iam 23 with the same symtoms and I have been told it is my thyroid and it may also be the cause of the depression associated with the lingering symptoms.
158939 tn?1274918797 Everyone at Nuclear Med was great but it's still creepy when they hand you a test tube with your name on it and bolt for the door! Ceegee, I hear you about people passing out M&Ms around you. Right now I serve on the school board in my *large* school district. Do you know how many dinners there are this time of year I've had to just stare at and act like I'm enjoying my naked lettuce?? Arrrrrggghhhh!
Avatar n tn there is no point in that.. and sleeping it has to be freezing and i still have the fan on me...it doesnt matter day or night.. i get hit with it constantly... so any ideas to helpI would welcome greatfully!!
Avatar n tn i was diagnosed after being given an ACTH stimulation test. My ACTH levels were low before she did the test. 8am level was 2.5--normal should have been about 6, i think. first draw was 9.something--second draw was 11.something. what waqs kind of weird, was that at some point i felt like i wanted to change my dosage--can't remember why--but the doc wanted to run another stim test--they told me not to take my hydrocortisone for only the day before.
Avatar n tn Mine started about 3 years ago and i get them usually a week or a few days before I am due to start. I often wake up freezing cold because i am soaked through. I have not found any answers from my GP but I was tested for menopause but they were negative. I am guessing that it is a hormone that changes or switches to overdrive just before I start. But I too would like some suggestions, advice etc.
330481 tn?1309491843 Oh, and the progesterone supplements are usually taken after ovulation until you take a pregnancy test. If positive, you'll continue taking it until the end of the first trimester, and if it's negative you'll stop and start a new cycle. But hopefully, you'll be on it for the next three months! SSBD to everyone!!!
Avatar n tn I am 41 with a strong family history of cancer. My mother had breast AND kidney cancer, and I recently lost my father to metastatic colorectal cancer. That being said, after having pain in the area of my left ovary, an ultasound found that I have "something" growing on my left ovary. A repeat ultrasound showed that it is growing, and I was giving the choice to leave it and "watch it" or have it removed. I did have a CA-125 blood test, which was "normal".
Avatar n tn The one that was the most debilitating was the panic and anxiety. I had every test done to mankind to find the reason, and everything came back negative. I can't count the time, and money we have spent trying to pinpoint a cause, and after three years of struggling, I finally had the thing removed two weeks ago. I don't know if it was what was causing my problems, but through the process of elimination, I totally believe it was.
Avatar n tn In her case, her pregnancy only 'stuck' when she felt 'as sick as a parrot' - this is presumably the point at which the pregnancy hormones kick in and it is for these that the pregnancy test is looking for. This by no means is going to be the same for everybody - evidently, some never have high enough hormones to test positive. In my case, though, I think it meant my body was trying to be pregnant but not quite succeeding.
Avatar n tn just had 1vf after 4 years of trying to get pg and a loss of one ovary and tube. It has been 5 days since the transfer and I just started cramping. But after BM i feel better. Is it a good sign or bad sign. I am so worried. i am 32 and we transfered 2 babies.. my blood work is to be on the 28th but how soon before then can I do a Preg.
Avatar f tn When I had it removed, I did bleed a little and my doctor said as soon as my regular period resumed I could start trying to get pregnant. Three years of every fertility test and drug and I still could not get pregnant. Finally blood work revealed that my eggs were all gone. I had no other options. The next four years were a living hell, emotionally and physically. My mother and grandmother both did not go through the change until they were 55 years old.
Avatar f tn I dont think that this has anything to do with the sinus infection, as I am on antibiotics. My doctor drew blood yesterday in order to test me for just about everything. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea as to what might be causing these unbearable fever like symptoms and low body temperature?
516780 tn?1296520175 I really liked him at first, he thought it was MS too because I failed the foot test, had L'Hermittes and the strength in the left side of my body was WAY different (less) than my right and I fell over three times when he had me stand up straight with my eyes closed. Which I still cannot do and my friends think it's hilarious to watch me do it...not in a mean way, but they don't have these problems and thing it's outrageous that someone can't stand up with their eyes closed.
Avatar n tn 3 1/2 months of 24/7 irregular heart beats. Got a Rheumatoid Factor test back of 79.5 (HIGH). My ANA was fine. Docs don't think I have Rheumatoid. Doc says I have Fibromylogia. Was diagnosed with ulcerated colitis. (now doc thinks i have ischemic colitis). Pins and needles are now all over my entire body. Stabbing pain. Also have heat skin sensations. Just had a stress test stating I have a blockage in my heart. My heart feels SO shaky ALL of the time.
Avatar f tn I have my colonoscopy scheduled for the 19th of December and doctor wants to run a tube down my esophagus to see what else is going on in there right after that; should I do that test before the colonoscopy? What else could it be and should I be doing anything else? I also had an abdominal ultrasound done last week and everything turned out normal. I carry arounf 40-50 pounds of stenographer equipment everyday, so just wondering if I could have ruptured something.
Avatar n tn Is this true should I had been on bed rest longer???? Was told pregnancy test will be done 14 days after transfer. I cheated did a home test 10 days after- mid morning (not 1st urine) came back negative-is this a false negative did I jump too soon could i still be pregnant 3days from now???????
Avatar f tn my neuro opthamologist said the drops must have beenn 'bad'(they were ordered that day specific for my test at a large university hospital) because neither eye dialted...she never had seen that before.
