I enjoy the working out....I have read it can help your mood so I am all for that. I am also hoping that it wil help make delivery easier and faster. Anything to get extra oxygen and blood to your baby is good. Good luck...I hope you find something that works...I think it will really pay off in the end.
Avatar f tn If you have an iPhone, look up the 7 minute workout app (it's free). It's basically 12 high intensity exercises, 30 seconds each with 10 second rest periods in-between. Like you, I'm close to plus size and and just started this ap about a week ago. It kicked my butt the first few days but it's getting easier and you can modify it (I do girl push-ups instead of regular push-ups).

Don't cut out meats; they're a major source of iron and vitamin B12, both of which are essential for providing energy. Make sure you opt for leaner (low fat) cuts and stick to smaller portions. Opt for chicken or fish, as much as you like; just make sure it's grilled, broiled, or baked vs fried.

Jogging, walking, race-walking, exercising at home (I use books with callisthenics and weight bearing exercises) are all free. Books can be found low cost at bookstores or used bookstores and even on eBay. A jumprope is a helpful way to get QUICK cardio exercise, but work up slowly.
Avatar f tn You might also want to have some simple blood tests done to rule out a thyroid condition, called hypothyroidism (under active thyroid), which makes weight gain difficult to impossible. The tests you need are TSH, Free T3 and Free T4.

I'm bypassing a million treats (I'm staying at my sister's, a block away from a dairy farmstand with ice cream, jellies & jams, pies and homemade breads, maple syrup & honey)...but everyday, I step on the scale expecting to have dropped---even 0.2 lbs---and instead it's the same old weight. I'm falling further & further behind the pink line (target weight). I look in the mirror and despise what I see.

Avatar f tn Early on in your pregnancy you can basically follow your pre-baby workout routine at a lower intensity. It is important to keep your heart rate lower, but you should be able to maintain the same activities (Lifting,running, etc.) into the second trimester. The key is to listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain. I ran until about 30 weeks and did sit ups through the first trimester and feel like that has been a large part of my complication free pregnancy (so far at least). I am 38Wks+2.

Avatar f tn There are a ton of free exercises that you can get off the internet - spark people has a bunch, youtube has some, etc. Just do a search for "free exercise routines" or free exercises and see what you come up with. Some cable companies even have an exercise channel and don't forget my favorite - yoga!! That can be found both on the internet and on cable channels. DVD's are not too expensive (watch for them on sale), so you can get a couple of those.
1285110 tn?1420147378 The only time I gain weight is whenever I stop exercising for weeks. But once I go back to my exercise routine I do lose weight and regain my fitness. My dieting involves eating whatever food is in front of me but with great moderation. Good luck though in your challenge.

You could get an exercise video, you could join a gym, buy some home exercise equipment (winters are long in Ohio, you'd use it!), even just do exercises while watching tv. Health weight loss plans can be found everywhere online. But do make sure it is a healthy weight loss plan. You are motivated to lose weight and that is great, but people who do radical diets generally can't maintain them.
