Avatar f tn said that if I did improve by my next visit we would begin to discuss surgical options. What would these options include?
418466 tn?1207114132 Do NOT attempt to remove this drain by yourself. I can understand another vet wanting the surgical report, but it shouldn't stop them from treating your dog. That doesn't sound right to me at all. If you're having problems finding a competent vet, you could try starting with your local SPCA or Humane Society. Explain the situation to them and I'm sure they'll come up with a vet who will happily get this thing safely out of your dog's ear.
Avatar m tn fibrocystic changes with mild ductal epithelial hyperplasia) Now I am concern if it needs mastectomy because of the pathologist statement no.1 As her physician is not available not please help me with your information.
Avatar n tn thats all i gotta say about that the only thing i can add is to do all of your research on this procedure and the after effects no matter what you are told by anyone...i would try to find a video of the procedure as it is done on line and then the after effects with visuals....good luck and i sincerely hope it works out well for you and you can put your heart situation and your issues behind you...i know it is very difficult.....
Avatar m tn i think its excessive what they are trying to charge me, and i was thinking about poping them with a needle and applying a week of antibiotics or something... because the operation basically is to remove the contents of the chalazion and then the curettage, so, by poping them i will be removing the contents but no curettage will be made. I have tried the hot compresses but there isnt any change after 4 months...
Avatar m tn First of all the circumflex needs to be as free of disease as possible because this is feeding the right side. If the blockages in the circumflex get worse, then blood will be less available for both the right side of the heart and the left side/rear. I would look into the possibilities of having the blockage in the right artery opened using stents also. If the muscle near the left apex is viable, then I would probably be looking to bypass.A nuclear scan would be very valuable here.
Avatar m tn Every surgical operation has its risks depending on your age or if you have other comorbid conditions (hypertension, diabetes, stroke, etc). Complications include difficulty of breathing, heart problems, kidney problems during or after the operation, though these can be minimized with proper pre-operation evaluation (usually by an internist, or cardiologist).

1060769 tn?1254977492 Postponing the operation as long as reasonably possible is a good thing. You avoid unnecessary surgical risks by doing that. A few people actually die during heart surgery. It's not like having your tonsils out. It's a lot more major than that. It's not something to jump into, just to "get it over with." Also, if you can postpone your operation, you may be able to take advantage of advanced surgical technology later on.
Avatar f tn I had the first one done in April as part of general health check, although then I was going to have hysterectomy as planned surgical procedure for known large adenomyoma. Because of rising CA 125, I had an urgent CT abdomen and pelvis. It showed same large uterine mass most likely an adenomyoma ( 8-9 cms in diameter) and two small ovarian cysts ( 2 cms in diameter) on the right side, I was on day 4 of my cycle. these cysts were not present on transvaginal scan 2 months earlier.
Avatar n tn If the percentage is less than 29%, a surgical operation is at a high risk and a surgeon may not recommend an operation as the risk may exceed the benefit. Or the estimated dimensions of the heart may be insignificant, and your mom is relatively good health and the risk is minimal.

Avatar f tn Therefore, surgical intervention is essential to remove the large cyst and if permanent damage needs to be avoided. Craniotomy, needle aspiration and cerebral shunts are common surgical treatment that may help. But, surgical modalities may have some complications depending upon size of cyst. Before opting for surgical procedures, you should evaluate both the pros and cons with the help of a neurosurgeon. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Bow legs or genu varum can be corrected in adults by surgical remodeling. The exact type of surgical technique would depend on the severity and the exact location of the defect. Temporarily orthotic devices may be used to provide symptomatic relief, though a permanent cure may require a surgery in adults. It would be best to consult an orthopedician for a detailed review and appropriate management.
Avatar n tn Since I have a back injury, I was quite interested in a TV show within the last year or so, I think it was on the Learning Channel or perhaps one of the Discovery Channels, a documentary about a child who had scoliosis and had the operation you're referring to. You could do a search at their websites and see can you get the video for it.
Avatar m tn Hi l am having cataract surgery later this year, l saw a youtube video where a guy who had cataract surgery was given a needle either in or near his eye before surgery , l think it was either to numb the pain or to stop his eyes from moving during surgery, he said he had some long term problems from it. If you don't want any needles pre surgery as ananesthetic or keep your eyes still can you have the option of just having eye drops only? .
Avatar f tn It was then removed surgically He has not yet been told whether he is to have further chemo sessions. The consultants say they will know in about 2 weeks from operation date. Is this a 'bad sign'; would they not know the extent of the cancer from initial tests that were done, or at least from the time of the operation itself? We are very concerned for him and would be grate for your opinion.
Avatar m tn The risk of getting the toric would have been the possibility of the toric rotating out of alignment, and needing another operation to realign, with the attendant risk that goes with any eye operation.
