Avatar f tn Can anyone direct me to a good website that will teach me how and what to eat. I am sure I am going to get a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes this week. My blood glucose this AM when I woke up was 200. It's been running about 125-130 all week. I also get some pretty low numbers during the day and start to feel weak and jittery. I'd just like to see what the diet looks like before I go in to see my doctor. Thanks.
915119 tn?1341948989 s a little too soon to think about this, but what are your diet plans after the baby is born? I definitly have to get on a diet as I have gained a lot of weight. When I had my last daughter I got on the "Herbalife" diet and lost all my baby weight plus about 15 extra pounds but I want to consider other diets before getting on that strict "Herbalife" diet. It's hard for me because I am a picky eater, but I want to eat healthy!! Any suggestions?? What are your plans?
Avatar f tn Their intensive diabetes research helps individual to know more about diabetes and show some tips/ways on how to prevent and minimize the effects of diabetes and most of all they provide diabetes menu plans to help manage diabetes for those who suffer the illness. Hope that helps in some way.
1722607 tn?1335747858 Your insurance company offers a selection of plans to your employer to choose from - sort of a menu of options. Your employer may or may not give you a choice of plans, depending on the size of your organization. The premiums will vary according to deductibles, copays for office visits and prescriptions, etc. You should ask your employer for paper copy of the details of the selected plan.
Avatar f tn I think there are two types of Weight Watchers plans you can do, the plan where you count points and the one where it is a lower carb diet. Anyways, I gained weight on weight watchers before, when there wasn't the lower carb choice. I am now doign South Beach and have had success this week.
Avatar f tn Google "scarsdale diet" and you can check out the menu
Avatar n tn Dear winkster, Actually a diabetic diet is really only what a healthy diet would be for people without diabetes. And fruits are a part of that even though they have sugar it get metabolized like any other carbohydrates.
Avatar n tn t be fooled by sugar free food items ~ they may be sugar free, however they are probably NOT carbohydrate free and that's the important ingredient for both type 1's and type 2's. As far as "free foods", veggies (other than corn or potatoes), cheeses, peanut butter, meats are some foods that are free of carbs and can be eaten freely as long as they aren't heavy in calories and fat.
Avatar n tn You need to add some type of meat, dairy, eggs, beans, legumes or something with protein and since vitamin B-12 only comes from animal products you either need to supplement or add some of those animal products to your diet. You also need calcium for strong bones and teeth, etc, plus fat to help keep you satisfied.
163305 tn?1333668571 I sent a pm to the moderators about the missing drop down menu and got the following reply: Thank you for contacting us to share your feedback with us. We are continually trying to improve MedHelp and value your feedback. As you have noticed, we made some changes to the MedHelp site and one of those changes included the removal of some of the drop-down menu options available under the My MedHelp link. At this time I do not know whether or not any of the removed menu items will be put back.
Avatar f tn t necessarily what will set you off. For me I have to be completely dairy, red meat, pork, and egg yolk free (and obviously anything pan fried or deep fried). I also have to be limiting in my avocado, oils, coconut, poultry, spicy foods, citrus or acidic foods, and oily fish. So, for me, there is nothing from the frozen or prepared section that I can safely eat. I will also warn you many people react to dairy, red meat, pork, and eggs.
Avatar m tn What are your current thyroid hormone levels? You should be getting tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH on a regular basis. Sounds like you might need an adjustment to your medication. For many of us, once we become hypo, foods like pizza have to come off the menu, or at least be eaten only rarely. You have to take in less calories than you use in order to lose weight. Make sure you get plenty of exercise.
Avatar n tn Gluten free or paleo diet I have found effective. No wheat or white bread, rice, potato. Hardy nuts and seeds will lower blood sugar numbers. Working on alternative receipies.
Avatar n tn I dont see anything that says menu in my app. I have My Diet Diary app and just need the simple answer of how to delete food added by mistake.
Avatar f tn For those of you who have been through a total thyroidectomy, I know that you fast from midnight on, and then they said it's a liquid diet the next day. I am prediabetic and have reactive hypoglycemia, and it's bad so I need to eat every 2 hrs. or so. (very difficult for me to fast) I don't eat any sugar or artificial sweetners. I have some low glycemic fruit, but fruit juices are too full of sugar. What type of liquids do they give you?
Avatar n tn Hi ozarkskye, my advice is based on my own experience, as I'm not a physician but have been a diabetic for 11 years. There are many diet plans for diabetics, but the ones that work best are usually custom-made for individuals, tailored to their specific needs by their nutritionist/dietitian. Was the diet plan your doctor gave you created with your input and have you discussed your concerns with him?
Avatar n tn can dieting cause chect pain? I am on 10 days diet program of which i only allowed to take fruits, meat, chicken and vegetables. (as usual diet menu) recently, i feel there's a sharp pain in my right chest. Any idea how it is connected?
510230 tn?1211721183 s taking me off the 400mcg of levothroxine for the next week and putting me on the low iodine diet.the menu suggests a turkey sandwich, so i go to the deli and got some turkey , then i get home and im looking the diet up on line and a few said no turkey..does anyone have some suggestions on what i can eat thats quick and easy. oh and can i use the powdered creamer for my coffee, and drink diet pepsi? help, im so hungry..lol..
637356 tn?1301924822 Im not sure if any website would offer that for free (there might be, but I don't know of any for free). But to be honest if you cut out any type of soda, junk food and excess sugar you will see weight loss. You could also try googling "healthy meals" and see what you can come up with and kind of put everything together. also if you try not to eat to many bread products that will also help with the weight loss too. Good Luck!!!
172023 tn?1334672284 Menu sounds good, I looked at a bag of broccoli slaw at the store today and put it back down because I am not sure how to prepare it. I love coleslaw but was thinking that I could toss some vinegar, lemon and pepper in with the broccoli slaw for a healthy alternative. Do you just add yours to salad? And also, I love laughing cow cheese, I spead it over a few fat-free salteens for a snack. I actually prefer the light laughing cow to regular hard cheeses.
