monopril

Avatar f tn I had a problem before with Potassium loss from HCTZ. I was taken off of it when I went to the emergency ward, for certain symptons. My pressure is fine now unless Im in a Dr.s office. .... Now I take Fosinopril 40 and Verapamil 80 twice a day which is working perfectly.. The last docter wanted to try me on HCTZ once more telling me to drink alot of orange juice. After a month of taking it he realized I dont need them. My pressure goes up with anxiety of docters.
Avatar m tn I would like to know if these are side effects of the meds or if it is possible i have some disease that affects my joints/disks as well as raises my BP?
Avatar f tn Haven't started the new medication yet. I read the info sheet and it said "this medication may cause vision loss or other unwanted side effects" although most of the common vision problems and eye pain may be temporary and would be reversed if stopping the medication was what I was told. Further research says HCTZ may be associated with severe eye conditions that may lead to permanent impairment such as glaucoma etc, although I don't know how common that is.
Avatar m tn I have not heard of side effects as severe as yours. Some nausea may occur, but not like this. Most side effects are temporary and involve saliva glands and taste buds.I don't know anything about HCTZ/LINSINOPRIL. Good luck.
Avatar f tn dry mouth, shortness of breath. They did lower my pressure though. Along with these, I took HCTZ 12.5 mg which also have me those same sided effects. Doctor took me off ALL BP meds and my nose bled uncontrollably and I wound up in the hospital and was given clonidine as my pressure reached 100/97. Now I'm on 100 mg of losartan, no HCTZ, only a cough but....my pressure is not controlled and goes up as the day progresses.
Avatar m tn My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol? I'm not sure I want to switch if the side effects will be the same. Does anyone have experience with metoprolol?
Avatar f tn My dr wants to put me on jardiance but I heard about some issues with side effects
Avatar m tn Well we have a lot of similarities, I'm a inch or two taller and a few pounds heavier... but a lot older. In any case I'd discuss the possible medication side effects with the doctor prescribing them. Some times side effects are worse than the problem they are treating. We all have to decide which is best, trouble symptoms or side effects.
Avatar m tn Medications of all sorts very often have side effects and that is also weighed with the potential gain of taking the medication for its intended purpose. Which means if the medication can save your life, some side effects may be worth it. But this is all up to a patient, very individual and their doctor to discuss. Never feel like you are being a pain to a doctor because your advocating for yourself.
Avatar f tn of Cardizem LA once a day and was curious if anyone else here was taking this medication? If so, what side effects do or did you have? So far (only the first day) I haven't had any. Also, did the medication work for you as far as lowering your blood pressure?
Avatar n tn Crestor is to control cholesterol, have more offen side effects but doses of 10 mg are the lowest , and side effects can be abdominal pain (not chest). So is better to talk to the doctor about this side effects. She is very well medicated but allergic reactions can happen. TALK TO TE DOCTOR is all I can tell.
219609 tn?1210348114 While this is reported in the handout on HCTZ, there is not much published in the clinical thyroid literature about an effect on thyroid levels and I have not noted in practice that HCTZ alters thyroid levels in any significant way. So it is unclear if it had an effect in your case. An US could be done to see if there is any significant thyroid tissue -- that would not prove it is active tissue, but be a starting point to see how much is there.
Avatar n tn I understand your concern regarding the symptoms and while side effects from medications may be responsible, further evaluation may need to be done. It is best that you discuss this with your doctor and you update any new symptoms that you experience for proper management. Change in medication or dosage may be indicated. Regular BP monitoring and lifestyle modification such as low salt diet may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar m tn Dude, it means you have to give up drinking alcohol. If you want to feel more or less normal and treat yourself sometimes , so you can try medical cannabis. It's better than most of prescribed drugs cause there are fewer tangible side effects. Here's link, read about it http://www.ncm.
Avatar f tn You can either read the insert that your med bottle comes with, ask your pharmacist or look each med up online for their side effects. If the tremors get too bad their are meds to take to help them should you choose to stay on that med.

Avatar m tn They have a completely different mechanism and usually have fewer side effects. Don;t give up, your doctor can find one that works well for you with minimal side effects.
Avatar f tn You condition sounds too complicated for me to directly relate, but I can say Metoprolol has been in use for a long time by many people, it is safe. I do not mean from that it is "good" for your body in any sense other than reducing you heart symptoms...if it does that. I take high dose Metoprolol (200 mg) a day, and it does have some side effects, especially in high dose...you didn't say way dose you are taking.
Avatar n tn Amiodarone is a very strong arrythma medication and is usually used on folks who have had afib for a very long time and other meds dont work... Amiodarone has some pretty serious side effects.... and its my personal opinion, but I wouldnt want to be on it unless it was absolutely necessary. I had afib for 12-13 years and finally had if fixed a couple of years ago with an ablation...I dont know if the BP symptoms your having would have anything to do with the Amiodarone.
Avatar m tn Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.
