Common Questions and Answers about Foot ulcer ointment

foot

Avatar f tn That question is too vague to answer. Sometimes yes but often no. There are quite a few different types of corneal ulcers.
Avatar m tn m not sure if this is a DVT question but it was a DVT that caused the problem I need help with. I have been dealing with a stasis ulcer on my right ankle for years now. It heals up for a time then breaks open again and it is very painful. I have tried everything from just staying off it to wound care specialists. I normally get it to heal with promogan prisma & Silver alginate but not this time. I wear compression hose to help with blood flow when the ulcer allows.
Avatar f tn Later that night at home before bed (Tues night) as I pulled out my mirror and got my gloves on to examine my vulva and put on Bethamethason ointment, like I do every night, I noticed a small white round ulcer under my urethra on top of my vaginal opening. It didn't hurt much cause my whole vagina in general has been hurting for 6 months so I can't distinguish pain. I had not seen anything like it the night before nor did I notice any vesicles. It just randomly showed up.
Avatar f tn but I notice is wen I stand so much on my foot..try using any hot ointment n place ur legs on a pillow n relax on d bed...
Avatar n tn In the mean time, how can I keep the infection from progressing? Should I pour rubbing alcohol on it or something like that? Antibiotic ointment? Any advice will be very helpful. If the pain gets much worse or spreads, I will call an ambulance and go to the ER, but without insurance I really need to avoid that kind of expense if I can.
Avatar m tn Tell your friend to get to his doctor immediately! He has diabetic foot ulcer and if it gets infected, he could have to face amputation of the foot and possibly his leg. Don't mess around with waiting for an appointment either! Get him in or take him to the emergency room.
Avatar m tn The fracture clinic wrapped my foot well with roll gauze between each toe to separate them from each other before putting my foot back in the boot and the ulcer was able to dry out and get better.
Avatar m tn s unlikely that the headache is from Mupirocin ointment. Systemic effects are rare with this ointment. Local reactions like rash, erythema and tenderness are likely to occur. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn The monistat cream did not appear to make the area worse.... I started applying antibiotic ointment and it seemed like the area became raised and irritated (almost ulcer-like in appearance). This was when I decided to go to the doctor. The doctor tested me for several things... she determined that I might have a bladder infection and that I have gardnerella vaginosis. She gave me medication for the vaginosis and we are still waiting on the bladder infection test.
Avatar m tn I cleaned it and used neosporin ointment on it. I was already on an antibiotic for a sore throat and sinus infection. After a week it had advanced very little in healing. It was red all around, but no streaking. I kept it open and stopped the ointment due to the lack of scabbing over. I began to develop an itchy rash around the area. I used a cortisone cream on the rash only to relieve the itching. The injury finally began to close up and formed a large scab.

Avatar f tn I have RA and OA For several months I have been having a reoccurring problem with my foot. I had it on both feet but not at the same time. My left foot seems to be the one that gets it more and worst. It will start with a burning sensation, then later a horrible itch, on the sole of my foot. Then when the itching stops it leaves a perfectly round circle that hurts to walk on or touch. The more I keep my foot raised seems to help.
Avatar n tn Stable glicemic index with an ulcer on diabetic foot but today this white goo apperead inside the ulcer. Someone knows what should I do as it's very complicated to make an earlier appointment with my doctor.
Avatar f tn Will this affect my pregnancy? And if I use an anti-fungal ointment to treat the ringworm will it affect anything? Its in its beginning stages so its not bad at all right now.
Avatar f tn Monday night, I felt what I thought was a mosquito bite on the side of my right foot, I was sitting at a dinner table so I just moved my foot out of my shoe and scratched it with the other foot, not looking at it. It continued to itch and when I looked at it, I noticed a blister. I went home and examined the blister and ended up popping it. It mad a lesion/ulcer, not sure the term, but I was not a superficial blister.
Avatar m tn Once i got home i cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide, water, and antibiotic ointment. Then sealed it with a gauze and bandaid. Its now been 3 days and the foot is swelling and there is some redness. There is almost no pain and no other symptoms of infection besides the ones i have states. Oh and also the puncture is pretty deep almost to where the bone is visible.
Avatar f tn t remember touching my scalp and I was careful enough to wash my hands everytime. I was prescribed ointment and it went away within a week. During that same time, I had pink eye and I did the ointment for that too. Now my scalp has been having excessive hairloss especially around the temporal region. I also have itchiness, but not too much, some usual pimples, and burning sensation. My lymph nodes are nonexistent to very small. Could it be ringworm? Should I go to the doctor?
Avatar m tn My cat was diagnosed with ulcer on his eye. The vet prescribed some medicine and said it should heal in 2 weeks but it has been over a month or more and the results are very small or almost non existent. He was prescribed a medicine called Solcoseryl Eye-Gel ( link here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6472796) and vitamin A eye gel.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have some kind of skin condition on my 2nd toe on my right foot and on my left thumb. For the past two years (possibly longer) it has been dry, flaking and cracks open and bleeds. Most importantly I am concerned about my toe so this is what I will talk about. When it first started occuring I thought it may be tinea so I tried every cream and ointment on the market which only seemed to make it worse. When I put moisturiser on it, it also seems to make it worse.
Avatar f tn She tells me it is not a fungus but a form of eczema. She ruled out athletes foot. Does anyone else have a better solution than what the doctor me to use. I plan to call her office and tell her over the counter IS NOT working. I am 47 and when I was a teenageer I used to have excessive sweating on my hands and had the same tiny blisters and itching and later formed to bigger blisters. I finally was diagnosed with hyperhidrosis eczema...is this the same thing that is going on with my feet.
Avatar m tn If it is like a boil or a raised bump, especially if it has pus in it, then it could be bacterial. Do you have neosporin or another antibiotic topical ointment or cream? Put some of that on and see if it gets better. It could be a fungus but they don't get bigger as in round, but they spread around. If it is very itcy and flat and is spreading but not a boil and not raised or a bump, rather it is just flat and spreading, and it makes your foot peel it probably is athelete's foot.
