Common Questions and Answers about Foot pain under second toe

foot

Avatar f tn Ok this sounds weird but under my big toe and second toe under the the skin of the ball of the foot it feels like there is fluid there. No pain, no swelling but it feels like a blister under the skin. Any ideas as to what it is. Was in a accident about 3 weeks ago, was rear ended nor major injuries just some spazzing muscles in neck and back. But this problem hasn't gone away yet.
5091090 tn?1363467915 Hi! I am sorry to hear about your pain. One possibility is that the orthopedic shoe inserts have either suffered wear and tear or a misalignment and are now not as effective as before. The other possibility is that you have a pinched nerve. Plantar fasciitis and arthritis of small joints of foot are also some local causes that need to be ruled out. Until you can consult a doctor, dip your feet in warm water at the end of your day. Soak for 10-15 minutes.
Avatar f tn Under ball of the foot skin, under big toe and second toe ite feels like there's a blister under the skin. There is no pain or swelling just the feeling of a blister. Was in an accident 3 weeks ago with some spazzing muscles in neck and back but they have since recovered but the feeling of the fluid under the skin even when bending the toes is still on going. No pain in any movement of toes. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you.
Avatar f tn My left big toe gives a shooting pain with the toe-off movement. It has been feeling this way since June of 2010 and there was no trauma that I know of, but I did wear a pair of shoes that was tight over the metatarsal-phalangeal joint. I have tried stretches, tucking the big toe under and pressing my big toe down lifting my heel with some relief.
Avatar n tn Hi The fourth toe on my left foot around the toe nail on the side nearest the fifth toe is very painful I thought it was an ingrown toe nail but there is no redness or pus just pain - it feels very sensitive if anything touches it and so i am very limited what shoes i can wear The toes on my left foot are quite wonky - the second toe is a hammer toe and the fourth toe that is giving me the pain bends round behind the middle toe quite badly.
Avatar f tn For the past three or four years I have had severe pain in my toes when bearing weight on my foot. When sitting down there is no pain but when I stand and start walking the pain is extreme when bearing weight on the foot. Examination by a phisio, orthopedic surgeon and podiatrist have not been able to help. I have been prescibed various drugs including baclofen and pregabalin but still no joy. Anyone have a similar experience and information would be appreciated.

Avatar f tn I have been expierencing a sharp shooting pain at the top of my right foot between the small toe and the second toe. It usually happens on and off and at rest. I usaully get it for two, three days and then goes away for a month or two and then I get it again.
335728 tn?1331414412 My second toe curls under my large toe and it's so painful. Glad to know this is definately linked to my MS and it's not some other strange disease I have yet to discover.
Avatar m tn On July 6th my I had ankle tightrope surgery. Immediately after the surgery I had pain between my big toe and the second toe. It was excruciating for the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. This pain eventually seemed to subside and after 4 weeks on crutches I was walking in a walking boot and after 7 weeks I was walking with no cast. I have since gone to 5 weeks of physical therapy and am walking pretty well. As soon as the walking boot was gone I had severe pain across the bottom of my foot.

Avatar f tn One odd thing is that somedays the toes do not hurt at all or they will shift from toes on the left foot to the right foot, though the right foot is the most affected foothe pain starts in the toe and seems to run into my foot. (Nerve?) I am at my wits end. I love racewalking and I was walking 5 to 6 miles a day and racing a 5K on Saturdays. I am unable to walk that far on most days now. The pain is just too excruciating.
Avatar f tn I had surgery for tarsal tunnel (it is like carpal tunnel only in the foot). That helped the horrible burning pain on the inside of my foot but did nothing for the outside or the Achilles pain. Two years multiple doctors, tests, nerve blocks, and physical therapy did nothing. It was not until I saw a chiropractor that I started to get relief. You might want to see if you can find a good gentle chiropractor to treat your foot.
Avatar n tn He is not the podiatrist that did my first surgery and said that the first surgery was somehow not done correctly and that now he would have to go in and do three incisions(one on the big toe, the 2nd toe and the 3rd toe. He said recovery time would be about 8 weeks and I would have to wear a boot that comes up to my knee. I do not know if I should consider having a second surgery? Has anyone else ever had a second surgery to correct a previous bunion surgery? If so, what were the results?

Avatar n tn After my cast came off I noticed a large amount of blood underneath a callus on the bottom of my foot (under my little toe). After removing the callus I noticed a hole in the bottom of my foot that bled (not caused by me removing the callus too deep) I had severe pain in my little toe that seemed to be attached to this hole in my foot. For years the callus would grown and there would always be a little speck of blood underneath. I still have pain in this area when ever I stand.
Avatar n tn About 5 days ago I got out of bed and there was a bit of pain in the heel of my left foot, but I ignored it and thought it was just a general pain. About 2 days later, I got a burning, sharp pain on the tip of the second toe on my left foot, but I looked at it and didn't see any visible difference.
Avatar f tn One of the main times it happens is when I have been sitting indian style and the toe some how is bent forward, curling under my foot. My foot will instantly tighten up and the pain is immense. My big toe is the only toe curled under, while the other toes are pointed out same as usual. I have to massage in my arch close to the big toe to get the pain to alleviate. I have had this happen in both feet on many occasions. I have not had any recent issues, however I have had close calls.
1949788 tn?1324469377 this pain continued over night and the next day the pain had spread to the ball off the second toe right from big toe and to the surrounding area of the ball of my big toe. there is no outter reaction like a rash but it really hurts and have no idea what it could be help!!
Avatar m tn In the last 2-3 years have acquired severe pain in ankle and foot! I get a burning pain in center of foot and at the ball behind big toe it stays sore to the touch.. .. Any recommendations!???
Avatar f tn I felt for a few months that things were improving but then the pain increased again and I now also have pain under my toe. I am so disappointed and feel I should never have had the surgery. The pain is at times worse now then it was before surgery.
Avatar f tn Nearly two years later, I am not able to walk properly or much without pain in that there is a callus under the foot in the I think "third metatarsal" area. The operation was on the 2nd toe, the toe next to my big toe. It was a small hammer toe. The result of the failed Weil is: floating hammer toe, the toe is much shorter than the other toes, so I am walking on only four toes.
Avatar m tn HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
345079 tn?1299202476 The second toe is now not only lifted up high but has curved over and now lies atop my middle toe. I have pain in the toe, underneath and on both sides as well as the middle toe from the second toe lying on top of it. My surgeon was refusing to see me as he said he did all he could and didnt even care to see what has happened. I finally got an appt to see him for tomorrow. But I need to go in there with some knowledge that this all isnt normal.
479581 tn?1317757488 Doctor, I had bunion/hammertoe surgery on my left foot 2 1/2 years ago. The bunion required two screws for the repair and the rigid hammertoe had a portion of the joint removed. I recovered from the surgery without complications except that the foot still has pain, swelling and inflamation. There is no infection or stress fracture. Current x-rays show that my big toe is now too short (although the joint space is good) and this has apparently shifted my weight bearing to the 2nd and 3rd toes.
