Common Questions and Answers about Foot pain second toe

foot

Avatar f tn Ok this sounds weird but under my big toe and second toe under the the skin of the ball of the foot it feels like there is fluid there. No pain, no swelling but it feels like a blister under the skin. Any ideas as to what it is. Was in a accident about 3 weeks ago, was rear ended nor major injuries just some spazzing muscles in neck and back. But this problem hasn't gone away yet.
Avatar f tn It feels like you hit your funny bone sorta and the pain goes down to my big toe, which also has a numbness between my big toe and second toe.I do have what they call Mortons toe.My second toe is much longer than my big toe.I went to the doctor and he said he could cut the nerve but Im not sure about that.Any ideas whats going on? Any advice would help.
5091090 tn?1363467915 In other words my left foot second toe curls in a bit at the tip rather than being fully extended like my second toe in my right foot (which is). My right foot second toe seems to be more stretch out (and straight, so it looks a bit longer).. which I find kind of significant since the pain occurs a lot more often in left foot, which is why I think the fact that I have morton's toe MAY have something to do with the pain...
Avatar f tn I have been expierencing a sharp shooting pain at the top of my right foot between the small toe and the second toe. It usually happens on and off and at rest. I usaully get it for two, three days and then goes away for a month or two and then I get it again.
479581 tn?1317757488 Hello, I had they same surgery as you and some infection got in my surgery so they had to took of they plast 1 week after they surgery now it is 5 month they surgery has been done and for my left foot I am steel not aable to bend down my big toes and my weight as bee transfer to my second/third toe they are pain full and some bone spurs grow on my booth foot on they side and on they last toe but it look like the Dr.
Avatar f tn I had surgery for tarsal tunnel (it is like carpal tunnel only in the foot). That helped the horrible burning pain on the inside of my foot but did nothing for the outside or the Achilles pain. Two years multiple doctors, tests, nerve blocks, and physical therapy did nothing. It was not until I saw a chiropractor that I started to get relief. You might want to see if you can find a good gentle chiropractor to treat your foot.
Avatar n tn He is not the podiatrist that did my first surgery and said that the first surgery was somehow not done correctly and that now he would have to go in and do three incisions(one on the big toe, the 2nd toe and the 3rd toe. He said recovery time would be about 8 weeks and I would have to wear a boot that comes up to my knee. I do not know if I should consider having a second surgery? Has anyone else ever had a second surgery to correct a previous bunion surgery? If so, what were the results?
1558461 tn?1295392601 Can cronic Arthritis in a big toe, cause the metatarsal and heel pain to worsen?
Avatar n tn About 5 days ago I got out of bed and there was a bit of pain in the heel of my left foot, but I ignored it and thought it was just a general pain. About 2 days later, I got a burning, sharp pain on the tip of the second toe on my left foot, but I looked at it and didn't see any visible difference.
Avatar f tn My left big toe gives a shooting pain with the toe-off movement. It has been feeling this way since June of 2010 and there was no trauma that I know of, but I did wear a pair of shoes that was tight over the metatarsal-phalangeal joint. I have tried stretches, tucking the big toe under and pressing my big toe down lifting my heel with some relief.
1949788 tn?1324469377 this pain continued over night and the next day the pain had spread to the ball off the second toe right from big toe and to the surrounding area of the ball of my big toe. there is no outter reaction like a rash but it really hurts and have no idea what it could be help!!
Avatar m tn In the last 2-3 years have acquired severe pain in ankle and foot! I get a burning pain in center of foot and at the ball behind big toe it stays sore to the touch.. .. Any recommendations!???
345079 tn?1299202476 The second toe is now not only lifted up high but has curved over and now lies atop my middle toe. I have pain in the toe, underneath and on both sides as well as the middle toe from the second toe lying on top of it. My surgeon was refusing to see me as he said he did all he could and didnt even care to see what has happened. I finally got an appt to see him for tomorrow. But I need to go in there with some knowledge that this all isnt normal.
Avatar n tn Hi The fourth toe on my left foot around the toe nail on the side nearest the fifth toe is very painful I thought it was an ingrown toe nail but there is no redness or pus just pain - it feels very sensitive if anything touches it and so i am very limited what shoes i can wear The toes on my left foot are quite wonky - the second toe is a hammer toe and the fourth toe that is giving me the pain bends round behind the middle toe quite badly.
479581 tn?1317757488 Doctor, I had bunion/hammertoe surgery on my left foot 2 1/2 years ago. The bunion required two screws for the repair and the rigid hammertoe had a portion of the joint removed. I recovered from the surgery without complications except that the foot still has pain, swelling and inflamation. There is no infection or stress fracture. Current x-rays show that my big toe is now too short (although the joint space is good) and this has apparently shifted my weight bearing to the 2nd and 3rd toes.
Avatar m tn I had pain in the second toe which I think is causing pain at the ball of the foot too. I went to an orthopedic and he recommend an MRI as the XRay didnt show anything. I was asked to wear a custom made orthotics with a metatarsal pad but that does not seem to helping in relieving the pain either. What can i do to heal the foot? Below is the MRI report.
Avatar n tn old and they seem to be getting worse, on my left foot, the big toe is pushing the second one up and after standing for an hour or two, my second toe hurts, as does the ball of my foot, to those who have had the op. any regrets ???? I am a bit wary of the recup. time, I still work full time which involves a lot of travel. I have heard you have to prepare your self for an 8 week recuperation ? Could one fly during that time ?
Avatar f tn sorry, I forgot to mention it's my toe specifically that twitches- on my left foot, the third one to the right of my big toe.
Avatar f tn My left foot in the last 2 weeks is showing signs of reverting back to a bent position. My big toe is shifting towards my second toe. My doctor has given me a night splint to keep the toe straight and I see him at the end of the month. My concern is if I will need to have another surgery to keep this toe straight as I feel like I did pre surgery with pain, my bunion area rubbing on my shoe and massive pain.
Avatar f tn For the past three or four years I have had severe pain in my toes when bearing weight on my foot. When sitting down there is no pain but when I stand and start walking the pain is extreme when bearing weight on the foot. Examination by a phisio, orthopedic surgeon and podiatrist have not been able to help. I have been prescibed various drugs including baclofen and pregabalin but still no joy. Anyone have a similar experience and information would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn The podiatrist said he removed a nerve during surgery and consequently I have loss of feeling in the ball of my foot going up to my big toe (entire toe) and half of my second toe. The loss of feeling is partial, and the area of the incision scar is hyper-sensitive. Bottom line- bad result I have subsequently changed care to an ortho doctor specializing in the foot.
Avatar f tn their exercises (toe raise) gave me capsulitis in my other foot. Two years and my second toe has shifted toward the big toe, with the third on its way.......I just has an weil osteotomy on my two toes With hopes of putting the balance back in my forefoot...I wish I never had the bunion surgery to begin with....can't even take my dog for a walk...never mind get to the gym.
Avatar f tn Is it in the actual toe or at the base of the toe near the foot? If it is at the base of the toe near the foot it could be Morton's neuroma, which can be removed surgically by a podiatrist.
Avatar m tn I am having all sorts of pain in my foot and leg and can't seem to get a diagnosis. So far, I've seen two podiatrists, neurologst, PCP, and will see an orthopedic surgeon in about a month. Last year I rolled over my big toe with a pallet jack that had a pallet on it at an old job. Well at the time it didn't break my foot or cause any bruising or any type of problem that required medical attention so I let it go.
20577991 tn?1501111823 Approximately 1 year ago I tried to jump over an object while sprinting and instead ran my foot into the object. I initially did no go to the doctor and simply taped the second toe to the great toe and took about 6 weeks off exercising etc. I finally went to a doctor about 6 months later because I was still having pain and swelling at the proximal end of the second toe and I am unable to curl my great toe.
5091090 tn?1363467915 The best way I can describe it is that at the bottom of my third and fourth toe there is a shooting sensation and I have to flex my foot so that the pain dims down. Sometimes my second toe (next to my big toe) will extend and become longer than normal. I've noticed that it continues to hurt when I have my foot straight...so if it occurs when I am in bed or lying down, I can't keep my leg and foot straight out I have to put my foot in the position as though I were walking (flex it back).
Avatar f tn Under ball of the foot skin, under big toe and second toe ite feels like there's a blister under the skin. There is no pain or swelling just the feeling of a blister. Was in an accident 3 weeks ago with some spazzing muscles in neck and back but they have since recovered but the feeling of the fluid under the skin even when bending the toes is still on going. No pain in any movement of toes. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you.
Avatar m tn My surgeon has me taping my toes so that the big toe and the next toe come together. He said the soft tissue in the foot after being taped for 2 months would eventually bring the toes together. I have been taping the foot for about a month now. My question is, once I stop taping the toes together will they go back to their original state? If the taping doesn't work, the doctor wants to try another procedure.
