Foot pain on top of foot

Common Questions and Answers about Foot pain on top of foot

foot

Avatar n tn I would suggest you to go for an X-ray and check if there is any problem with the talus bone which is present on top of the arch of your foot. As there is very little soft tissue to protect the top of the foot, bone injuries are common. The second, third and fourth Metatarsals are the most commonly injured bones due to something falling on your foot. Without any fracture you would need physiotherapy and anti inflammatory medications to decrease the pain and inflammation.
1017324 tn?1390936445 I have had a dull aching pain on the top middle of the foot. The pain starts about a half inch from the base of my toes and is very centralized. I just went for a 4 mile run and now it is throbbing and a more intense pain. I do not lace my shoes very tightly because I lose circulation when I do. I do wear Innov8 shoes, which are minimalist shoes, and I have been running on a treadmill with an emphasis of trying to run on the balls of my feet rather than pounding down through the heel.
Avatar m tn I'm a runner and recently got a pain on top of foot, as if my laces were too tight 9they may have been!) recently been doing a lot of off road running on uneven hard surface. it seems to be in the Extensor Hallucis Brevis area and there is a squashy lump the size of a smallish coin in that area, which isn't really painful to touch. If I loosen my laces in that area I can walk and do a bit of running without too much discomfort.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend has a large (palm size) rash on top of his foot ( has a very shingle-like rash in appearance). The only reason I say this is because he just recovered from shingles recently. The rash doesn't look like "heat rash"...because of the pink background and rash isn't evenly distributed. It is also not at the bottom of his feet or in between his toes. it also has a white/clearish looking tiny blisters all over.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I keep getting a like cramp feeling on top of my foot/ankle area. It comes on having walked the shortest of distances. When I stretch the foot out it is also painful as would happen when trying to get rid of cramp. It is primarily in the right foot but the left foot is joining in too now. But I've really only heard of cramp in the instep of the foot. Has anyone else experienced this? any ideas what to do about it.
11079760 tn?1483386130 I know this thread is kind of old but I just had to respond.......I am a 42 y/o F who was DX with Sjogren's Syndrome in April of this year. This autoimmune journey is new to me and I know that it can be a long & confusing journey. But when I read the header of your question it caught my eye. I have been having tingling/burning in my right toes only......and what I call "needle-like" sticks all over the tops & sides of my right foot. Never on the heel or the sole.....
Avatar f tn I saw my ankle surgeon a couple of weeks ago and I had just found out that I have a bone spur on the top of my right foot (the same foot and ankle that I had surgery on in April 2008). He told me to do some ankle exercises to relieve some of the pain. He didn't do anything with the bone spur yet. I go see him again October 15. My question is: Will the ankle exercises help the bone spur disappear or will I need to get surgery to remove the bone spur?
Avatar m tn I have read multiple posts about this and have also read about the Mortons condition, but I think mine is different. On occasion such as last night, I was awoke by a stabbing pain on the top of my right foot. I refer to these as "labor pains" because you can feel the jolt coming on and it lasts for a couple of seconds then subsides. It is like a burning electrical shock. It will continue to do it at anywhere from 30 to 45 second intervals. My toes are unaffected.
Avatar f tn For several months now I have had progressive pain on my left foot on the medial side just before the arch. The pain is worse when I walk, but also occurs when i move it just right, put pressure on the ball of my foot, or even if one of the kids puts pressure on my lap when my feet are on the floor. Walking up or down stairs hurts as well. The pain can either be a dull ache along the side of my foot (not on the bottom) or a shooting pain that goes across the top of my foot (near my leg).
Avatar f tn A 3 pound can was dropped on the top of my foot today,I am experiencing swelling and pain that shoots down to my toes ands up my leg.I can still walk on my foot but it hurts.Could I have a small fracture on the top of my foot?
Avatar f tn It started with the top of my foot hurting, like someone had stepped on it. I now have a hard lump that is painful to the touch. I am wondering if this serious and if I need to see a podiatrist. I am a little concerned about what this could be.
7763229 tn?1396626895 So I don't know what happened but the top of my left foot on my vein hurts sooon bad to touch. I rubbed it today and almost fell to the floor in pain. Could i have busted a blood vessel? Is it pregnancy related?
Avatar n tn Now my right foot is swollen still two days later. The pain is on the top of my right foot on the inner side. No bruise but very discomforting. Sometimes, I can not put any weight on it and the pain is unbearable. A red color bout the size of a half dollar piece is visible and the skin is very warm to the touch. Any suggestions of what this may be?
Avatar f tn it finally went away, but left what was originally just thought to be a small skin flap on the top of the foot (was flexible, soft, no pain)...then went hard as nails and it hurt like heck whenever anything touched it (even the wind).,..then it grew up...looked like I had some kind of growth, was solid white and the top was black and bulbous....
Avatar f tn I have been expierencing a sharp shooting pain at the top of my right foot between the small toe and the second toe. It usually happens on and off and at rest. I usaully get it for two, three days and then goes away for a month or two and then I get it again.
Avatar f tn Another way to describe it is that it feels like I have very severe bruising on the tops of my feet. (There is a very small bit of bruising on the lump on my right foot) but the pain and lump is on both feet. The weird thing is that noone can tell how excruciating the pain is as I can't really limp - bc it's both of my feet, it looks like I am walking normally... until I stumble or something. The pain is sooooo so bad. Im seriously about to break emotionally from this pain.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've been having foot pain on the middle top part of my foot for about 2 years now. The foot pain is only present with strenuous exercise, especially after a long period of rest. When there is pain, some burning feeling is also present. I think that this pain started when I either dropped some textbooks on my foot or when I jumped down on it too hard. There is no swelling or redness.
Avatar f tn my right foot between top of heel and bottom of arch has been hurting so badly for about 3 months. any ideas? read in a reflexology book could be bladder issues? also heard could be plantar fasciitis?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced top of foot pain or achilles pain associated with MS? And has anyone had the shocks in your tongue?
Avatar n tn I twisted over the top of my right foot. No impact of the foot occured but I have a lot of pain coming from the top of the foot. I spent two hours in casualty last night but was advised that no break could be seen on the x ray of the metatarsal (2nd -3rd). The doctor was a bit dismissive but this morning I have struggled to walk and the pain is worse. Am I right in thinking that the X-rays should have been taken whilst standing up? This wasn’t the case.
Avatar n tn For the last 6-8 weeks I have been having pain when I step on my feet in the morning, it feels like the bones in the top of my foot are pressing together, I generally goes away once I walk on it until I sit a while. Until later in the evening it beguins again. Lately though it feels like a nerve or something is being pinched in my shin and I have to take ibuprophen before going to bed so that it doesn't wake me.
Avatar f tn When playing volleyball, an opponent landed squarely on top of my foot. I have mild pain and a popping feeling between big toe and next toe, about 2" from the bottom of the toes. I can walk, but it forces me to limp. No discoloration, no swelling (or so little I can't tell). This was 2 days ago. I played with no pain right afterwards. Went home, no pain. Woke up the next morning with the pain and the popping sensation. What treatment(s) are needed?
