Many of us with MS do experience pain, but it is usually confined to one spot. For me it's my left foot. Pain is generally a secondary MS symptom, rather than a first, or presenting, symptom. Your bowel and bladder issues are aalso common among MS folks.
Avatar m tn My peripheral neuropathy seems to be getting worse as time goes on, i am taking gabapentin for the pain, numbness, and tingling. I am starting to gain weight and the medication is not helping as it was at the begining. Is there something specific that need to ask my doctor, maybe a new medication? Avatar f tn I posted earlier about having lower right back pain. I have a cyst on my right ovary and multiple cysts on my right kidney as well. and after my lower right part of my stomach stopped hurting is when my back started hurting I decided to wait it out to see if it would go away on it's on, but now it's starting to get worse, the pain is getting sharper and more frequent. I'm 6 weeks and 5 days.
1308443 tn?1302693321 I was just trying to figure out what to do about my pinky before hand because the pain and swelling are getting worse now that I wear the splint full time.
Avatar f tn I already posted this in another forum but i wanted as much feed back as i can get lol....So I have had pain in the back of my heels since I found out I was pregnant but recently it's getting worse. It doesn't matte if I'm standing or sitting the pain is horrible. If I sit for more than two minutes and try to get up and walk the pain is almost unbearable! Does anyone know what this is? Any advice? Should I talk to my dr when I see her next?
Avatar f tn So I have an appointment tomorrow at 2:30 because I'm getting pain down there when I walk. But now it even kinda hurts laying in my bed. I'm not moving around just laying still. The nusre told me earlier that if the pain gets worse to go to ob triage but I'm not dying in pain. Its just there when I move my legs for the most part. I don't want to seem like a baby by going in tonight but I also don't know what the morning will bring either. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn 5 four times a day but my pain is getting worse and now im getting burning sensations along with the regular pain i usually get (which the burning seems to increase my pain from a 6 to about a 8 1/2) and thats with taking my pain meds. In the contract i had to sign it said that i cant call his office about prescriptions. Im wanting him to up my pain meds tho for the fact of the dose im on isnt really doing crap. The dentist has given me stronger meds then my pain med doc does.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry to hear about your worsening symptoms ... if you can hold out, for the sake of school, you MIGHT find that the severity of your symptoms cycles. I know mine did for years (before I was diagnosed) .... definitely get in to see your doctor and discuss it with him. Was this the only doctor you've seen? a second opinion might also be in order. I hope you get some relief.
1091845 tn?1263162000 My Doctor said it may improve now that I am on insulin, but if anything. it seems to be getting worse. What sort of pain relief should I be using. I have tried many OTC pain killers, but they really don't seem to help that much.
Avatar n tn you are likely feeling Withdrawl pain along with your normal back pain. The extra pain from the WD should last about 3-5 days along with other symptoms and then ease up. (diarrhea, stomach pains, body aches, restless legs, insomnia, mood swings etc) Whether youre addicted or not, the body becomes dependant on opiates and causes WD when suddenly stopped. Hang in there and i hope your situation improves!
Avatar n tn ve visited a doc, and if so, you must go back and explain how the feet are getting worse and yellow fluid is coming out. You asked what's going to happen if this continues, and, depending on what originally brought all this about, you can actually lose function in the feet or face amputation.
Avatar n tn I am so sorry to hear that your mum is getting worse. Other than the pain killers I am not sure what else can be done. This beast has a mind of its own. Mine is also starting to spread after almost 4 years and I am not sure what we can do. We are still trying chemo and are looking into clinical trials. Know that your mum is in my prayers.
Avatar n tn The pain in my right foot makes me limp for a few steps after getting up. The pain is mostly in the sole of my foot and it is the the worst for the first ten steps or so then disappears. It comes and goes as I'm walking so I don't think I hurt it at the gym the other day. Anyone get foot pain...it hurts!
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced top of foot pain or achilles pain associated with MS? And has anyone had the shocks in your tongue?
237053 tn?1258828426 Most of my foot pain is on the top of the foot. I do feel it on the bottom as well but if feels as if the pain radiates sometimes from my ankle to the top of my foot. Also sometimes feels like my foot is cramping if that is even possible. Very annoying and painful! Do you get all the other pains too?
Avatar n tn Hi, and welcome. Foot pain is NO fun. I have ms and other diseases and one of my newer problems is foot drop. It's been coming and getting worse over time, but is now so bad it has to be braced. My Achilles tendon is shortened due to a weak muscle in my leg preventing me from being able to lift my foot. Anyway, being in the "terminator boot" would cause severe stiffness and immobility for long enough that you may suffer from Achilles tendon shortening too.
4422728 tn?1355841429 She diagnosed me with meniscus tears in both my knees ( i am going to get an x ray and mri to get an official diagnoses). I have noticed the pain is getting worse every day. I am not athletic but i have been walking around every day,and i have stairs in my house. I am worried that walking and stairs is going to make my knees worse and tear my menisus even more (i really dont want to have surgery). Does this seem like a reasonable worry ?
