Avatar m tn I have a pain between my lower leg and foot. Difficult in walking because pain when twisted the foot inwards to the legs. The pain comes from the back side of my foot. What do you think is my problem? The pain is almost 2 months already. Thanks for the help.
Avatar f tn Finally, if it is a gait unsteadiness, and there is not spasticity, but rather specific neurologic physical examination findings, the problem walking could be coming from a part of the brain called the cerebellum or basal ganglia; there are several potential causes for this, for example termed cerebellar ataxia, or even parkinson's disease (pleas understand I am not trying to imply I think you have parkinson's, only that these are some potential causes for walking troubles).
Avatar n tn s symptoms. Is she having back pain, hip pain, foot or what type of pain? If we had more information we may have better suggestions. I too agree that a physician evaluation is in order. Avatar f tn It only hurts when I press on that part of my foot or when I am walking. The walking pain happens when I lift up my heel taking a step. The pain radiates from the top of the arch of my foot to the heel. The pain was minimal at the beginning of the day, then got worse as the day went on. I taped my foot after a few days of this and am using a walker and crutches I already had to keep weight off of it as much as possible.
1278070 tn?1276224405 Hello, my problems started last summer my left foot and shin fell asleep while walking it was a bit painful around my ankle but not unbearable. When I got home from my walk, I sat down and the pain went away. Over the next few months this happened again several times. Avatar m tn Did it get better? I jumped off a swing and landed on a stone. 3 months now and awful pain walking, standing. Done all the stretching, etc. they say to do. Don't see a podiatrist until February (!!) and he will probably advise more of the same. Any advice out there? What about the shockwave therapy?? I've run into people who say they have had this pain for YEARS and it cripples once active people. Jump off a stupid swing and - there goes your life? I am so depressed. I'm age 50.
Avatar f tn Pronation is the normal movement that allows the foot to adapt to uneven walking surfaces and to absorb shock. Excessive pronation occurs when the foot has a tendency to turn inward and stretch and pull the fascia along with it. This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, and lower back. This can explain the pain you feel on and off and also why you fall. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn severe pain on bottoms of feet its like everything from my big toe over feel like being pulled apart and numb
Avatar f tn I have the same thing for ten years- pain and foot stiffnes in the morning for ten years- better after walking for ten minutes till 2 weeks ago- all of a sudden the pain was severe and constant with a throbbing- no over the counter meds worked so I made an appointment for a podiatrist- he gave me a prescription for naproxen (whitch didn't work and made my stomache on fire for hours) he diagnosed me with mortons toe- if your big toe is shorter than your second toe you have mortons toe- it can
1831849 tn?1383228392 Not exactly sure its foot drop, thats commonly described as literally the foot dropping so they are kicking the ground and need to lift their foot higher. With my puppet walking style that I strut (lol) my left side sort of plods like its getting heavier and heavier every step I take. The right leg though, just seems to automatically lift higher than normal because i'm tripping. I bounce though so i doubt either fit 'foot drop' but the right is the closer fit.
Avatar f tn Now, it could just be bruised badly, and ice may help with any swelling and ibuprofen for pain and swelling. But if the pain does not get better within a couple of days, I would get to your doctor and especially if you have any swelling around your ankles or on the foot. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I get alot of pain from this condition but the worst pain I have at the moment is in my right midfoot. When I was younger, about about 20 onwards, my foot used to crack at every step and it did this for years. It didn't hurt, it was just a noisy joint and I just got used to it. In 2006 I had ligament reconsruction on my left ankle and could not weight bear on it for 6 weeks and I was only walking on my right foot with crutches which made my right foot become very painful.
Avatar n tn I have a large herniated disc in the L5 that was causing severe pain in my lower back and down my right leg. Over a month ago the pain all of a sudden was gone and I noticed my foot and the front side of my leg was numb. So I know this is Drop foot. I went to see a neoursurgeon and he said that removing the disc would not correct the drop foot, it will just have to get better on it's own. The question I have, is this correct?
Avatar n tn the needle bit was finally removed from my foot through local anaesthesia in the foot ( very painful) and by cutting it out.I received 2 stitches ,which I had for two weeks. They were removed 2 days ago. I thought I might be able to walk a little but this still proofs to be painful, So I still have to go with a walking stick. I also have a heamatoma /crust like apparence which is quite hard, the nurse said it would disappear after a while.

Diabetic foot is an umbrella term for foot problems in patients with diabetes mellitus. To prevent diabetic foot ulcers,he should have good foot hygiene, wear diabetic socks and shoes, and avoid injury.A consultation of a podiatrist will be the best. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your husband is doing or if you have any additional doubts.
470872 tn?1207414069 I read recently in the newspaper (one of those medical columns) that some people have gotten relief from foot pain by drinking a bit of cherry juice each day. Seems odd to me but guess it can't hurt if you don't mind the zing.
Avatar f tn I had a bunionectomy and osteotomy 9/06 on left foot. Continued to have pain until 12/07 and had surgery to remove the hardware from bunion surgery and had a morton's neuroma removed between 3rd and 4th toes. Still have constant pain along the outside and on top of that foot about 1 inch from base of little toe. I am getting so discouraged so please help if you can. Thanks alot in advance.
Avatar n tn Hi all. Quick question... Why in the world does my left foot/ankle area hurt EVERY morning when I get out of bed. I had a simliar post about a "weird foot problem" a month or two ago, and it's still bothering me--only worse now. It's like my ankle on that side is so weak. I fell in the flower bed a couple of days ago, and running around the yard with my niece is a scary ordeal because my ankles feel so weak.
Avatar f tn t been able to help me organize a successful walking routine. Anyone out there who knows about foot drop, knows about the pain and fatigue associated with it. Especially in my back and ankles the pain is horrible. The more I push myself the worse the pain and fatigue get. Does anyone have any input?
Avatar n tn the heel never gets sore. It takes up to 2 hours of walking about before the pain subsides, but it returns as soon as I sit again. The pain almist feels as if someone has taken a knife and shredded the bottom of my feet. It is the same in both feet.
1749417 tn?1331996992 If you think of runners or the like, calf muscle get tight from use, when running or walking etc and its why stretching is so important before and after they train. A few things to concider, what were you doing prior to sitting down for awhile, is it possibly the prior activity and not the sitting thats causing it? Are you totally unable to walk heel down or are you not able to because your avoiding the pain and discomfort of heel down? Do you stretch at all?
459853 tn?1283140514 When I flex my food you can see the ligament protruding from my foot. It runs from the ball of the foot all the way to my heel. I have found several exercises that seem to be helping but they are really painful! Just walking is painful.....
Avatar m tn t suffer the week or so of pain from having the knee surgery I had. No pain pills no nothing just the patches. Hope something here helps.
Avatar m tn Well, on a general note, formal shoes are not meant for long distance walk since most of these are not designed to support the foot arch like sport shoes, however padded they might be. You may try resting the foot and keeping it elevated for some time. Foot massage may also be beneficial.
