Avatar f tn After 20 minutes on the elliptical machine, the ball of my foot and my toes begin to go numb. Am I wearing the wrong shoes? It has happened for years on several different style machines and settings. Any advice or feedback that this happens to others would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn When I started excersing they told me this might happen on the elliptical. Are you on your toes while doing the elliptical. You probably are and don't know it. Try to do straighen out your foot when the toes start to tingle. I do and it stops for me.
Avatar f tn Last year I had referred pain in my left quad for which I had physio. I have pain and tingling in my foot and calf periodically. I joined a running group a week ago. The runs I found quite fast and challenging. I went for a long run on Sunday. I have had left quad pain again followed by pain on my right hand side underneath my ribs. I'm unsure whether to see a doctor or not. My doctor is currently away but will be back next week. Not sure whether I actually need to see someone.

Avatar f tn Hurt my hamstring 5 months ago ( had excruciating pain and severe bruising). have gone to physical therapy and have regained all my flexibility and have no acute pain anymore. My frustration is still not being able to run. I get almost immediate hamstring area tightness and have burning sensation and discomfort in my ankle/foot area also. the physical therapist thinks it is a compensatory reaction because I am flexing my foot too much to try and bring that weaker leg thru when running.

Avatar m tn It is on my left foot on the left side towards the base of the heal, the feeling is right next to the achilles heel but doesn't feel like it is on it. I try to spend a little extra time to stretch it before I run on the treadmill, work out on the elliptical or do squats. I live with hypertension so it's important that I keep exercising but I don't know if I'm causing more harm to my foot or helping it heal.
Avatar n tn It also felt like there was something bumpy under the foot. Pain continued to worsen until I could only walk a short distance. MRI showed nothing and the pod put me in a non-weightbearing splint for 4 weeks. The pain was gone and I slowly progressed to walking 1200 steps, riding the bike, and short periods on the eliptical. Then the pain came back and got progressively worse over a 30 day period.
Avatar f tn I told my dr and he told me to stop bc of the constant up down motion but ive read and researched so much on eliptical use during pregnancy and thats why i got one. He told me to walk.. its 0 degrees out and a foot of snow on the ground. Anyone use an eliptical right now? Thoughts and ideas? I always take my doctors advice but i dont agree with him on this one...

428506 tn?1296557399 Lately when I go to the gym I often stop exercising because of this foot pain. (Either foot pain or fatigue typically limit my efforts at the gym.) Whether I do stationary bike, elliptical, or whatever, the pressure on the bottom of my inflamed feet becomes too much of a distraction. This problem seems about as bad (or possibly worse?) than earlier in my treatment, making me wonder if I should pass it off as Bart/Lyme.
Avatar f tn It seems the more Garapentin I take the more pain I have in my lower back and more numbness in my right foot. Is there anything that can be done to lessen the pain? By the end of my workday I am in such pain it is hard to sit in the car for a 13 mile ride home. Is more drugs the only answer. I have heard about electical implants to ease the pain. Would I still have to take all these drugs also? I am only 58 and since the fall, I cannot even lift my 2 year old granson.
761943 tn?1234316178 I’ve been experiencing some pain on the outside of my right foot while walking for extended periods (ex. at the mall) Finally went to a podiatrist and he talked to me for over an hour about wearing better shoes, working out (definitely could loose a few, but not morbidly obese or anything), etc. He didn't think it would be anything severe but he would do x-rays anyway.

I have had hip x-ray and hip ultrasound that confirm the arthritis, bursitis and tendonitis. I have anxiety and abdomen pain as well intermittent left testicle pain that I can not explain.
Avatar f tn I am a 2o yr old female, who acquired a vertical hairline fracture on my right tibia (pilon fracture) by falling off a bouldering wall at my university onto a torn crash pad. My foot went through the torn seam. This happened on the night of April 8th. I was in a splint for a few days before going in to see an ortho and get my hard cast. I was in the hard cast for about 3.5 weeks, until my second visit, where I got it removed and more x-rays done.

Avatar m tn I play soccer and was invited for several tryouts semi pro leagues, and then a guy broke my foot. After 6 months out with the broke foot, I came back and started training again. During a normal training routine I felt a POP in my thigh (right quad). I was able to walk off the field, and had no swelling or bruising. However it hurt to bend or raise my leg. After two months I was able to run normally and even sprint and kick the ball.
Avatar f tn I bought an elliptical strider, and am doing the 8 week loose weight program. I am so so tired after using it for 20 minutes that I have to lay down all day. IM 5 foot 8 inches and have put on 10 kilos in 8 weeks. I was 63 kilos now I'm 73 kilos. IM still by no means overweight and carry my weight nicely, so why am I so exhausted mentally, physically, and emotionally afterwards all day.

While I am on the machine, there is no problem, but when I get to pilates, my scar feels as though it's on fire. It is intermittent and will go away after about 20 minutes, but is very uncomfortable. So I am wondering, is this something that I should worry about? Should I stop using the elliptical?

Avatar f tn a few weeks ago I woke up when I rolled over onto my hip because the pain was so severe. I spent the next few days limping and barely able to walk, although sometimes my hip just hurt/pulled but I could stand and walk upright. After four days, I went to the doctor. She said it was probably a pull in my IT band...rest and ice and ibuprofen every 4 hours is what she recommended...
973741 tn?1342342773 So, work out friends, I have a problem. One heel has a lot of pain. It's been ongoing since early July. I had gone to my son's boy scout camp and wore tennis shoes. I think I walked about 10 miles through gravel, wood trails, up and down hills and steps. My little piggies were swollen and tired after that! But worse, my left heel hurt like crazy. And . . .it still hurts. I've had plantar faciaitis before.
Avatar n tn m 30 weeks n I exercise 4 to 5 days a week. I ran 3 miles til I was around 25 weeks now bike ride n elliptical machine. For 15 min, followed by fast walking on 4.0 on the tree min for 15 min n bike on hills for 15 min. Then I start my weight training program. From squats free weight smith machine n other leg machines. Military presses, barbell well I do full body work outs. I did drop 10 lbs on my weight when I turned 27 weeks but just incase. But I feel great afterwards.

You must make lifestyle changes to your nutrition/diet, if overweight lose the fat, and perform 30 minutes of physical daily exercise. Read other threads on this forum for additional advice. You are a few steps away from having one or more of your limbs [hands, foot, leg] amputated.

I have hip problems (birth defect). Today is the first day of my 11 that I've truly had hip pain. Ready to feel better! Going to the beach Thursday... I HAVE to feel better!!
