15695260 tn?1549593113 ) Trial and error often leads to knowing what works best for your foot and replacing running shoes in a timely manner. Many leg issues develop from shoes that are worn out as all of them have a certain mileage that once surpassed renders the support the shoe gives dead. I'd recommend anyone interested in running whether competitively or for your leisure and daily exercise to visit a shop with people trained to fit you and try the shoes out in the store or parking lot.
155639 tn?1251738603 I was skeptical, I tried it, and in two weeks the pain was gone, and I continue to be pain free for this particular running related condition. I was so convinced I went out a purchased my own oxygen machine. In your case it may or may not help your particular problem, but it would be worth a try.
Avatar n tn Then it dissipates. There is no trauma-related or exercise-related component -- I have no known athletic injuries inducing pain of this kind. No past foot-related issues of any kind. No pains of this sort anywhere else in my body. Ideas?

Avatar m tn Running forward aggravates it, but running side-step does not (except when I plant hard on my right foot to begin side-stepping left). Squatting/standing from seated position can cause pain. Pain flairs sometimes just when I get out of bed. 43 yr - Male - played competitive level soccer for over 30 years. Recently tennis. No previous - serious knee injuries. Hoping to get insights from this community before paying to see an Ortho. Any sugestions?
2108469 tn?1334054530 ¿ Can running , or gym whatever , help to relief the symptoms of hypothyroidism ?
Avatar m tn I have pain in my left foot that starts off sore then gets worse as the days go by. It gets to where i can't stand to walk because of the pain and has a throbbing aching pain to it. This is the second time I have had this "flare up" I am a diabetic type 2 not sure if that has anything to do with it. Motrin does seem tto Help the pain a little.
3851566 tn?1348338001 After I stubbed it I got really hot for a few minutes and light headed. That made me think I probably broke something in my foot. It is very painful to try to walk on it, but other than that it doesn't bother me that much its not in constant pain. I don't know if I should have it looked at by a doctor or do you think it should be fine after it has time to heal?
Avatar f tn Approximately two weeks ago I fell down some concrete steps face first. Almost immediately afterwards, the middle of my lower leg started bruising and became extremely swollen. The swelling was larger than my knee and stuck out more towards my outer leg. I followed RICE over the next day and a half, but it kept swelling and the bruise going darker, which I expected. Now, the swelling has gone down a lot along with the bruising. The area is red now and hard as a rock but is still very tender.
Avatar m tn I am 34 year old female with chronic bilateral ankle pain. The pain in my right foot is terrible..my ankle aches all the time, my left foot is bearable. I can't wear shoes other than sneakers, and even wearing sneakers my foot aches. I was diagnosed with sinus tarsi syndrome. Originally in May 2015, I had grade 2 ankle sprain of ATFL ligament and bone edema in calcaneus...this was after completing exercise program T25 and running.
Avatar f tn At 29, these pelvic fractures may be stress-related. Are you active with sports, running? Overuse injuries can lead to stress fractures in the pelvis, which doesn't necessarily indicate osteoporosis. I would recommend a thorough screening for osteoporosis (which includes a medical history, labs for secondary causes, and a DXA bone density scan). Discuss this with your medical provider.
338416 tn?1420045702 s quite foot drop yet, but I certainly have to *think* about lifting my foot up. They make a foot brace that would hold my foot up, but it's plastic and clunky. I don't think I would have started running again if it wasn't for the weight. I get so frustrated, because I'm really trying to restrict my calories, and it doesn't do a bit of good. Working out on the trainer was exercise, but it just wasn't enough. I'm starting to wonder if I have a thyroid problem.
10520198 tn?1410756360 Due to running excessively in the military, I believe my leg and feet injuries are related to Posterior Shin Splints and Posterior Tibial Tendonitis. I am a female, 5'7, 1601bs, and in the military. I run approximately 15 to 20 miles a week. I have high arches, and run flat footed. I have hereditary varicose veins that have gradually become worse over time. **5½ YEARS AGO** I dropped a three year weight class due to constant painful sores in both inner calves.
Avatar f tn You need an x-ray. I fractured a metatarsal bone (upper top of foot) while in the military and it took a year to heal, and I still have pain decades later. Generally there is a "window of opportunity" to immobilize such a fracture, and if missed the bone won't heal without surgery.
Avatar m tn You might want to look at your shoes and make sure they are not getting to worn out to support what your doing or not to tight in that area, check with a running store they can fit your foot to shoe pefectly, Also it could be a shin splint i use to get those on the treadmill if i did not put it at an incline and that can pull on the muscle that goes along the top of the foot its painful, I worked with trainers who told me to use the incline not to get chine splints, good luck these things hav
Avatar m tn And I have to say that even after this long I can still feel it, especially while I am running. During sport I have to wear a brace constantly and it is still not 100%. Have you been to doctor? They will tell you if you have torn ligaments.
Avatar n tn He said that was probably something I was born with. He said he did not know what was wrong with my foot and sent me to see a foot and ankle specialist. They ordered an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and there were not any. Now the foot and ankle specialist does not know what is wrong with my foot. I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad.
Avatar n tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks so much for your question. The doctor you've seen is affiliated with the Army? How is this impacting your ability to serve? It does sound uncomfortable. I think a second opinion would be important to continue exploring what is happening. Your feet are newly flat? Different things can cause feet to go flat. Have you seen a podiatrist specifically? That's probably the best thing to do. There are different TYPES of flat feet as well.
Avatar m tn t know how much activity he has been doing since then. Injuries can take a long time to heal and they really do need to rest the affected limb with limited exercise, like short walks, etc. At this point, I would take him back to the Vet (or another Vet) and possibly get an x-ray done to try to determine what damage has been done. There might even be a hairline fracture or something. This doesn't really sound like an ACL but it could even be hip related.
645800 tn?1466860955 I do fall to the right at times, but mostly to the left. The falls to the right seem to be related to my drop foot on the right. When I catch the right foot on something I fall to the right. This hasn't been happening as much lately. I think this is because I use my cane on the right side which lifts that side slightly so I don't catch that foot as often on something. Thanks again for the info. It was a real help and your are a dear for it.
Avatar m tn t really have any other neurological symptoms except possibly pain in my left foot and left hand. my left foot feels to me as if it does not move normally. i have had a couple of head injuries in my life but i don't know if they are connected. i do not have macular degeneration. thanks for reading this!
Avatar f tn It is required by law to be drug tested for a work related injury. Sorry you were hurt.
