Common Questions and Answers about Foot injuries recovery

foot

Avatar n tn Other conditions that can cause foot pain include ligament injuries and joint irritation. These problems can also be relieved with more accommodating footwear. Treatment of foot pain often consists of anti-inflammatory medications, footwear modifications, and inserts for your shoes. Metatarsal pads help to take pressure off the ball of the foot. If some simple steps do not alleviate your symptoms, you should see your doctor to ensure you are receiving adequate treatment.
Avatar f tn s foot is 1 size larger than his other foot and he still has complete bruising of the foot and where the incision was. You will probably never regain 100% movement. However, if you are concerned you should talk to your doctor or phyiscal therapist. The pain and numbness is normal because they had to cut through nerves. The numbness/burning is the nerves more than likely trying to repair themself. The pain is just because you had a major surgery. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I got a tetanus shot and the doctor looked over my leg and foot and no suspected serious injury. However, my inner ankle ( where that bone sticks out and the large vein run down to the foot) started to hurt and it bruised and seems like it is not really getting better as I'd like. Is that normal being that I am very active and walking around - has anyone experience very slow recovery?

Avatar m tn In addition to my questions above, will the application of an ice pack speed my recovery or hinder it in any way? The application of ice packs to soft tissue sports injuries is recommended to help recovery, but do the same principles apply to the eye? Obviously I do not want to do any further damage.
Avatar n tn He said that was probably something I was born with. He said he did not know what was wrong with my foot and sent me to see a foot and ankle specialist. They ordered an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and there were not any. Now the foot and ankle specialist does not know what is wrong with my foot. I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?

Avatar n tn My friend's patio door came off its runner and landed on her foot. She had a huge bump; on her foot, just above her toes and a deep, though small looking cut at the point of impact. The rest of the top front part of her foot was swollen. She was told in Casualty that there was tissue damage and damage to the tendons but no apparent broken bones. A few days later when some of the swelling subsided she began to walk on it.
Avatar n tn Whenever I lift my feet, including when I am walking, they hang down heavily and it feels like the Tibia? (I looked at a picture of ankle/foot anatomy and based on the diagram I assume it is the Tibia) and my feet are disconnected. It sort of feels like a bruising pain. I even have trouble rotating both of my feet. Not because of the pain (even though it does hurt) but it is hard to rotate to the front.

Avatar m tn I have had serious crush injuries to both feet about 8 weeks ago. Last night the pain was severe in both feet. I am taking lortab 10's. Its not even touching it. Any suggestions.
Avatar n tn The important thing is when you start walking all of your leg and foot muscles are coming into action. You body weight is being supported by your feet so with ankle injuries if there is inflammation and irritation of any tendons there is a chance for this pain. Another reason is recovery and healing and age/body weight are other factors.
Avatar n tn The whole problem here is that the medical world does not have any clue as how to approach getting stroke survivors back to full recovery. They are hoping that your spontaneous recovery in 6-12 months is enough to satisfy you. What needs to be done is idenfify the penumbra and those functions, these are helped by standard therapy protocols because you still have a limited ability to do those functions and repetition will help recover them.

Avatar n tn Though it is possible to get mortons neuroma twice in the same foot; other possibilities such as fractures, ligament/ tendon injuries, infections, inflammations like fasciitis etc, spur formation, heel fat pad syndrome, arch issues etc may also need to be considered as possible diagnoses to the symptoms. I would suggest consulting an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I agree with Remar, I would see a doctor, you may have had some minor internal injuries to the foot and that needs to be taken care of.
