Avatar f tn Hi, This could be a fungal infection. Athlete's foot, also called tinea pedis, is a fungal infection of the feet. Most people want to avoid athlete's foot because it is uncomfortable and unsightly. Left untreated, the Trichophyton and Epidermophyton organisms which cause it can spread to other parts of the body. By keeping the feet clean and dry, you can avoid athlete's foot infection rather effectively.

Avatar m tn I used to have what I considered fungus on my toes. I guess it's still there, but Im treating it pretty well so no discoloring at the moment. My problem is that my nail isnt straight. the fungus made it strangely shaped so that the line where the nail is attached to the skin underneath is very curvy, not straight, and not nice to look at.
Avatar m tn I have toe nail fungus on several toes on one foot. Is there a home cure? This discussion is related to TOENAIL FUNGUS.
565779 tn?1216513164 I was diagnosed with Hep. C approx. five years ago, now I have a foot fungus and toe/fingernail fungus. I have also been finding these tiny black things, the size of a pinhead all over my skin, some are even going into my fingernails, as well as my skin. Is this another type of fungus, or do I have some strange bug inside of me? Also does anyone notice a gross odor from the nail fungus? Are people with Hep. C prone to fungi infections?

Avatar n tn i have a foot fungus under my toes and on the side of the baby toe. After applying the cream, should I wear a sock?
Avatar m tn that the skin was cracking (as if the bare foot had been dragged across a rough surface...which was not the case). I bought moisturizer so as to soften the skin, yet the rough skin exterior persisted. Then came the itching & burning sensation (feet). I checked online & found out I had Athlete's Foot (something I nerver had before & I am baffled as to how I got it in the first place...I read a list as to how it can be gotten, yet none of the scenarios applied to me).
Avatar m tn It could be a yeast or other fungal infection. Get a tube of Lotrimin (not the Ultra formula, just the regular one because Ultra caused little tiny cysts for me in that area). All the Lotrimin creams are the same, whether they say they are for athlete's foot or jock itch or whatever, because it's all the same fungus. After showering and thoroughly drying the area, rub the cream in. Follow the directions exactly as far as how often and how many weeks.
Avatar m tn When my son was 2 years old he was diagnosed with a mild form of hand foot mouth disease. It went away on its own, but shortly after (1-2 months) he developed what we thought was fungus of some sort on the big right toenail. The nail has essentially split in half and has raised ridges and dead skin type of feel look to it. We thought this was the result of the hand food mouth disease.
Avatar n tn I have experienced itching, peeling, dryness, small blisters, callouses, and redness on my left foot but never on my right foot. I have tried all sorts of creams including ones for athletes foot but I have no idea why it doesn't go away.

Avatar m tn no no ,, my nails kinda look normal but thier is about 15 or so ridges they are like groves and its not a fungus , acctually I got a fungus several years ago and this thing killed it , it took a year to do it and the nail had a horizontal line as the fungus grew off,, and i've seen the pitcher in a magizine of what I have ,, and the drops were just 19.
Avatar n tn Is it normal for skin fungus on bottom of foot to take over a year to get better? What if you've been on medication for that particular condition for a year now? [NB.] Medications were changed from time to time.
Avatar f tn My husband has horrendous foot odor. Room clearing, rotten cheese smelling odor. It has gotten worse over the years. He uses a foot cream half the time and it works but then he has to take a couple weeks off because his feet get dry and cracked. He uses clean cotton socks, washes and dries his feet daily, wears well ventilated shoes when he can, etc. Should he see a doctor? Is there a possible underlying and treatable condition?
