338416 tn?1420045702 s quite foot drop yet, but I certainly have to *think* about lifting my foot up. They make a foot brace that would hold my foot up, but it's plastic and clunky. I don't think I would have started running again if it wasn't for the weight. I get so frustrated, because I'm really trying to restrict my calories, and it doesn't do a bit of good. Working out on the trainer was exercise, but it just wasn't enough. I'm starting to wonder if I have a thyroid problem.
Avatar n tn My 13 yr. old daughter has started experiencing lower stomach pains while running during PE and basketball practice. She has been unable to complete the required mile and says the pain is quite intense. She ran track last spring and was able to run more than that without any problems. She also played competive summer basketball without any problems with the running. She is 5' 7'' and weighs about 125 lbs.
Avatar f tn Rest cramps often occur during the night. While not life-threatening, night cramps (commonly known as nocturnal cramps) can be painful, disruptive of sleep, and they can recur frequently (that is, many times a night, and/or many nights each week). The actual cause of night cramps is unknown. Sometimes, such cramps are initiated by making a movement that shortens the muscle. An example is pointing the toe down while lying in bed, which shortens the calf muscle, a common site of cramps.
Avatar f tn I have leg cramps, and foot cramps, and when I tried stirring up amish friendship bread I got cramps in my hands. I don't run, and I'm not on treatments, but I take to diuretics one pottassium sparing and one not. Magnesium helps a little.
335728 tn?1331414412 ve only had toe cramps while driving a few times, and tried stuff like taking my foot off the gas and stomping my foot on the floor (after checking to see if anyone was at all close behind me). It seemed to help somewhat. I hope you find something that works for you!
Avatar m tn I have been getting bad cramps that really feel like shooting pain down one vein in my arm, leg, and foot. Is this normal? Does anyone get something like that or just cramps in the arches of your feet? I also get cramps in my knee.
Avatar n tn Since this tingling sensation is in the foot this compression could be at the level of foot, leg or hip. This could quite possibly be sciatica. I would advise you to consult a doctor as soon as possible as you need to undergo a complete physical and neurological examination. Also please take rest and do some simple back exercises.
Avatar m tn Another symptom which is less commonly talked about is rt side abdominal cramps while running. I am an experienced and competitive runner and have never had this problem prior to thyroiditis. Blood work and sonography negative for liver pancreas appendix gall bladder. Noticed co2 higher than normal plus elevated ESR C Reactive protein typical of disease. Symptom mgmt was 500 mg motrin and 50 mg atenolol weeks 2 to 3 after onset. Now week 4 no aches and pulse drop to 80.
Avatar f tn Is anyone experiencing foot cramps? My left foot keeps cramping and it hurts for days at a time. Anything to releive the pain?? Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn my husbands foot always cramps up after we have sex....is there a way to stop this....send me a private messege......
Avatar m tn I've been having constant foot cramps. Podiatrist recommended some stretches and stuff, but also suggested a thyroid test. FT3 is 3.22 (2.57-4.43) FT4 is 1.17 (0.64-1.77) TSH is 4.24 (0.27-4.2) Anti-Tg is 41.14 (1000 (<5.61) So the TSH is just a hair too high, but the anti-TPO is off the chart. Is there a thyroid problem or not? What does this mean? I've got an appointment with an endocrinologist, but I just want to get ahead of the game.
Avatar f tn Pull your knee up to your chest and grab your foot by the toes and ball of the foot. Pull your toes slowly toward your body while pushing the heel away from your body. Hold it for a few seconds until the cramp is over. That technique also works great for an inner-arch foot cramp. You can achieve the same calf stretch when standing. Place the balls of your feet on a board or even a door threshhold.
Avatar n tn I rolled my left foot in a hole while running in July '09. I have had pain in the left side of my foot in the heel area. I can apply pressure massaging the heel area and feel a sharp pain. I had mornings where my first step out of bed was agonizing pain. The more I walked the more it hurt. I have used ice/heat/ibuprofen and nothing has helped. I started wearing my running shoe to bed on my left foot. I believe it has kept my foot straight at night and allows for healing.
Avatar n tn I am not a doctor, but am a well-read type 1 diabetic, so please check out any information I give you with your own physician. I did some research on foot cramps and can tell you what I have found out. I do not know your age, but cramps in the feet while sleeping at night is apparently fairly common as people grow older. It is believed that this is sometimes caused by poor circulation in the feet, and is more common in diabetics than in other people.
Avatar n tn I like to stay active so I try to go walking and running in town. Halfway back from my walk it hurt unbelievably bad. My hips would not stop popping. I noticed that if I even push down on my hips it feels extremely painful. This only happens when I walk, run, or even ride horse. I don't have any clue of whats causing it and can't decide if I need to go to the doctor for it. Please help!
8727253 tn?1400194561 It happens to me while Im trying to sleep.. I ususlly move my foot with my hands bc you cant move it yourself ..slowly so its not so painful and then when I regain my foot control I massage the back calf musscle. Seems to work for me..5mins and Im back to sleep.
Avatar f tn I honestly have not heard that you can't run. If its mild cramps, that's normal.
Avatar f tn I gave up all training because the first few weeks I had major fatigue and cramps. Now I am feeling better and the race is Saturday. I was debating on jog/walking it. I've been reading mixed opinions on running that distance during the first trimester. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn They help prevent cramps, pregnant or not. Also, when you do get them, flex your foot. DO NOT point your toes out. Grab your foot and pull it towards you so it's like your making an L with your leg and foot. That should relieve it almost instantly.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I get a lot of feet cramps and the past couple of nights I will wake up to a cramp in the top of my left foot closer to the ankle. Hurts like hell. It wont go away for several minutesI try walking it out or rubbing it and it seems to make it worse. This has happened to me 3x already in one night. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with my heart.
Avatar f tn Hello, There are some measure you can take to prevent cramps while running like Hydrate well before a run, check out your breathing patterns, short, choppy breaths aren't able to get as much oxygen to the lungs as long, controlled breaths. Try to regularize your breathing patterns so that they bring in as much oxygen as possible. Make sure that you run within your ability.
