Avatar f tn Rest cramps: Cramps at rest are very common, especially in older adults, but may be experienced at any age, including childhood. Rest cramps often occur during the night. While not life-threatening, night cramps (commonly known as nocturnal cramps) can be painful, disruptive of sleep, and they can recur frequently (that is, many times a night, and/or many nights each week). The actual cause of night cramps is unknown.

Avatar f tn I woke up last night having the worst leg cramps. It did get better to the point where I could go back to sleep. My leg has hurt all day today still feeling like it's cramping a little bit. I've heard leg cramps could be more painful during pregnancy. Is it normal for your leg to still be this sore so long after it first started to cramp? Is is anything to worry about?
Avatar n tn I'm 32 weeks with my 2nd and the scariest thing happened. I was sleeping and woke up to my leg being locked. My foot was turned in and I couldn't move it without standing and that killed. I massaged the muscle on the front of my calf and it finally went away only to happen again. This was a reapeated process for about 10 minutes. It was like someone was holding my foot over. I couldn't control it and it hurt so bad! Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Avatar f tn The water alone isn't enough. Electrolytes and salt. Get some gatorade and chips.

Avatar n tn I am a Type 1 diabetic who has recently been suffering from leg, foot, toe, ankle, thigh, and even hand cramps so bad that I can hardly stand it. I get the foot and leg and ankle cramps usually in the middle of the night, and then can't sleep. It is almost a nightly occurance. My ankle sort of keeps cramping up, and then it spreads to my toes and calf. It is absolutely unbearable. I am wondering if ANYONE can tell me where to start to find out what is causing this.

Avatar n tn Bananas seem perfect, but every time I eat one mid-day, I have finger and foot cramps at my afternoon job; Everything I have read has said potassium/bananas are good for cramps. This is not true for me. Am I low on sodium, or is something else going on? I probably eat less sodium because of not eating processed foods, but I salt everything I cook.

Avatar m tn I've been having constant foot cramps. Podiatrist recommended some stretches and stuff, but also suggested a thyroid test. FT3 is 3.22 (2.57-4.43) FT4 is 1.17 (0.64-1.77) TSH is 4.24 (0.27-4.2) Anti-Tg is 41.14 (1000 (<5.61) So the TSH is just a hair too high, but the anti-TPO is off the chart. Is there a thyroid problem or not? What does this mean? I've got an appointment with an endocrinologist, but I just want to get ahead of the game.

I am now having quite a few headaches and some weight gain and forgetfulness and fatigue..I do exercise and am a healthy body weight so why the higher CO2 level?

737386 tn?1254350426 I love a Epsom Salt soak in a tub. I have been told that it raises levels of magnesium, that your body absorbs it while you soak. Among other benefits, magnesium aids with the muscle function. Whatever the case, soaks definitely relieve the discomfort of arthritis and associated problems.
Avatar f tn I got leg cramps and foot cramps and disturbed sleep when my meds were too low. It was amazing how fast the cramps came back when the last stoopid endo lowered my meds because my TSH was too low to suit him ( he thought I shouldn't be on meds at all) ! Seems like both your FREE's are too low, doesn't it ? Now that I've increased my thyroid meds again, the leg cramps are gone and the foot cramps are almost gone.
