108334 tn?1253644395 There are a lot of little bones in the foot. I had a hair line fracture of the foot that healed on its own. Some are more serious. But they'd have been looking for that. Is he swollen? You'd think sprain too but you'd notice swelling. I'd say he just hurt it and it isn't back to normal yet. Give it another day and if you are seeing no improvement, then call the doc. Also, side note. These are those teachable moments.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with severe crush injury with multiple fractures to my left foot and crush injury and fractured ankle on the right. I have drove my self crazy trying to second guess my Dr because he says that there isnt anything he can do about the left foot and thr right foot he put a screw in the ankle but other than that there is nothing that can be done. I also have the pain that you speak of and the swelling at night.
Avatar f tn Putting any weight on an operated foot or ankle can do damage to the repair that’s been done. Bones need time to heal. Plates or screws that may have been added during surgery need the bones to heal around them. Adding weight too soon can interrupt this important internal healing process.
Avatar n tn My husband had a severe crush injury in his right foot. He broke all 5 metatarsals. Had surgery and currently has 6 pins in his foot. The open wounds have healed (its been 6 weeks) but he is still in a fair amount of pain. Primarily if his foot is not elevated above his heart he feels like blood is rushing to the foot area and it is extremely painful. As such, he is pretty much bed-ridden. My questions are: will the pain subside once the pins are removed?
Avatar f tn how can i get my foot to move like it used to before i broke it cause now its stiffened up so much that it hurts when i try popping any of the bones
Avatar f tn Tendonitis is another possibility. Foot infection, gout, rheumatoid arthritis are the other possibilities. It can also be ligament injury. You may need a MRI of the foot and ankle. Meanwhile, rest your feet by keeping them elevated on a cushion or stool. Apply ice pack. Take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar m tn When you see him, as him to tell you a little more about your injury. Broke your foot is a little vague. There are quite a few bones in your foot and ankle. Also, its important to know how bad the fracture was.
Avatar f tn Six months later I was diagnosed with fractures in both heels and have been in two casts, crutches and another walking boot. I am still in pain! I just had an MRI that shows Marrow Edema in four bones of my foot. What does this mean? I do not see the Dr. again for two weeks! I can't be on my feet for any length of time with suffering excruciating pain!
Avatar m tn I have occasional pain in my left foot just in front of my ankle bone. When it starts to hurt (which is about every couple of weeks) I get a knot there about the size of a quarter. The pain is so bad it keeps me awake at night. I can't bare my weight on that foot. What could this be??
Avatar n tn m 17 currently) I broke some bones in my foot. I had a cast on for a while and all that but ever since then, my right foot has been cold. I'm not sure if its related to the injury but I have no idea why only one foot would be affected like this. The foot is literally cold to the touch and feels cold and uncomfortable. (its mostly up by my toes) It feels like my foot is constantly in a pair of sandals in cold weather. Which you can imagine is painful and uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn A bone splinter refers to an abnormal bone fragment (usually occurs secondary to injuries/ fractures) which may be associated with any of the bones or the ankle joint. The seriousness and the management would depend on the size and the location of the fragment. This is best discussed in detail with your treating doctor. Hope this information helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn I fractured my cuboid bone over 5 months ago from an injury sustained when I jumped from my boat onto a floating dock, Struck a rotten board that collapsed lodging my foot in place as I fell over. It was not dx for 5 or 6 weeks. A walking shoe was ordered and I continued to work and was told it should be fine in 2 or 3 weeks. I thought it was healing, but for the past 1+ months the pain is increasing - arch/ankle.
Avatar m tn From what my orthopaedic said, I have numerous breaks in my heel and talus bones, but nothing that surgery can do to help me. My swelling is almost as bad as it was from day 1, he keeps telling me this normal. He said I'll be on crutches for 3-4 months and luckily I have a boot and not a cast. Is all this normal?
Avatar m tn I had a loaded pellet (approx 500kg) dropped on my foot by a forklift. No bones were broken but the pain causes me to cry, it is so severe. Much of the time my foot has a mind of it's own. I have been assessed as unemployable due to my foot injuries. Much of the time the foot and ankle are icy cold and most foot ware is near impossible to wear. I have been told I will have to have my foot amputated sooner than later.
19282444 tn?1475151681 I was scratching my third toe on left foot when I felt a stinging sensation that really hurt bad, and than the toe started to turn purple underneath between the top joint bones. Is it possible to break a toe that way, or could of stumped it against something the day before not remembering, and than pushing on it caused the injury possibly? Clue less what this could be but it hurts pretty bad. It's not hurting now but off and on it does this since, and turns purple.
Avatar f tn I have a bruised heel on my left foot. I stepped on a rock wearing flip flops. That happened a month ago and the pain is still with me. How long should this take to heel? Does anyone know a remedy or answers for me? Your help is appreciated.
Avatar f tn Last night around 9p an 80# object slid onto the top left side of my foot and was unable to remove it for around five seconds which seemed like eternity as my hands were full. The object rested on top between the baby toe and the ankle about an inch up from the floor. Anyway, it was fine when I walked to bed at 11p but at 2:30am pain woke me up, didn't want the blanket pressure and when getting up to stand on it to put pressure on it I couldn't.
Avatar m tn ve done muscle/tendon damage, or even have a occult fracture of one of the bones in your feet. Remember, this foot will be with you for the rest of your life, so take good care of it! Have your Mom or some other adult you trust take you to the doctor...Good luck!
Avatar m tn I had a foot injury in Oct.2008 (sesnoide bone under foot/below big toe). The xray and MRI indicated fracture but the bone scan said no fracture. The injury got much better (I was able to wearing running shoes) in Mar 2009. I went on vacation, walked too much and have not recovered. I have developped a constant swelling in my left foot. In the summer, when I take a hot shower or just when I wake up, my foot becomes red and swollen.
