Foot anatomy with cartilage

Common Questions and Answers about Foot anatomy with cartilage

foot

Avatar n tn Whenever I lift my feet, including when I am walking, they hang down heavily and it feels like the Tibia? (I looked at a picture of ankle/foot anatomy and based on the diagram I assume it is the Tibia) and my feet are disconnected. It sort of feels like a bruising pain. I even have trouble rotating both of my feet. Not because of the pain (even though it does hurt) but it is hard to rotate to the front.
Avatar f tn I have recently begun experimenting with anal stimulation on my 19-year-old boyfriend by penetrating his anal cavity with my finger. About 2-3 inches in my finger comes into contact with something small, smooth, kind of pointy-ish, and kind of hard-ish (feels almost similar to cartilage but not quite). I don't know what this is and I don't know if it is something normal or something to be concerned about.
Avatar n tn I got in a fight with the ice last week and the ice won! My foot went one direction, but my knee went another. Just before I hit the ground, I felt and HEARD a 'pop'! My MRI report reads: "The menisci and cruciate ligaments are intact. High grade proximal medial collateral ligament sprain. The medial retinaculum is nearly completely torn from its femoral attachment. Articular cartilage ulcer at the medial patellar facet.
Avatar n tn As it says, aim the tip toward your back, not straight up or you hit the vaginal wall. I found it easiest to do it while slightly squatting, but you can try with a foot up on the side of the tub or something else. If you are trying to feel where it should go, you would curve your finger up. You shouldn't hit anything hard until the upper part of the vagina where the cervix is. If you hit that, it feels like cartilage (like your nose sort of).
Avatar m tn I went to an ENT Doctor and made a test for my ear and there was no problem in my ear then he saw my nose and told me that I need to make a surgery for my nose cartilage to solve the ear clogging problem. I don't know if I understood him right, but he said that the left nostril is closing which causes pressure on my left ear and causing it to get clogged. I am asking here to see if there may be other causes for this problem, and to see if anyone has faced this before? Thanks.
657653 tn?1224680706 Aside from weight reduction and avoiding activities that exert excessive stress on the joint cartilage, there is no specific treatment to halt cartilage degeneration or to repair damaged cartilage in osteoarthritis. Apart from regular NSAID's, treatment options can include arthrocentesis and arthroscopy, arthroplasty, osteotomy and arthrodesis. Depending on the extent of damage to the bone and disc treatment options might vary. Check this link for further information. http://www.
Avatar f tn Well I thought they were attached with cartilage, tendons, or something else - just goes to show you I made the correct decision when I decided not to pursue nursing, lol. And I meant to clarify - I don't know if childbearing is the reason for those ribs being "disconnected", just that I believe those ribs being "disconnected" (still not sure about what term to use there) is the reason why more women don't suffer from broken ribs.
Avatar f tn But the baby had the legs and feet curled up in between so it could have been the leg or foot bone. I honestly think it looked like a foot bone. I looked up pics of the girl anatomy and none of the pics I seen looked anything like what she showed us. Idk she's the tech I guess but now I gotta wait and see if my doctor will want to take out the ultrasound machine at my next appointment and see if she can get our little love to open his/her legs.
Avatar n tn I had a bad fall about a year ago where I landed full force onto my knee which resulted in swelling and bruising that went from my knee down to my foot. I had pain on certain movements from then on. When I would get up sometimes my knee felt like it gave out. Also since then I have not been able to kneel down without pain in the kneecap.
Avatar f tn I can walk on it but I can’t normally. I can’t press my foot flat against the ground and walk. I can’t even straighten my leg up. My leg has to be at an angle, and I limp regardless. There was one night I stretched out that leg without thought. It popped horribly and hurt. The swelling has gone down, but still tender around the knee. I already have Achilles tendinitis in the left ankle, which makes it very hard to stand for more than five to ten minutes at a time, especially at work.
Avatar f tn My niece was born with a club foot. With a couple years of therapy, she's now 7 and perfectly normal.
Avatar n tn I had surgery for a freibergs infarction over a month ago and I am still in tremendous pain. I am being told continously to elevate my foot. When my foot is elevated for 5-10 minutes it goes completely numb and causes more pain. The pain is tremendous when elevated. I always thought that elevation would alieviate pain not increase this. What could be causing this?
Avatar f tn ve never felt the tingling at the bottom of my foot before and am wondering with all these symptoms what could be going on with my knee. Only in the beginning of my flare up will I get severe swelling. Enough for it to feel like a band is wrapped tightly around my knee even when just sitting or standing. Can someone please help me figure out what could possibly be going on? I have 2 children ages 10 and 4. It makes it hard for me to run with them or even go for walks.
Avatar f tn weeks They check the spine, heart, kidney, bladder, take measurement of babys size such as skull and I think they do crown to heel measurements rather than crown to rump. Also check foot for Club foot and measure femur bone. They do do a lot of checking but dont worry its precautionary for the most part. Theu do watch the heart beat and examine of course to make sure all os developing correctly. Its actually neat to see the babys spine and heart etc. good luck!
Avatar n tn i hurt my knee skate boarding and my front foot was still on the board while my back foot was on the ground causing me to do the splits in a way with one leg and i got a burning in my knee swelled up horribly and that was a year ago and today i went to get off a ladder and my knee felt like it clicked and made me collapse and now its got fluid in it again.. does anyone know what kind of injury this may ne to my knee?
Avatar f tn I am now having issues with part of the bottom of my foot, including the ball of my foot and all my toes except the last three. When I move my foot, it feels like it has been asleep with the tingling, like pins and needles, and I cant go without shoes on that foot, I cant wear sandals, and when I do try to go without shoes on, the heal of my foot feels like the bone is going thru my foot. When I relax of an evening, my foot has like muscle spasms.
Avatar f tn Recently my ankle has swelled up again (no re-injury) and I have sharp pains across the top of my ankle when I flex my foot towards my body. I can walk on it with some pain and the swelling goes down at night or when elevated. X-rays show no break in the tib or fib... Should I treat it as a sprain and do I need to stay off of it? Possible injuries? - Talus dome fracture? - Cartilage damage?
Avatar f tn I tested this by pushing out on the foot pedal contraption with only my left leg, and I could manage that for a few inches, as it was really tired. When I tried it with my right leg, though, I could barely move at all. So, just as thought, the left leg had been doing all the work.
Avatar n tn Hallux rigidus is actually a form of degenerative arthritis (a wearing out of the cartilage within the joint that occurs in the foot and other parts of the body. It causes pain and stiffness in the big toe, and with time it gets increasingly harder to bend the toe. X-rays can diagnose the condition. Treatment depends upon the severity of damage of cartilage. Physical therapy, NSAID’s, cortisone injections and rest can help in treating the condition.
Avatar f tn Yes, I am speaking of the knee. MRI came back with results with mucoid degeneration in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus.
280234 tn?1532986249 This little area of bony or soft tissue swelling is associated with a litle bit of hypertrophy in the peroneal tubercle, but since it is not causing pathology with the peroneal tendons, I don't think it needs excised. The other possibility is that this may be a small ganglion cyst associated with the peroneal tendons. I will treat this with observation. I will see the patient p.r.n." The doctor only did an x-ray. She didn't do an MRI or biopsy.
Avatar f tn Allowing for motion artifact, the medial meniscus appears intact. Articular cartilage and marrow signal are normal. The MCL is intact. LATERAL COMPARTMENT: Allowing for motion artifact, there is fraying to the lateral meniscal posterior horn free edge, and the posterior root is diminutive. Superficial chondral fibrillation is present at the posterior meniscal surface of the tibial plateau without subchondral remodeling.
Avatar m tn Surgery is also an option. I would suggest you to wear proper foot wear and discuss with your orthopedician for use of braces, knee sleeves, arch supports and custom orthotics if these will help you. You can have arthritis at young age and when the joint cartilage is lost then you would need total knee replacement. Take care!
Avatar n tn t hurt, it feels like any joint cracking, but unless i missed that day of anatomy class there is no joint in your chest. It also happens sometimes when i stretch, pushing my shoulders back and my chest out. It causes mild pressure in my chest for a few moments, but not long, and its not painful. I'm a 19 year old male, i'm 5'7 and 145 lbs, i have been diagnosed with chronic pvc's a few years back. but i really don't think thats related.
