Common Questions and Answers about Foot anatomy views

Avatar f tn Yes, a ct 64 slice scan angiogram is as good as a cath angiogram to view the anatomy of the vessels. Cath angiogram only views the lumen (cavity) for blockage, but a ct scan views the entire anatomy of the vessel and trhat would include the buildup of soft plaque between the inner lining and the upper layer.
Avatar f tn But the baby had the legs and feet curled up in between so it could have been the leg or foot bone. I honestly think it looked like a foot bone. I looked up pics of the girl anatomy and none of the pics I seen looked anything like what she showed us. Idk she's the tech I guess but now I gotta wait and see if my doctor will want to take out the ultrasound machine at my next appointment and see if she can get our little love to open his/her legs.
Avatar f tn My ct scan was more inclusive as it took images of the lungs, heart and thorax. It showed the complete anatomy of the heart vessels that included any soft plaque within the lining of the vessel. The ct software scored the soft plaque and evaluated the risk of a rupture. It also discloses any hard plaque within the lumen (vessel channel). The cath views the lumen for plaque, and has the ability to determine gradient pressures of chambers and vessels...
776302 tn?1241091853 The ct scan 64-slice is almost as accurate as a cath for imaging the lumen (channel) of the vessels. But a ct scan 64-slice is more inclusive. It views the respiratory system (lungs), heart vessel anatomy, and aorta (ascending, arch, and descending). The total anatomy of the vessel is imaged and able to determine the degree of soft plaque that resides in an area between lumen and outer lining of the vessel, and the computer compiles the slices giving a 3-D perspective.
Avatar f tn I got a letter in the mail today from my midwife, its an appointment for the ob gyn on Thursday at 2:15. I dont go to the obgyn I have a midwife. And I already have my normal appointment with my midwife the same day only in the morning and all this paper says is "primary/billing diagnosis: supervision of normal first pregnancy. reason for referral:OB US. Clinical information/comments: OB US for anatomy. Prior US had limited views of sagittal spine." Thats all it says.
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old and have asked in my age group to talk with someone else whos baby has been diagnosed with club foot, but no luck. Just wondering if anyone here is going through what I am?
Avatar f tn weeks They check the spine, heart, kidney, bladder, take measurement of babys size such as skull and I think they do crown to heel measurements rather than crown to rump. Also check foot for Club foot and measure femur bone. They do do a lot of checking but dont worry its precautionary for the most part. Theu do watch the heart beat and examine of course to make sure all os developing correctly. Its actually neat to see the babys spine and heart etc. good luck!
Avatar f tn I had my anatomy ultrasound at 20 weeks, 5 days. My next appointment will be my glucose test. They are doing another ultrasound because my baby was uncooperative and didn't give them good views of everything they needed to see. I don't think they normally do an ultrasound when you go for your glucose test.
Avatar f tn I am now having issues with part of the bottom of my foot, including the ball of my foot and all my toes except the last three. When I move my foot, it feels like it has been asleep with the tingling, like pins and needles, and I cant go without shoes on that foot, I cant wear sandals, and when I do try to go without shoes on, the heal of my foot feels like the bone is going thru my foot. When I relax of an evening, my foot has like muscle spasms.
Avatar f tn I've never used it myself, but I know a couple women who have used it, and it sent them into a very quick labour. It's been around for a long time. Women have been using it for years. I ended up having to be induced and had an oxytocin drip and the dr ruptured my membrane because I was 9 days late and my son just didn't want to come out. I ended up having a c section because of the oxytocin drip. It dropped my son's heartbeat to an unsafe level.
Avatar f tn What are your views on co-bathing? I think im going to do it but im not sure.
Avatar f tn I just wanted to know if it was accurate I have read Moo views on the test. It has only been out on the market for a couple years now.
Avatar f tn I am a 36yo female. My left foot started throbbing during the night about 2 weeks ago. The next morning it felt much better but has continued to be sore on and off since. I started examining my foot and noticed that there is a small hard kknot on the bone of my cuboid. This knot does not hurt. Could this be the source of my pain? My foot actually hurts more toward the outside and where the heel starts. The heel itself is not really painful.
Avatar n tn So, the fracture, ligament tear or tendon injury can be at the top of the foot or at the back You need an X-ray of the foot in two views to detect if there is a fracture. You may also need MRI. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar n tn I had an intial injury to my right foot in April 2010. The injury was sudden and not the product of a determined source (i.e. impact, rolling, twisting). The lateral side of my foot near the 5th metatarsophalangeal joint swelled and bruised immediately. I was unable to seek medical treatment at that time so I rested my foot for 2-3 weeks and the pain dissipated and I was able to return to my usual routine.
Avatar n tn for last few days i have a dull achy pain in sole of my foot especially the left foot (distal metatarsal area ) it worsens when i stand walk or wear footwears !

Avatar f tn So today was pt 2 of my anatomy scan. & she still couldn't get everything so I go back for pt 3 in 3 weeks :/ I didn't find out the gender, still a surpruse but I think I saw some balls lol so excited! & his face looks such like a boy. I'm so excited-er! :) & baby is still measuring a wk less than my due date. So am I 23wks 3days or 22wks 3 days?! Idk.
Avatar f tn My taller baby would do that to me. It always felt like she was doing yoga in there. when I went in for anatomy scan she was sucking her toes. It's probably just baby's foot.
Avatar f tn The CT scan is angioplasty and a cath angioplasty is unnecessary unless there is going to be a stent implant as a cath would only verify what the CT images show. The CT scan is more inclusive than a cath as it views the anatomy of the vessel, respiratory, aorta, etc. as well as the lumen...the cath only views the lumen unless there is ultra sound attached to the probe. An echocardiogram would not show any ischemia...
Avatar f tn Dear Robin, Having read and responded to your posts previously on this board, I am somewhat familiar with your son’s case. In further discussing his anatomy with Dr. Julie Brothers, one of our cardiologists who is also an expert in anomalous coronary artery anatomy and outcomes, it appears that he may not necessarily be at increased risk for decreased blood flow to his heart with the anatomy that you describe.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have a distal fibula fracture and was wondering about how long before it'll heal. I had fallen down the stairs of my apt. after moving some stuff, missing a step, landing on right foot, and I couldn't walk afterward. The fall itself didn't hurt me, but I knew immediately my ankle was broken as it was swollen. I have some of the posts about it and it scares me that it may not unite. What is the general outlook for this type of fracture?
Avatar f tn For example my SIL had the quad screen done and the results came back that the odds for down syndrome were 1 in 120, then they did her anatomy scan and saw a heart defect which increased the odds to 1 in 10. She then decided to go ahead and have the amniocentesis done and after a two week wait for the results she received the prenatal diagnosis that her daughter did have down syndrome.
Avatar n tn You appear to be in very good cardio condition based on what you state in your post. The CT angio images the anatomy of the coronary vessels, and provides views of the 3 layers of the vessel and if there is any soft plaque between the layers. There is a calcium score that provides a numerical value representing the degree of soft plaque. Soft plaque can rupture into the vessel channel and cause a heart attack.
