Avatar f tn Due to the tarsal repair you have lost lot of mass like muscle and soft tissue so the normal anatomy has been changed and for this you have to wear proper shoes. Try not to wear footwear which causes pain and with physiotherapy and exercise you will gain strength and fight the pain . Take care!
Avatar m tn My surgeon has me taping my toes so that the big toe and the next toe come together. He said the soft tissue in the foot after being taped for 2 months would eventually bring the toes together. I have been taping the foot for about a month now. My question is, once I stop taping the toes together will they go back to their original state? If the taping doesn't work, the doctor wants to try another procedure.
Avatar f tn I recently had a severe tooth infection with cellulitis in my left face/jaw. I caused the left half of my chin to go numb. I had 4 teeth removed by an oral surgeon 3 months ago. I was left with a large lump in my jaw and still have very little feeling in my left chin. I had a CT scan done that said there was "nonspecific soft tissue prominence" in my jaw. I returned to my oral surgeon with this information and he said it was just "extra fat". This doesn't sound right.

Avatar m tn If there has been prior heart attack and scar tissue, the electrical impulse will not properly conduct through the scar tissue and that will provide a wave form on the EKG output. The st segment on the EKG output is the segment of interest. Also, a different configuration of the st segment can indicate an enlarged heart and that could cause a future heart attack. An enlarged heart requires more time for the electrical impulse, etc. to pass through the heart tissue.
Avatar m tn However, certain things should be check as you have a soft tissue swelling. These factors can also contribute to pain and need to be addressed. The soft tissue swelling (golf ball size) under your incision area can be a contusion (which is the expected level of inflammation post incision) or it could be a localized collection of blood (hematoma), pus (abscess) or bunching of soft tissue or muscles. All these can cause varying degree of pain. So, please get this evaluated.
Avatar f tn Bear in mind that the imaging tool cannot really tell whether something is really soft tissue or not. Hence, it is something that looks like soft tissue. The list would include a number of things, from abnormal collections of normal tissue (put another way, normal tissue that is placed in an abnormal location) such as hamartomas, collections of infection (abscess or granuloma, fungal balls).
Avatar n tn Osteomyelitis, as you know, is infection of the bone. In most cases when osteomyelitis exists, it impairs the ability of overlying soft tissue to heal. If the tissue does heal, the chance of recurrent infection is very high. Generally speaking the usual treatment for osteomyelitis is removal of the infected bone, closure with healthy tissue and a course of antibiotics directed at the causative agent. The second part of treatment involves assessment of the blood flow.

Avatar m tn If they are erect, they can be felt through the soft tissue of the vaginal area even if they are buried in the tissue. I would guess, it's more likely that she is not very aroused, versus having an unusually deep placement of the clitoris. Of course anything is possible, but you're drawing a portrait of someone who is not getting excited enough for the clitoris to pop up in the first place, not someone who has a missing or abberant clitoris.
Avatar f tn We had 3 echongenic cardiac focus on our 20 week ultrasound. They are a soft tissue marker for downs syndrome, but often times a false positive.
Avatar n tn As there is very little soft tissue to protect the top of the foot, bone injuries are common. The second, third and fourth Metatarsals are the most commonly injured bones due to something falling on your foot. Without any fracture you would need physiotherapy and anti inflammatory medications to decrease the pain and inflammation. I would also suggest you to wear proper footwear. Take care!
Avatar n tn The problem is restricted circulation, reduced motion, inflammation, and probable need for care of the soft tissue that were injured from whatever caused the fracture.
Avatar f tn This is what its got on my letter, there is no soft tissue mass identified within the pouch and the soft tissue mass outside the bowel in the pelvis is thought to be likely ovarian, could anyone please tell me what this means.

Avatar f tn The lump is sure due to soft tissue as there is nothing on an X-ray. Rule out skin lesions like infections, sebaceous cyst, varicose vein, scar tissue, foot injury, gouty tophi or ganglion cyst. It can also be a ligament or tendon injury. Follow up with a physician for a proper diagnosis. Take care!

Avatar f tn re correct -- the new auto accident has probably created a whiplash -- these are soft tissue injuries and they hurt. Generally, you'd have been referred for PT. Perhaps the compression fracture has complicated matters? Perhaps the Percocet is wearing off during sleep, and the subsequent pain is waking you up? Are you allowed to take a second pill?
Avatar n tn It is a common misconception that back pain always stems from the pressure of a slipped disc ,facet joint injury or a trapped nerve. This is misleading, the cause of pain is also soft tissue inflammation stimulating nerves, causing the pain signal.so after opertaion, herniated disc gone, but perhaps you still suffer from soft tissue inflammation in lower back which can lead to same pain as you said.So more surgeries might not help,I guess. Deep and intensive acupuncture work for FBSS.
Avatar n tn Soft tissue injuries can hurt worse and take longer to heal than broken bones because we tend to keep using the injured body part. Did your doctor give you instructions like taking over-the-counter meds such as Advil or Aleve and using ice to keep the swelling down? It might be helpful to ask your doctor for a boot cast anyway just to keep it immobilized for a while while the tissues heal.
