Serous membranes line and enclose several body cavities, known as serous cavities, where they secrete a lubricating fluid which reduces friction from muscle movement.
Avatar f tn However, it will be necessary for you to have studied human anatomy and physiology even to begin to get a grip on it. The reason is that this is highly technical stuff that is almost impossible to explain to people without some specialized education. At the bottom of your ekg report, there should be some kind of brief summary describing your heart's health in fairly plain English.
Avatar f tn I took them with my first and found the anatomy and physiology you learn behind birth and what happens after interesting, but I didn't end up using anything I learned there while in labor. It's beneficial for learning about what happens after baby is born and what will happen in the upcoming weeks though.
7343521 tn?1402371959 s an Anatomy and Physiology test! Yuck. Summer school was the worst decision of my life lol.
Avatar n tn I understand what the report says as I have taken anatomy and physiology, but am unsure if these are injuries that will heal with time, physical therapy, surgery, or a combination. Can anyone help me? I'm a disabled veteran and all of my care comes from the VA. I am concerned that the wrong decision will be made regarding my care. The VA doesn't have the best of reputations for surgery! I wish I could see an orthopedic surgeon elsewhere but I can't afford it.
Avatar m tn Unless you have taken at least college-level anatomy and physiology, *you* don't read EKGs. I am not kidding. Your average GP can do a basic read and tell if anything really unusual is there, but even he or she will need a specialist to explain anything remotely exotic. Ask your husband's cardiologist for a an explanation in plain English.
Avatar f tn Hello~You definitely help for this. You need to get some counselling, you could end up damaging your penis for life and that in turn could lead to other issues such as infection and possibly blood clots.
Avatar f tn But the baby had the legs and feet curled up in between so it could have been the leg or foot bone. I honestly think it looked like a foot bone. I looked up pics of the girl anatomy and none of the pics I seen looked anything like what she showed us. Idk she's the tech I guess but now I gotta wait and see if my doctor will want to take out the ultrasound machine at my next appointment and see if she can get our little love to open his/her legs.
Avatar f tn At your age, there is really almost no possibility of heart disease, but since you are clearly a thoughtful person, I suggest that you take classes in biology and AP anatomy and physiology if offered.
Avatar f tn ) I am taking an Anatomy and Physiology class and one of my classmates is also pregnant and has the same problem, our instructor is amazing and suggested the same thing to her.
Avatar m tn Therapist had all registrations but was so lacking in empathy and also basic anatomy and physiology Am feeling foolish letting someone like this inseqgt needles in my body which is an invasive procedure. Dr treating me with anth infannatories & musclerelaxants. Hopefully will pass in time but has am much worse after than before the acupuncture.
Avatar f tn If you wake out of sleep at night, 'adrenal surges'--even though the adrenals are the fashionable gland of the hour and you can read about them in supermarket checkout lines everywhere--are the least likely cause. The most likely causes are sleep phase disruption due to depression or anxiety (extremely common), or nocturnal panic attacks. You can google these terms.
Avatar n tn Courage mummy as you await your little one. I'm taking summer class in anatomy and physiology. Can't wait too .
Avatar f tn s nice to know the anatomy and physiology of labor, but I threw all techniques out the window when it was go time. I did not find them helpful, personally. I'm sure it's very beneficial for some women, depends on the mother, I suppose.
Avatar n tn Our answers are based on the fact that we understand the physiology of HIV transmission and the anatomy of the virus. Our answers are based on science.
Avatar f tn My niece was born with a club foot. With a couple years of therapy, she's now 7 and perfectly normal.
Avatar f tn weeks They check the spine, heart, kidney, bladder, take measurement of babys size such as skull and I think they do crown to heel measurements rather than crown to rump. Also check foot for Club foot and measure femur bone. They do do a lot of checking but dont worry its precautionary for the most part. Theu do watch the heart beat and examine of course to make sure all os developing correctly. Its actually neat to see the babys spine and heart etc. good luck!
Avatar f tn Overall, since you are clearly healthy, unless you have taken real classes in anatomy and physiology, you will be better off *not* getting hung up on minor findings in your EKG. And again, overall, getting therapy for your health anxiety will free you up to enjoy your life.
Avatar f tn I sometimes have problems walking still my ankle feels like it doesnt want to work and then I get a sharp pain in it and I have to stop and relax my foot. I need to know does this sound like I could have some nerve damage to my foot? Please help me!
Avatar n tn For the last hour or so, I've been feeling a pulsating in what I believe is my abdominal aorta (source: I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology II). I don't have any other symptoms of an aortic aneurysm (no chest/back pain or difficulty breathing; just the weird feeling that comes along with your abdominal aorta pulsating). Is this still a reason to worry? What else could be causing this pulsation feeling?
Avatar f tn ) I have a penchant for research and a love for anatomy, physiology, pathology, etc. so I was really freaking myself out for awhile there. I was convinced that my baby was going to have all kinds of weird stuff. Finally my husband insisted that I "step away from the computer" and I am much happier these days.
Avatar n tn I can tell you that there is data to demonstrate that significant tricuspid valve regurgitation in the face of a Norwood procedure (and eventual single ventricle physiology) is a significant risk factor for cardiac complications and need for reoperations. He shouldn't be any more susceptible to infections, however. There is no reason that you cannot obtain a second opinion, nor is there a reason that you cannot have any follow-up care performed somewhere else.
