Avatar f tn Craveing salty food is very common in pregnancy. The increased estrogen also changes your taste buds changing what food tastes like, and often leaving a gross metallic taste.
Avatar m tn This is all in your head. Eating a pound of butter is a stupid thing to do, but just doing it once isn't going to have any long-term effects. Also, at least to my knowledge, dairy doesn't have that much to do with estrogen -- it's pretty far down on the list of foods that are estrogenic.
Avatar f tn t take birth control (the high estrogen makes me grow precancerous lumps in my breasts). So she put me on flaxseed oil, she said it is a plant estrogen which might help with my lining. Has anyone done this?? Did it work?
Avatar f tn So I am guessing that is what causing it to be high. But I also read eating foods with lots of vitamins (ex. Selenium. Melatonin, vitamin b, magnesium, etc.) helps reduce it. But all this time I've been on a diet and I have been eating all of that. Does not explain why it is still high. What is a normal estrogen level. And what can I do to lower it? I have been eating less carbs, no sugar. And taking multivitamins, vitamin d.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with DCIS (estrogen positive , had a lumpectomy, had radiation and is now taking tomixifen. I wanted to know how harmful eating foods with soy in it,, i am getting so many different answers to this question.
Avatar f tn m not sure why except I am back to eating more variety in foods, even spicy foods. I notice I get them after I eat, but like Mom said, "you have to eat." I would be interested in any natural remedies to hot flashes, too, as I do not want to go with estrogen or other medications.
Avatar m tn In particular, hormones added to meats and poultries can inhibit testosterone production while encouraging the production of estrogen, which is the female hormone. Elevated levels of estrogen in men cause them to take on more feminine characteristics. In fact, when estrogen levels in men are higher than they should be, it can bring about a whole slew of unwanted and potentially dangerous side effects.
Avatar m tn Ovariectomy and estrogen supplementation were used to evaluate the effect of estrogen on HBV titers in transgenic mice with replicating HBV in hepatocytes. The effect of estrogen signaling on transcription of HBV genes, and the mechanisms of regulation, were studied in HepG2 cells. RESULTS: HBV titers increased in female mice after ovariectomy and decreased in male mice supplemented with estrogen. Hepatic expression of estrogen receptor (ER)? was increased by estrogen exposure.
Avatar n tn No, you don't. But giving up all dairy products is just smart. All dairy cows produce a lot of estrogen just to produce milk. Forget the fact that they are given de-wormers, antibiotics, growth hormones and such. And animal estrogen isn't a good thing. Then there comes the debate about phytoestrogens in plants. Soy for instance .... so many studies and so many different answers! Keep everything in moderation and you will do well. I actually take a drug called neurontin for hot flashes.
Avatar n tn Anyway, I have a lot of itching and was not sure which cream to use (with them sort of being opposites, if you use estrogen when you need progesterone, it can be really bad). Anyway, itching=low estrogen, I'll try the estrogen cream. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar f tn to reducing estrogen such as organic diets, eat more fiber, include flax seed in your diet, eat sulfuric foods (onions, garlic, leafy green vegetables) which improves liver function and can help estrogen levels be more normal, eat more broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts, eat red grapes, drink green tea, etc. I kid you not, these are ways to help normalize estrogen that people say are effective. Too much estrogen is pretty rare for menopause as you usually have the opposite.
Avatar n tn You may be getting too much estrogen or hormones. This is mainly in processed or fast foods. Once you cut down, they will revert to normal. Also, look at the labels of certain shampoos. Anything with Sodium Laureth Sulfate (although most shampoos have this) has estrogen. But please do some research on Sodium Laureth Sulfate before quitting.
Avatar f tn d read, on this forum, that B6 absorption may be reduced by the estrogen in foods. Although I realize that the comment was about food, I wanted to investigate the estrogen angle. Especially since my neuropathy symptoms improved so much during my period. And I'd read some accounts where neuropathy was worse prior to period onset (when progesterone is higher). Anyway I tried using estriol last night. (Estriol is a bio-identical estrogen cream.) Wow, did my symptoms worsen!
Avatar f tn So I guess what I am saying is Anyones estrogen can be out of whack. Boy (guys have estrogen also in their body) ,girl or woman in peri-menapause. This is a natural suppliment. But, IF YOU ARE ON BIRTH CONTROL PILLS, IT WILL KILL IT, AND YOU COULD GET PREGNANT. Also if you ae on an estrogen birth control that may be what is causing you headaches.
Avatar f tn I agree with Angebelle on reducing your weight, too much body fat throws off ones hormones. As far as birth control goes, it's really not going to do any good. I'm 5'5" 118-120 lbs and I have never been over weight, but I have PCOS and have hormonal issues and everytime the docs put on my birth control, my hormones got messed up even more. I would get a period every 2-3 months on my own and when I was on birth control pills I would never get a period.
Avatar f tn I had been reading online that it is possible to help facilitate regrowth by taking prenatal vitamins and bromelain tablets and green tea extracts as well as low dose aspirin and eating estrogen enriched foods as well, so I started taking the prenatal vitamins, the bromelain and green tea extracts and eating flax seed pumpkin seed and other estrogen rich foods. Now after just two weeks I am having spotting and am experiencing cramping.
Avatar m tn ll be less likely to make unhealthy food choices. Unhealthy foods, such as processed foods high in trans fat and oils high in omega-6 fats -- such as corn, soy and peanut -- increase inflammation and may make you feel worse. Also, try to fit in exercise at least 30 minutes five days a week. Gynecomastia is caused by an imbalance of hormones where testosterone levels may be low or estrogen levels may be high. The condition may affect men and boys of all ages and may affect one or both breasts.

Avatar f tn T3 Free 2.5 (range 2.3-4.2) - Isn't this supposed to be in the upper 3rd? TSH is 2.22 - I am comfortable with this number, I went too hyper and had anxiety attacks Free T4 is 0.9 (range 0.8-1.
Avatar f tn One thing to do is to stop eating GMO foods. They have been proven to cause these problems. Soy in particular and corn have been modified and can cause large amounts of estrogen. - Doctors more than ever before are prescribing Testosterone - possibly due to the fact that everyone is eating modified foods.
678918 tn?1226751211 It's not the caffeine itself but it changes the acid/base balance in the body which prompts the production of Estrogen to increase. It's the increased Estrogen that results in the formation of the cysts ... Fibrocystic Breast Condition. Other Estrogen rich foods can also have some effect ... fats, meats. It's complicated, isn't it ?? Regards .....
Avatar f tn I am in my 20's and I have autoimmune thyroiditis. I fluctuate between borderline/mild hypo and normal (I also have a history of hyper) and I get heart palpitations (PVCs and PACs) too. There seems to be some correlation between my palpitations and my thyroid hormone values (they seem to get worse when my labs are more hypo) and I actually never had them before my thyroid issues started.
