Fluticasone inhaler dose

Common Questions and Answers about Fluticasone inhaler dose

advair

Avatar f tn ll get used to the inhaled medicine better or later he will reduce the number of times you need to take the inhaler---or give you an inhaler that delivers less medicine and doesn't have this effect. I hope it's better by now.
Avatar n tn The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary. Your current dose of Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol is low and, at this level, highly unlikely to be associated with any clinically significant side effects. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive disease that will slowly worsen.
212161 tn?1599427282 when i do cough a lot nothing comes up its like water . no musc, when i take the inhaler it dose not bring anything up. thank you .
Avatar f tn I therefore took myself off this inhaler and told my asthma nurse about it. I have been off the inhaler for two years and practically symptom free. I only need my blue inhaler if I catch a cold. After two years nearly symptom free my asthma nurse wants me to go back on a steroid inhaler so has put me on cleril modulite 100mcg inhaler. I've been taking it for two weeks and notice my asthma getting worse and a build up of phlegm again. Why would the inhalers be making my asthma worse ?
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar n tn However using a long-term control medicine, like Advair, Diskus (fluticasone/salmeterol), should help clear it away quicker. Sometimes this test is repeated after he has used a rescue inhaler like albuterol. When there is a 20% increase the test is positive for asthma. Advair Diskus (fluticasone/salmeterol) and albuterol as needed are recommended for the treatment for asthma.
Avatar n tn I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
975514 tn?1324997938 My son is on a steroid inhaler for asthma. He had several courses of pred for asthma attacks in the year preceeding his diagnosis. At first the docs were thinking that his adrenal insufficiency was due to this but as time has gone on they now think that he has Addisons and his asthma meds had nothing to do with it. I am not sure what is in Advair as I am in the UK but the base drug Fluticasone is the most likely suspect when asthma meds are implicated in Adrenal insufficiency.
Avatar n tn Yeah, believe it or not that happens to me, I just googled 'asthma itchy back' to see if anyone else has a similar correlation. I'm 21 and have mild asthma, I use an inhaler once in awhile, usually only triggered by cat/dog hair. But when I start coughing and my asthma starts kicking in, i use my inhaler. The back doesn't start to itch until I use it, and scratching it feels soooooo good.
290867 tn?1333569278 My Mom says it sounds like asthma, but I have never had symptoms of it before...... She said to call the doctor to get an inhaler... Im kinda scared I may quit breathing in my sleep... What do you think itis!
Avatar m tn No you want to use the salmeterol/fluticasone mix. Part of asthma is the inflammation which ventolin does NOT treat at all. If you end up abusing it, you could get to the point of having so much inflammation and muscous in your lungs that you can't breathe, even with extra medication. The study will salmeterol that showed the increase in death gave salmeterol to the patients in addition to their current medication, thus some were not taking anything other than ventolin.
Avatar n tn Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) is generally well tolerated by most people with asthma but more than a few side effects have been reported, especially with the dose that contains the highest amount of fluticasone. If you can do OK with your asthma, you are wise not to take it. But, if you need it to control your asthma you should ask your doctor for the dose that has the lowest amount of fluticasone.
Avatar m tn I take Advair, (Fluticasone propionate / Salmeterol) once a daily inhaled. My asthma is not controlled without Advair, but is stable with one dose daily. I would like to take Harmine alkaloids (Harmine, Harmaline), but I'm not sure if Salmeterol is safe to take with Harmine alkaloids as they are MAOI (reversible MAOI however) are they safe to combine? Thank you!
Avatar f tn One of the components was salmeterol and the other was fluticasone. After I got off this I tried another steroid inhaler that did not have salmeterol with the same dreadful results. Then I went natural. It is cheaper, there are no side effects and it is more efficacious. I have better things to do than support a drug company that does not care for my health or safety.
Avatar m tn Third follow up after 10 days was prescribed Nasonex again, salt water and a seretide inhaler. We did not want to purchase the inhaler and decided to find another doctor because spirometry confirmed i did not have asthma and i'm not coughing like someone with asthma does.
Avatar m tn I had tests done at 4, 8,12, and 16 weeks. The thing is ive been taking Avamys abd seretide both are fluticasone. I read that corticosteroids affect the immune system and they can invalidate an hiv test. I took the test while taking those meds ive took them for 2 months in a low dose of 0.36 miligrams daily. Would it affect my tests? And do i need to repeat testimg.
Avatar m tn hi i wanted to ask a question well about a month a go i started to experience shortnes of breath when i excersise and i cant really breath all the way and i feel like i have alot of mucus on my chest because i spit and its reall sticky also idk but i cant reall breath trhough my nose i went to the clinic and they subscribed me with fluticasone propionate but it hasnt work any ideas
Avatar n tn For example, if you have asthma and a daily low to medium dose inhaled corticosteroid controls your symptoms, you should use that instead of a combination inhaler with a medium dose inhaled corticosteroid and a long acting bronchodilator. The combination inhaler has more medicine, and all that medicine is unnecessary if your asthma is controlled with a low to medium dose inhaled corticosteroid by itself. Your doctor has decided that Combivent is appropriate for your condition at this time.
Avatar n tn i'm using aerocort inhaler(each actuation deliversBelcomethasone Dipropionate-50mcg;Levosalbutamol Tartrate-50mcg;Absolute alcohol-7.4% v/v suspended in propellant HFA)....i feel problem in breathing 2-3 times a day and i take a dose and taking it for 7-8 years and also have much mucus developed....but "i feel drowsy and headache after taking each dose"..i have to take a light sleep to gain the freshness...what should i do, should i change my inhaler or consult doc.????
5894884 tn?1386969571 Where is your inhaler? My asthma seems to get worse with pregnancy, but your inhaler should be working, if not tell your ob. She should prescribe you another one. In the mean time, if you are struggling to breathe, go to the er and get a treatment asap!
Avatar n tn It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
