Avatar f tn the rash-like thing disappears sometimes but reappears again without specific stimulation. i had been applying fluticasone cream(which i think is a steroid cream) now and then for the past two years. the rash eases down on application of the cream. but that is never permanent disappearence and it appears again. since, fluticasone is, as much as i know, a steroid, i would like to know whether it can be replaced with some permanent treatment.
Avatar f tn I don't think they are cold sores. I have tried valacyclovir pills, eczema cream, antibacterial ointments, proactive, petroleum jelly, blistex, fluticasone propionate cream and have iced it and there has been no difference. Someone please help!!!
Avatar f tn I did go see a dermatologist and she gave me Fluticasone propionate ointment, 0.005% for it and it helped. But my question is am I going to have to deal with these flareups for the rest of my life or will this get better with age?
Avatar n tn It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
2114467 tn?1358210256 Coadministration with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4A protease inhibitors, boceprevir and telaprevir, may increase the systemic exposure to fluticasone following intranasal administration or oral inhalation. Boceprevir and telaprevir are potent inhibitors of CYP450 3A4. Since fluticasone undergoes extensive first-pass and systemic metabolism via hepatic and intestinal CYP450 3A4, inhibition of the isoenzyme may significantly increase systemic bioavailability of the drug.
Avatar m tn A year or so ago I finally went to an ENT, she said I had alergic rhinitis and prescribed fluticasone. 6 months later I went back because I still had constant congestion and usually a sore throat. I think the fluticasone made it a little bit better. Hard to tell. She gave me cetirizine (Zyrtec) in addition to the Fluticasone. Together they help a little, but they also make me sleepy all the time, and I still have congestion all the time.
Avatar n tn Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days. When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
Avatar f tn Hello, This can be due to an allergic reaction (say to body lotions, condoms, soaps etc) or it can be a skin condition like eczema, dermatitis etc or it can be a fungal infection. Other than that it can be a simple bacterial infection or balanitis. I suggest you to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done. The other method is by getting a biopsy skin done.
Avatar n tn You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.
Avatar n tn I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
Avatar m tn I noticed that there is a small patch on my left chin, where beard is scanty. It is not completely gone but the hair is scanty and the patch is obvious. I went to my dermatologist and he told me it is Alopecia Areata, though it could be in "initial stages" and it is "too hard to say anything". He told me to apply fluticasone cream twice a day, for a month. And if the hair doesn't grow back, he will give me steroid injections. Should I get those injections?
Avatar n tn While it is possible that the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) could have had something to do with your developing shingles, it is very unlikely. The risk of death you mention is a very, very small risk. Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) is generally well tolerated by most people with asthma but more than a few side effects have been reported, especially with the dose that contains the highest amount of fluticasone.
Avatar n tn I was given fluticasone propionate .05% cream for the area on my thigh and wrist. This cream was another corticosteroid which I was wanting to get off of. Perhaps I should have been on a cream fungi maint after the oral? I recently have seen a different dermatologist who suspected that I was allergic to the lotions I was applying. I was given a patch test with results of cobalt chloride, disperse yellow 3 and narcissus absolute.
Avatar m tn Both Dermatologists have have said its eczema but there has been no change in the condition despite their treatment. NOTHING stops the itching and its almost impossible not to scratch.
Avatar m tn i went to the same doc again he gave me steroid cream Fluticasone propionate to be applied for two months from now on!! It is used to treat secondary infection..!! The reddish rashes disappears when i apply Fluticasone propionate cream continuosly!! if i discontinue the cream! then the reddish rashes are occuring!!
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, these drugs like Albuterol and fluticasone do not interfere much with the cardiac activity. Albuterol predominantly acts on respiratory bronchioles but has a little action over heart. Hence, it should be cautiously used in him; these may cause elevation in blood pressure, heart rate and result in CNS stimulation/excitation. Albuterol may also increase risk of arrhythmias. Such effects are quiet negligible when given by inhalational route.
Avatar m tn My ENT has me using Fluticasone, but no other suggestions. I am hearing whistling in my ears when I talk. Feels like I need to pop my ears.
2017838 tn?1330598150 Thank you so much for your comment In fact, I don't have any problems with my sinus anymore except for the ear popping. The ENT prescribed fluticasone propionate which I have not used until now because I'm concern about the side effects. My question is can the ear popping resolve by itself ?? Without using fluticasone propionate ? Or complications might happen like ear infection if I don't use fluticasone propionate ?
Avatar f tn While it is known that high doses, much higher than Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder 500/50, of long-acting bronchodilator medicines, such as the Serevent® (salmeterol) in Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder, can cause abnormal heart rhythms, this is rare.
Avatar m tn can fluticasone increase heart rate. The following was a link which was very interesting. Check it out. A: https://www.ehealthme.com/ds/fluticasone-propionate/heart-rate-increased/ Since reading the information, I have stopped using the nose spray. It may take awhile, but I'll see if that was causing my heartbeat concern..
Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
