Hey, I have been taking the generic fluoxetine hydrochloride 10 mgs tablets for about 1.5 years now. My pharmacy recently changed manufacturers and the tablets are now blue... I do NOT tolerate these tablets as well and have also tried the 10mg capsules with the same effects (less effective more side effects- nausea, dizziness, fat face, racing thoughts, decreased libido, nightmares, sleep disturbances, etc.).. I have called several pharmacies but they all have the blue tablets too -_-...

My doctor also does not recommend the generic form of Prozac. I was on the name brand for years, then the insurance changed it on me. I noticed I was agitated, had anxiety, and was depressed for no apparent reason. She explained to me she had other patients with similar problems. So she contacted the insurance to ONLY designate name brand from now on. But I am very sensitive to medications and will get many small side effects. I'm sure you will be just fine.

Increased sweating is a common side effect of Prozac (Fluoxetine is the generic for Prozac so it is the exact same thing). For most patients the sweating settles down after a month or two after start of therapy...but not for all. Some patients that struggle with the sweating issue with take their Prozac at bedtime to try to minimize this side effect, but even that doesn't always work. Keep in mind that there are other anti-anxiety/depression choices out there if you are willing to try.

Fluoxetine is generic Prozac. I've been on it a few times, and I'm back on it again. It will take 4-6 weeks before you begin to feel a difference (sometimes sooner). But it will happen. The only side effect I've ever had from it was insomnia, but that always goes away in a few weeks, so give it some time. As far as alcohol goes, you don't say how much you drank, but I have had a couple of beers now and then on fluoxetine without any problems.

I've been taking Fluoxetine (generic Prozac) for a few years now and about 6 months ago I upped my dosage. My sex drive on the lower dose was already low, but now it's almost non-existent. At first it wasn't a problem because I haven't been seeing anyone, but now that I am I would really like to try and fix this problem. d like to make the switch from this effete, ersatz, generic fluoxetine 80 mg/day to Vivactil (brand only, not the generic protriptyline), because the change can take place almost as once -- no washout periods to disable my functioning completely that I have read about, yet. I was just wondering if anyone felt like posting how they extol the virtues of Vivactil -- good experiences, troubles, complications, or even people who hated it!

Carbamazepine is the generic name for tegretol with dose 600-1600mg. This is one of 3 most classical drugs for bipolarity used especially in Britain (lithium, tegretol, depakote) and have become standard for half a century. In the USA they don't use it often because of its interactions with other drugs. They substitute it for oxcarbazepine (trileptal) 1200-2400mg. The latrter has less interactivity with other drugs.

Actually, yes. Prozac can cause a false positive for amphetamines, and LSD. If you have tested positive for something you didn't take, you need to ask for another (more sensitive) test to be done. Hope that helps.

I was on fluoxetine (Prozac) for over a year from July 2011 then weaned off as was feeling and doing great and not wanting to be dependent on them, I had a bad week 5 week ago now with sleep so my doctor put me back on them and after 1/2 week felt great off 20mg at tea time, now this last week mainly from Wednesday I feel rubbish I know I'm getting 7/8 hours sleep but not feeling refreshed was wondering if changing to take it morning at 20mg and see if it works better or carry on tea time ta

I have been on Fluoxetine (40mg, 1xD) for some time now for Chronic Depressive Disorder. But lately I have been having bouts of depression again that last for several days. I am in a funk right now and can't seem to get out of it. I have no outside stresses right now other than the usual work and home stuff, but nothing major. I have been diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder. I was taking Prozac for about a year and half and had just recently stopped (approximately 2 weeks now). I gained about 30 lbs as a side effect (sadly)...so now I am left wondering if this will eventually "fade away" in time --- and if so, how long does it normally take for it to be completely out of your system ... ??? ... thanks for that, iv been on Prozac before back in 2011/2012 and weaned off them great but now back on and five and half week in and gone right down hill off only 20mg iv been put on zopiclone for night time as and when I need it but to me I need an increase

ve been on fluoxetine for almost a year now. I stopped taking melatonin when I started it because I read a few articles that it might potentially interfere. I was jw if anyone here take the two, and what your doctors have said or side effects you've had. Thanks.

I am prescribed 10MG Buspirone 2 x day, 20MG Fluoxetine (generic for prozac) 1 x per day, and I had tried taking amphetamine 10MG (generic for adderalll) 2 x day but I felt it put me in "slow motion" and I wasn't sure I had ADD rather than just anxiety. I did some research on my Myers Briggs type ENFJ and with chronic stress I start to use my inferior introversion and overthink everything instead of asking for help, which is my preferred tendency.
