Its really important to let your psyc know that your son has DM. That could account for a lot of his symptoms. For example, Irritability and other mood changes,fatigue and weakness are common symptoms. This would also make a kid very depressed. It would also explain why they had a problem pinning down his problems as they would shift due to the DM.
From what you mentioned in your other post he sounds like he has ADHD and that is causing a lot of the other problems.
I currently take 20mg of Fluoxetine daily. I was recently prescribed Tramadol for migraines; however, through my research it appears as though these together may have significant increased chances of seretonin toxicity.
What is the likelihood of a problem with taking these two medications? What should I be concerned with? Is it okay to take these two together?
He takes adderall for his ADHD and fluoxetine for his anxiety. The anxiety started about a month or two after starting the adderall. My sons doctor told me that it is common once the ADHD is treated that other problems which were masked by the ADHD come out. He had anxiety about bad things happening to his younger brother, such as thinking he was going to get hurt while he was running, playing or climbing on toys. His anxiety is under control now.

The only medication I am on is 20mg of fluoxetine and 54mg of concerta to help with my anxiety and ADHD. If you have any idea about what may be going on please tell me the pain has been bugging me for over a week so far and it is interrupting my sleep as well as distracting me from my studies.
I have problems w/ADHD, Anxiety that I take medication for (dexadrin and fluoxetine) and assumed that the symptoms were probably associated w/it. i also have problems w/severe menstrual cramps,, hair loss, and hair breakage. The list goes on. However, while searching for info on the profuse sweating, I found that I had symptoms of hyperthyroidism. My symptoms of ADHD have worsened and now I wonder if it isn't my thyroid. My brother went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed him fluoxetine and xanax. He said that my brother should take one 20mg tablet of fluoxetine for the morning and 0.5 tablet for xanax for morning and night for 14 days . He said to take the 0.5 mg xanax tablet half in morning and the other half at night
So, my brother took the fluoxetine and xanax for 14 days and then again went to the psychiatrist. My brother has not felt any improvement for his ocd or depression from the tablets.
I cannot seem to kick the Daytime sleepiness. I am taking 40 mg, fluoxetine, 150 bupropion. When I was on the bupropion with lamictal it seemed like I had less of this sleepiness.
Is there a possibility that lamictal may help? Anyone with experience on this? Should I up the fluoxetine, up the bupropion, switch bupropion for lamictal , add lamictal, up bupropion?

m posting this here as well as in the anxiety forums, in the hope that someone may answer. I am taking Fluoxetine 20mg for anxiety and depression, and have been taking it for just over a week. How long before I begin to see any benefits? Also, two more questions - they may seem trivial, but they are bothering me - is it safe to break open the Fluoxetine capsules, as I can not swallow them? Also I am taking 5mg Diazepam - is that safe?
There's no such thing as a nervous breakdown. You need to get into therapy. As for the medication, you won't know if it'll work until you try it -- we all react differently. Alcohol increases depression and stomach problems, so that's a problem, not a remedy.
I've had depression for some time and was prescribed fluoxetine a few months ago. In the second and third week of taking it I experienced what I can only describe as mild euphoria and a sort of agitation- not being able to sleep, restlessness and the shakes- which was not unpleasant because of the euphoric feeling that accompanied it.
I tested positive but I am allergic to Fluoxetine Hcl, Diphenhydramine Hcl, Doxycycline, Venlafaxine Hydrochloride, Fluoxetine, Azithromycin and Amoxicillin-Pot Clavulanate.

Ive been to the doctors and they put me on Fluoxetine tablets. One a day until they tell me to stop. However I've had two so far but want to stop. I know you have to slowly come off of them but if I've only had two can I just stop? Please help!
Yes, the little one could have ADHD. It certainly is an inherited disorder for many - but not all kids. But, i have had kids in the classroom who have ADHD and their brother or sister did not. So it certainly is not guaranteed.
By the way, I have seen the changes in how ADHD is treated over the years. Having spent almost 40 years in the classroom. It is being treated much better now then it was.
Do not stop taking fluoxetine without talking to your doctor. If you suddenly stop taking fluoxetine, you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as mood changes, irritability, agitation, dizziness, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, anxiety, confusion, headache, tiredness, and difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.
Yes I suffer from the same problems as you describe above and have been on and off fluoxetine for several years for major depression and I can reassure you that the side effects as far as increased anxiety at the beginning of treatment are common and I have had to take an antianxiety medication for the first couple of weeks to combat this effect. In 2-3 weeks it should subside and that's usually when I also start to feel the desired effect of fluoxetine.
On a dose of 40mg, I'd think you'd be seeing some positive effects if you're going to at all (I was on 20mg initially). I've been on fluoxetine (40mg) for some time, just upped it to 50. I don't think it's helping and I'm planning on changing psychiatrists. While your doctor should know what to do, I would stress that you're worried it's not agreeing with you. You definitely need to be very vocal or your doctor won't be able to help.
I have. 62 20mgs if fluoxetine....i skipped a few days of my pills and want to take them all..what will happen?
