Fluconazole one dose

Common Questions and Answers about Fluconazole one dose

diflucan

Avatar f tn Fluconazole is an antifungal and one pill stays in the blood stream for 3 days. It is normal to take a 'loading dose' the first time which helps get a jump start on the infection. I would take it as the doctor directed. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Does a one time 150 mg dose of fluconazole for vaginal thrush affect the effectiveness of hormonal birth control (the pill)?
Avatar f tn I'm taking 1 tablet twice a day fluconazole for 7 days .
Avatar f tn ) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day. Then my itching came back. I still had mild irritation and itching on day two of the fluconazole second dose so I went and bought Monostat3. My concern is why isn’t it completely going away?
Avatar f tn Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?
Avatar m tn Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
Avatar f tn A 1998 review concurred with this assessment (15).
Avatar n tn ve tried to better my diet and when doing a bit of research, found that one of the side effects of taking fluconazole was hair loss. I've immediately stop taking this and want to know if my hairloss situation should get better. I was taking this medication for a nail fungus I had, it's already gone. I was going to take my last dose in two days, but don't think it will make a difference if I stop taking it now. I really just want to know if my hair will grow back.
Avatar m tn This time I took fluconazole 150 mg that my doctor prescribed at the last visit. I even took a second dose 72 hours later and I am still having itching, redness, and soreness. I am scared now, I don't know why fluconazole isn't working (it worked for me in the past). What else can I use? I feel out of options, since fluconazole failed. It can't be bacterial, because discharge is white and odorless.
Avatar f tn d for thinking i had an infection, she told me to get some) and use it on days when I am itchy. She gave me a prescription for one tablet of Diflucan, when I was picking up my prescription, the pharmacy techs said its not recommended during pregnancy, mainly first trimester, but they gave me the pill and I haven't taken it yet. I was wanting to know your thoughts or if any of you have used this ?? Sorry it's so long!
Avatar f tn Topical antifungals take time to work, sometimes a few weeks.. Gotta use them twice daily. I don't think one dose of (oral) diflican would work if the infection is on your skin (as opposed to a woman's vagina).
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn The cream that you require is called Canesten and the oral one dose capsule is called Fluconazole. The Fluconazole costs around £10 in the UK. The doctor can prescribe stronger creams on prescription if the Cansten does not work. As a home remedy, apply natural live set yogurt to your sore area after washing with water and gently drying. Your boyfriend may also need to be treated even if he does not have any symptoms. Your doctor will be able to advise you on this.

Avatar f tn At the time, I had BV, but I cleared that with antibiotics. I also tested positive for a yeast infection and went through three rounds of Fluconazole since it wouldn’t clear. That was in September. It finally cleared in December and I’ve been on Fluconazole for suppressive therapy for a yeast infection for about a week now. I’ll continue that for six months taking one pill each week. I also had a Pap smear in November that was normal, so I don’t think it’s HPV.
Avatar f tn t be certain because of the swollen tissue), but said it could most likely be the the large amounts of yeast. She prescribed two pills of fluconazole (one that I took that same day, and the next that I had to take three days later), after I took the second pill, that same night she said to start monistat 3. After the fluconazole and monistat 3, the pain has definitely gone away, and peeing does not hurt whatsoever (which was one of my symptoms), and it does not feel itchy.
Avatar f tn Yea.. just speak to your doctor tomorrow and ask can you have fluconazole unit dose it's a one time use tablet to treat yeast... Aka fungal infections...
Avatar f tn hours, minutes , days after the oral dose of Bactrim I did develop a yeast infection. I mean, I had all the symptoms of one... and it was just brought on suddenly . A few days go by... the outer skin around my vulva, vaginal surrounding, was so swollen, it hung lower that... Ill leave that at that..... The itch was unbearable and the weird thing is no discharge no smell not thick .. NOTHING .. the itch crept all the way up towards my clitoris and my friends... not fun to itch... like really!!!
Avatar m tn Usually for most fungal infection the fluconazole dose would need to be taken twice a week for 2-3 weeks. However, please ask your doctor before stepping up the dose. If you plan to test for the cause, it is best to avoid using any anti-fungal r antibacterial for at least 72 hours. You can give a swab test and a urine test after this.
Avatar f tn I don’t believe I have ever had Covid, and I got one dose of vaccine but it was after my symptoms onset. Sure the flu once or twice but those dont line up with the onser either. The only medication I was/am on right before the onset is anti-fungal ones for my toenail (fluconazole followed by two different topicals). Doctor doesnt think its a contraindication but Maybe i do have an intolerance internally?
Avatar f tn It said my PH was normal so I began Monistat 7 day. I have now had 6 doses of that, and my Doctor prescribed me Fluconazole. I took that almost 72 hours ago and it feels like since all this treatment, the itching is just worse. It now itches more inside too. When should i get some relief? She said if the fluconazole doesn't work in 3 days to take a second dose, which I will do today. Is this all normal? I'm a virgin so it's nothing sexually transmitted.
Avatar f tn I completed my last dose of metronidazole 4 days ago and also took fluconazole after completion. I noticed a yellow tint on both sides of my tongue the Friday I completed the last pill and took the fluconazole. I was instructed to take metronidazole 2times daily for 7 days. During the time taking it i experienced pain in muscles, jaw pain, headaches, dizziness, sweating, pebble like stool...
Avatar f tn Later she told me that she has got an sti and her gynac has prescribed a dose of fluconazole and anti fungal steroid cream and has asked me to do the same. I did as she prescribed and after that started applying coconut oil on my glans and penile head. Later after some time i started observing little red nerves kind of things appearing during masturbation with little bumps. Can someone please diagnose this problem.
Avatar f tn m a pharmacy technician I know about different meds this one unit dose pill called fluconazole I took that when I had a yeast due to the fact those otc over the counter meds burn the heck out of me.. so I asked my doctor to prescribe that for me... Talk to your doctor but if you used the otc monistat stick with it if it don't cause you any problems but that pill is a one time thing not a three day thing..
Avatar m tn I used to have problems with yeast before so I thought it may be yeast infection. I took 300mg single dose of fluconazole and used canesten cream. I was sort of expecting significant improvement. That didn't happen. It seems to be little bit better, but it does not seem to heal as fast as I would expect after taking fluconazole. Now I am concerned it may be herpes. How long after onset of first symptoms (red patches) would blisters appear? Would they always appear?
