Does a one time 150 mg dose of fluconazole for vaginal thrush affect the effectiveness of hormonal birth control (the pill)?

It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days. What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.

This time I took fluconazole 150 mg that my doctor prescribed at the last visit. I even took a second dose 72 hours later and I am still having itching, redness, and soreness. I am scared now, I don't know why fluconazole isn't working (it worked for me in the past). What else can I use? I feel out of options, since fluconazole failed. It can't be bacterial, because discharge is white and odorless.

I have been treated with Nystatin, Ketoconazole, Clotrimazole, Clotimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate, fluconazole and itraconazole, one at a time over many months. The red inflamed area has still not gone but is not painful anymore.. I have seen an internest, a dermatologist and an infectious disease specialist. Any suggestions?

Consulted on phone (as I stay in Zambia) with a Dermatologist and gave all the medicine history who advised for 10 day course of Itraconazole-200mg (1-0-0), Fluconazole-150mg(1-0-0), Hydroxyzine-10 mg(1/2 morning n 1/2 evening) and apply Luliconazole lotion. Today is 4th day have no relief. As of today, fullr peeled off areas is resurfaced with white layers full foread and foreskin, heavy itching and frequent urination continues.

Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?

oh and the doctor gave me medicine for thrush anyway (two 100 mg fluconazole pills one to take that day and one for 2 days later) and it didnt go away so it must not be thrush

Hi All- I didn't know I was pregnant when I took 2x150 mg of fluconazole in a span of week during my 4th and 5th weeks. After I came to know about my pregnancy, I am now scared, that I might have harmed my baby. Please help me out here. Has anyone taken it during first trimester ? Is the baby doing well? Eventually he prescribed enough fluconazole 150 mg for the next 3 months. I had to take the first three with 72 hours differerence then the leftovers once a week one tablet. I haven't got itchiness but when I have sex with my partner I have a burning sensation, which can be painful... My partner treated himself with cream, so we cant even have the `ping-pong` affect.

My OBGYN put me on FLUCONAZOLE for a yeast infection its 100 MG im suppose to take 1 pill once a day... i cant remember if i already took one today or not.. so i went ahead and took another...i was just woundering if that was okay??

Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

s followed on the heals of the Prednisone ( 10 mg x 3 for 4 days, 10 mg x 2 for 4 days, 10 mg x 1 for 4 days ), which was proceeded by a prescription of Sulfamethoxazole/Tmp 800-160 Tabs twice a day for 14 days. Facial infection is gone, but rash only keeps getting worse. This is on top of 80 mg x 2 tabs of Propranolol and 1 mg x 2 of Clonazepam for anxiety. And for discomfort the MD gave me a prescription of Hydroco/Apap 5-500m Tabs.

Doctor said its just a yeast infection and gave me 30 days medication! and 8 weeks Fluconazole 400 mg per week and an anti bacterial cream to apply on the penis head twice a day!! but i still feel that burning sensation occasionally and when i apply that cream that burning sensation is little bit higher!! ve taken fluconazole when pregnant for yeast infections and it is commonly prescribed during pregnancy and has no pregnancy at the regular dose during the second trimester. During the first, at higher doses of 400 to 800 mg a day, you shouldn't take it but you should be fine now. Flagyl is pregnancy category B. That means it was not shown to affect a fetus in limited studies. It's also pretty commonly given during pregnancy.

Background info: I was given 3, 150 mg Fluconazole tabs to take, every other day. I started this Tuesday, I have taken 2 pills and will take my last one Saturday. I've had this irritation in the area under my foreskin for over a year now. A fungal cream seems to keep it at bay and I've even taken Diflucan/Fluconazole (200 mg daily) for a week.
