Avatar f tn Than you for your information. Guess I am not making myself clear, but could long term use of Flonase be the cause of the follicultis? Thank you.
464237 tn?1315670793 As long as she is treating you with an ATB, then use the Flonase. Those contraindications usually are for people who have chronic immune system issues.
Avatar f tn Try to avoid Afrin type nasal sprays, I cannot confirm if they are safe during pregnancy or not, but the issue with this type of spray is that you can only use it for a few days at a time. Long term use of Afrin nasal spray can acutally cause your congestion to get worse, so it's only recommended for 2-3 day use and that's for normal, non pregnancy use. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Avoiding the allergens may be the only effective long term therapy. So, allergy testing may be worth looking into. They may help to identify the allergen and may try to desensitize you. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Singulair for long-term, and keep my Albuterol handy. My PCP said I can use the inhaler if I cough a lot at night, feeling short of breathe or wheezing. How should I follow up with my PCP &/or ENT? I feel a bit better when the weather is warm/hot, but easy to start coughing when it’s cold, temp change, dusty room or laughing hard. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I've never had allergies of any kind. Then I noticed my nose was runny sometimes. Sneezing some. Nothing alarming. Then I woke up and was having trouble swallowing - felt like something was stuck in my throat. Doc said there was tons of drainage - the diagnosis: allergies. I started zyrtec and flonase, and got a HEPA air purifier. I've had that for about 2 weeks. Annnd now I've developed ear infections in BOTH ears due to the allergies, even taking all that and with the filter.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar f tn Went to my dr last Thursday June 27 she gave me Bactroban ointment to put in my nose once a day. How long will this feeling last and when will the pimple/bump go away? When should I go back to Dr.?
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar m tn was wondering if l keep taking azarga for another ten or twenty years could the eye drops themselves cause any long term serious eye problems that could affect my vision ? What is the safest glaucoma eye drop with least side effects to take long term or are they all pity much all safe.
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn Tough question. There are many reasons for post nasal drip and tinnitus. If your nose is still running, could it be sinusitis? Do notice any weird smells from your nose? Headaches? A chronic sinus infection will cause post nasal drip. But it could be that one month with Flonase isn't long enough to get your symptoms under control. I would say 2 months would be more reasonable to decide if there is something else. this type of therapy takes a while for things to set in.
867954 tn?1356900863 I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc. Doctor says fluid behind ear after checking me out and looking into my ears, so I'm on flonase and Allegra-D.
1939607 tn?1324289300 I have also had this same experience. (symptoms below). I think I have an allergy to Flonase! The details of severe and less severe side effects of the drug are found here: http://www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm I think it's the Flonase, in my case adverse reactions are: mild swelling (throat), sore throat, white sores/dry spots in the throat, nausea and vomiting, sinus irritation and congestion, pain in the lymph node area.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?
