Flexeril with ibuprofen

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril with ibuprofen

flexeril

Avatar f tn You never know if you will have a reaction to a medication and if it was not prescribed to you and you received it from someone else that person could potentially be in trouble with the law. I do not believe Flexeril is addictive. But, please call your doctor instead. That's just my two cents! WTG for being clean from vicodin for 3 weeks!!! AWESOME!!! Keep staying strong hun!!!! You know, Ibuprofen or naproxin works great too and you can get them over the counter. Good luck!!!
Avatar f tn m afraid to bend over very far, and it pulls on my right hip! Also, seem to get as much relief with Ibuprofen as I do with pain meds?
2027954 tn?1329062151 Flexeril isn't narcotic or addictive. On the other hand, Somas are. Flexeril should be ok to take.
Avatar f tn The only thing I am aware of is Ibuprofen 800 mg every 6 to 8 hours. I am not a doctor, just a patient.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, So this all started on Tuesday or Wed (April 7/8) with a dull headache that would come and go at random times. Coffee helped for a bit but it would always come back. I didnt think much of it because I'm used to headaches like this. Come around to that Sunday night (April 12), I was relaxing in bed when all of a sudden the headache turned severe out of basically nowhere, so much so that I was in tears while icing my head .
Avatar f tn of Flexeril....I was prescribed 1 - 2 5 mg. tabs three times daily to deal with spasms. Since insurance would not approve the extended release flexeril, I had to stay with the generic and was told BY MY DOC to take 2 tabs 3 times daily for the spasms. I am also prescribed Dilaudid (2 mg. up to 4 times per day), but I don't use more than 1 per day now....pain is not so bad...just the spasms -- especially after PT!!!
Avatar m tn I use it as needed when my back gets too tight. I use it with Ibuprofen and the combo works as well as opiates. Here is a link by avisg. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/Zanaflex/show/548835 In fact, it was avisg that told me about it. I like Zanaflex better than Flexeril, because I feel less groggy on Zanaflex.
Avatar m tn You should be OK on those things but I would not start at the full doses of L-Tyrosine. Build up 500mg at a time and see how you do. You shouldn't need the valium with the Flexeril. Neurontin sometimes has helped with w/ds so that should actually benefit you.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar n tn Of course I put it off thinking it would get better and just lived with the pain, taking ibuprofen and exedrin. So a couple days ago I finally broke down and went to the doctor. She was nice and seemed genuinly concerned especially about my tingling arm and 2 fingers. But it through me off when she said I have to do physical therapy and if that didnt work possible surgery. I spent like an hour with this lady explaining to her how severe my back pain was. It literally brings me to tears.
Avatar m tn I just seen that you posted. Sorry so long to get back with you. The flexeril never helped me. It did not even make me sleepy. Why don't you call the posion control hotline and believe it or not they can help you. If not they can give you a number to call. If you don't want to do that call your local er and let them know what's going on for him.
Avatar f tn So, I have been having symptoms which I feel are in line with RLS but my doctor is disagreeing with me. My chief complaint has been ongoing, almost constant pain on a daily basis in my legs and sometimes my arms. I say pain but the feeling is more uncomfortable, twitchy, achy feeling. I have twitchy and achy legs at night that wake me up and keep me from going back to sleep. The only relief I get is when I get up and move around or wriggle my legs when I sit.
Avatar f tn Before getting pregnant i was taking tramadol and flexeril to take the edge off if my jaw started locking up. Now my ob just has me on the lowest dose of flexeril but it seems to do nothing for it. Just 10 more weeks though i think i can make it if i've gotten this far.
Avatar f tn And sorry to hear about your experience with Flexeril. I have not heard of any dependency issues of that drug before. It does make sense that your body can become accustom to any medication. Have you discussed this with your PCP? As Sandee said I don't know how many you are taking per day not the dose. I think I would just gradually reduce this medication. Are you sure the migraines are related to the discontinuation of the medication....or could their be another factor going on?
757527 tn?1237893063 My doctor prescribed 5mg Flexeril daily. I took one last night and my pain went from a 8 (on a 10 scale) to about a 3. Has anyone else tried these? Can they be used long term? I'd rather not have to rely on medicine, but if this is helping me, I may have to stick with it. I also get myofascial massages, use warm heat, take Vit B50, and am trying some new supplements for muscles and joints.
Avatar f tn I was given flexeril and tramadol for muscle spasms due to herniated discs. The tramadol did nothing for the pain, I was able to receive some relief from motrin instead. I can't take stronger opioids because they make me nauseous. Morphine doesn't work for me either. Are the two medications related?
Avatar f tn The dosages were upped until reaching norco 10/325. 4 per day. This with Tramadol 300. Within the last year I have had to add flexeril multiple times per day as well as gabapentin multiple times per day. As if this wasnt enough i have severe RLS but the meds made me VERY sick so dr upped my xanax rx to help with sleep because of the RLS. I first stopped the tramadol, 1 1/2 weeks later I stopped the gabapentin and then a few days later the flexeril.
1653969 tn?1390331661 The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises? A couple of minutes of tai chi and meditation and particularly the breathing exercises are very valid therapies.
Avatar n tn you need to consult a neurosurgeon for evaluation. You have been prescribed drugs like flexeril, muscle relaxant, gabapentin, anti convulsant used for neuropathic pain, opioids, etc. You need to put faith whichever combination of medications you are using. Do not mix up drugs or try all. Follow one doctor’s advice and consult the doctor again if not much relief. Check with a physiotherapist and if still in pain, consider undergoing surgery. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn m unsure of just how damaging Flexeril is to the kidneys. My only other medicine history has been with Ketoconazole, and that stuff is practically toxic for your liver.
