fingernails stop growing

Have you tried maybe cutting the nails down and putting a nail Gardner or thickener on them, maybe this would help them to stop growing unevenly to where you can enjoy the length and look of your nails doing as they please but as you want them to?.

Anyone have terrible fingernails with their VDD? I ask because for the past few years my nails have been very blah, the minute they start to grow they just split and peel. Now, I have noticed being on the VD for the past few weeks/months my nails finally seem to be growing slowly and not splitting or peeling, yet anyhow.

About 10 years ago I went to the nail salon and added nail tips to my fingernails. A week later I went back to remove them. Soon after removing the nail tips, I started noticing my nails on my thumbs started to change colors. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed Penlac to treat the nail fungus. After using Penlac for a while I noticed that it was not working for me. After that, I went back to the dermatologist and they did a culture and they said it was a fungus.

ve noticed the ends of all my fingertips slowly turning red.... only on the top side of my hands, the side with the fingernails.... My fingernails are healthy and growing/normal, but the skin surrounding the nail is very red.... I also can add that my hands are ALWA:YS cold, and I have had a tingly feeling in my fingertips a few times, only in a few fingers, it went away after a minute or two.....

t think I had damaged the nail bed because it was growing out straight, but is funny looking. He prescribed a urea nail stick to aid with the fungus like matter under the fingernail. I keep it trimmed back to allow for new nail growth, but it gets to a certain point and develops this gross looking end to it. I am a professional guitar player with growing concerns over the health of my fingernails. been doing this for more than a month now. the growing fingernails seems to be ok and not sunken anymore. but i have to monitor for progress. ill let you know. thanks alot!

t know if I would consider this is a side effect but before starting treatment my finger nails were kinda slow growing and always very brittle, the first 3 weeks of treating they stopped growing completely, but since then they have started growing like crazy and are really healthy and pliable now. I know it sounds crazy and I'm not sure what to make of it but it is happening.

First of all: You're not mad! Now what I ate when I was pregnant wasn't paper - I had to drink orange juice after brushing my teeth. Couldn't stand the taste of oranges alone, but loved the combination. It is interesting how we crave for things and how stilling the craving only seems to be possible with that one thing. I think that I'd have looked into how others break cravings. Sugar and carbs as an example can only be broken by going through the withdrawal.

Pills did not work but the shampoo works a couple of days and fibers stop growing, and it did stop the fibers, that now as I have looked at them under a large scope are spirochetes, and now Im thinking this is a type of Lyme disease. I have been noted to have domed fingernails but not apparently 'clubbed' They have been like this as long as I can remember What might cause domed nails but not clubbed. ???

The doctor says my thyroid hormone levels fluctuates as do my symptoms. My fingernails are the worst and I am so very tired and weak. They are very soft and thin with ridges. I thought the synthyroid was supposed to help with these issues. I knew about the thinning hair, which I am experiencing to a much, MUCH worse degree than I expected (but hey, it's summer!! ) But I have never read anything about tx affecting your fingernails. It only makes sense, as they are both made of the same thing - but has anyone else had this problem? Mine are awful! Hey there, girl.....I don't know. It sounds terrible. When I was getting chemo, I had an eruption of psoriasis and I lost my toenails and they aren't coming back....chemo ended 5 years ago. I hurt my toes all the time; but I know it would be much worse if it was my finger nails. I wish I could offer some help. Maybe someone will come along and know something helpful. Have you spoken to your doc or your chemo team about this? That's a good place to start.

I have some tori that won't stop growing (a little one on the roof of my mouth [it doesn't bother me though], a BIG one on each sides of my mouth, and two big ones in the middle [where my tongue is]). Since about last month, the ones in the middle connected together, and are now about 3x the size of what they were last year. My orthodontist and dentist both said it was the biggest they've seen yet. I'm only 17, so chances are they're going to grow for another while.

I have these white lines on my fingernails that run parallel to the cuticle. They have areas in the white line that are heavier and make the line look like a spot. I am 20 years old and I've recently (in the last year) become obsessed with picking at scabs on my scalp. I can easily spend hours in front of a mirror looking for little scabs to pick off or even small bits of dandruff to pick at.
