Hi I just want to know what can cause some or all of these combined symptoms, Hair thinning, lost of appetite, a few dark toenails but not all of them, 1 fingernail half light pink half light brown with vertical lines no ridges, wart on ball of both feet and lately some lost of taste (I'm thinking due to thin white film on tongue) I was a Severe smoker until recently when I stopped.
I had a corneal abrasion, (fingernail in eye) immediately visited the optometrist who prescribed antibiotics, steroid drops, and no contact wear. After followup 4 days later, the drops were tapered off and I was cleared to wear contacts in a few days (7 days after injury). I could somewhat verify the progression of healing at home; the vertical light on my makeup mirror reflected on my cornea - the reflection was smooth expect for the injury, where the reflection rippled.
I have done some research myself and curiously one day typed into google an odd symptom I had; vertical lines on my fingertips. The only explanation for this was Adrenal Fatigue. I read that another symptom of this was elevated heart rate and high blood pressure which I do have.
I am only 18 years old, I am not under any major stress, do not feel overly tired, I maintain my weight (all the OPPOSITE symptoms of adrenal fatigue) I am very happy with life and laugh a lot every day!
On the other hand, splinter hemorrhages appear as a red to reddish-brown fine, vertical line that resembles a splinter beneath the nail, this disorder occurs when blood vessels in the nail bed are damaged or from a nail injury. If a dark spot or streak appears on any nail, and is not the result of an injury, it must be examined by a dermatologist to rule out melanoma.

Could this be a type of fingernail material growing from the scalp? The physical consistency of this 'hair' strongly resembles that of a fingernail. Extensive searching the net has found nothing. Surely my daughter is not the only case like this. I read about keratin, but it seems the keratin in hair and nails is the same.
Fingering is not a risk of HIV transmission cut with a fingernail or not.
Read the instructions carefully And according to the test i took for a positive there is supossed to be ONE VERTICAL line in the control window to say the test worked and in the result window. And if its negative, NOTHING in the result window but a vertical line showing the test worked in contol window. BUT mine had the vertical line in the control window meaning it worked. and a horizontal line in the result window.. What does this mean? Positive or neg?!

Am I at risk of any serious disease if I get a very mild scratch from some other man's fingernail? This happened to me a few days back while travelling in a train. Since then, I have been thinking about it and it has been causing me a lot of anxiety. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

About two months ago my fingernail developed a black mark near the nailbed. It has since continued up toward the top of the nail while changing brownish now puple with the uppermost tip is turning white. I have an appointment in October.It doesn't hurt and does not appear to look fungal according to my doctor. Is October to long to wait? I read that melanoma can develop under the nail.
My question is if the wetness I felt on the door handle had been blood and it had gotten on my fingertips and nails and had been wet hiv blood and it got on the fingernail that I punctured and cut my chin with could I have gotten hiv from my fingernail with wet hiv blood puncturing and cutting my chin? ve had this happen to me more than once) Any serious crunching to the nail on your finger will cause this to happen - the bruising underneath the nail is what causes it to fall off, and the bump in the middle of where the nail used to be is actually the new fingernail growing back.
There are also various rheumatological diseases that can present with fingernail symptoms, and if suspected, various anti-antibody tests can be done as well as a referral to a rheumatologist.

At the top of the fingernail, where it grows out fron the finger, is a small semi-circle of white then the rest of the finger nail is pinkish. Prior to moving to where I now live my nails all had this little area now 3 years later only my thumbs do. Can anyone tell me if this is something to be concerned about? Thanks for any help!!
