The fingertip of her right ring finger is swollen with white dead skin which looks more like a fungal infection. No apparent necrosis, but the fingernail has separated and also *appears* to be infected with fungus. She has had IV antibiotics twice as well as antibiotic and antifungal pills, and it was non-responsive to the drugs. Tested negative for MRSA. Finger hurts and is pinkish-red. It is dry with no discharge.

Such kind of nail thickening and color change can be due to trauma or nail fungal infection also. Nail fungus also known as Onychomycosis is very common but hard to treat because of the location of the fungus that happens to be under the nails. There are different ways to treat this infection, but recent studies suggest that using both topical and oral anti fungal medications at same time yields better result.
Ridges, pits,thickening or thinning of nails may suggest an underlying infection, kidney disease or nutrient deficiency. In your case,differentials will be a fungal infection, psoriasis or it may be a benign presentation of an underlying infection.

About 20 days after, noticed a small red irritation just under penis head about length of fingernail. Saw GP, then two different dermatologists. Also had blood/urine tests done for Syphillis, Gonorreah, Chlamydia, HIV, HerpesSelect for HSV 1 & 2 IGG (HerpeSelect) at 3 weeks post-exposure and 8 weeks post exposure. All came back negative.
I could kick myself for not realizing the significance of this problem sooner, yet I also have never had to deal with a fungal infection either (ergo my naivity). Well, needless to say I wish I did not have this at all or, at least, realized what it was sooner.

it is almost three years now have this fungal infection in my scrotum, when i go to hot regions my scrotum becomes red and very itch and painful. last time i went to hospital doctor told me i have candida and gave me dezor cream and whitfield ointment they helped me but i stopped using them for awhile and i went to Punjab, India for studies temperature is very high, it started again. please i really need some help for a cure

Your doctor may call in a prescription without seeing you right now if you call the and say it's the same as last time if they used a prescribed ointment on it.
